TL:DR - Rapid plumbing left our house without a water supply. This was clearly intentional, see the photo with the large section of pipe cut out. We are just renters, and whatever problem they had with the landlord needed to be dealt with on a professional and legal basis, instead of leaving our house unlivable. I don't know what the legalities are in this situation, but I will be finding out, and if nothing else it's unethical to leave us without water. When we called them, as soon as they figured out who we were they became rude and just said ""It's not our problem"".
We rent a house, which had a water softener with a leaky tank. Our management company sent out Rapid Plumbing. They determined that the system needed to be replaced, and I told them to send a quote to whoever they were dealing with at the management company Didn't expect to hear back soon, if at all, due to the usual red tape, but to my surprise maybe fifteen minutes after the plumber left, he came back to the door to tell me the work had been approved. So far so good.
Then they showed up to do the work. The odd thing there was that the management company didn't tell me they were coming. They always contact me ahead of time when contractors come to do work to verify someone will be home. For that matter, Rapid Plumbing didn't contact me either, they just showed at my door one morning. Seemed odd, but whatever, at least the work was getting done, right? No major complaints about the work. It was a little sloppy, leaked some water on stuff in the garage. I had to help the guy load the old water softener in his truck to take it away. I with they would have told me ahead of time there would some water leakage so I could move things around. Fortunately it wasn't too much water.
Later received an invoice (see photo) which indicated it was paid, $0.00 balance due. Another weird thing: it was sent to my address, not the property management company, and the addressee was just the first name of of the guy at the maintenance company who deals with this stuff. Seemed odd they had gotten paid, but didn't seem to know who to send the invoice to. Whatever, it was taken care of.
Then yesterday the maintenance company contacted me and told me that Rapid Plumbing had done this work without authorization, and needed to come back back and uninstall the system. Annoying, but that's between Rapid and the management company. Guy shows up, I let them into the garage, and about 30 minutes later he rings the bell. I open the door, and he's heading for his truck. Tells me there done and hustles out of there. Seemed weird, so I hurried to the garage to check on things. Water everywhere, not some on the floor like last time, but had splashed on furniture and other items we had in the garage. And a huge section of pipe seemed to be missing. I had a sinking feeling, ran in the house, turned on the faucet. NO WATER. Ran back out to see if I could catch the guy who did the work, but they were long gone.
So now we're left without water. Called Rapid Plumbing, and as noted above, once they knew what account it was concerning they just gave me the brushoff, said it wasn't their problem and there was nothing they could do.
Now, I have no idea what's going on between Rapid Plumbing and the property management company. Something does seem off about the whole story: the on-the-spot ""approval"", showing up without notice, the paid invoice sent to the wrong person and address. But none of that would be my problem EXCEPT that Rapid Plumbing decided to behave in an unethical (and illegal?) manner by leaving our house unlivable, so that now we're going to have to pay to stay in a hotel until somebody fixes the damage they left. At the very least, they could have made the extra effort leave the water running, not splashed water on our stuff, or even let us know the situation instead cutting out our main water supply and running away. Very unprofessional, at best. Do not hire these people under any circumstances.

Andrew Soto and Gilbert helped me tremendously. I was struggling financially and they helped me with the price which I appreciated. Andrew did excellence work and was through. I would definitely use them again.

Beware of Rapid Plumbing License #771683. After having spent $41,450 I was informed by an independent plumber of having been charged 5x's more than what it should have cost.Obviously I didn't know better having never had plumbing problems in the past. Do not use Rapid Plumbing South Bay.

I was in need of a plumber on a Saturday afternoon so I called Rapid Plumbing in Inglewood. They came out to my home in Whittier right away within 40 minutes. I was so pleased that they sent out two very nice professional plumbers, Gilbert and Adrian. They gave me an estimate and were both very professional.

This vendor came to my mom's house to identify a leak and water pooling at the foundation of her house. They claimed, in addition to water coming from a sprinkler, that she needed a 10' section of sewer line under the house replaced - at a cost of $4,800, a mind-boggling charge for a few hours (at most) of work/plastic pipe replacement. It was like the plumber just threw out of price to see my reaction. The problem, in addition to an obscene and out of market rate charge, is that the sewer line showed no evidence of leaking, and that the tech just bid the job, didn't even offer to dig (or bid to dig) a few inches (one foot max) to examine the line. Moreover, the sewer lines under the home run in the opposite direction from what the tech wanted to dig up and charge me for. This company is incompetent and will rip you off. Go elsewhere.

Please call another company before you call this one! This is my first bad 1 start review. If I could give a negative 5 stars I would! My 79 year old mother called this company and they came out. Eugene S. Quotes her 14K. They pulled the toilet, emptied the septic tank and a few other small things. He was there one extra day. I feel he took advantage of an older lady. When she had another problem with the other toilet, we paid $350 for a new toilet. This was a nightmare and I would never do business again with this company. I would encourage you to do your homework, and i my opinion you should call another company that has better reviews. The person inside the office a sweet nice girl ""Gloria"", finally helped me come up with a fair but still pricey new amount. The only thing good about the company was Gloria. Please, don't put your older family member in the same position we accidently put ours. Read all reviews from this company. Good luck and it's nice to have this nightmare done.

Beware....After our sewer kept backing up I was referred to Rapid Plumbing after having previous plumbers out to snake the drain. Rapid Plumbing ran a camera and even though I had told them approximately where I had been told the blockage was from what other plumbers had told me. The rapid tech said they identified the problem from the camera and that they would dig 6 ft down and run a sleeve and that once this was done the problem would be fixed all the way to the city's sewer I had also informed them that there was anawful sewer smell coming up through our bathroom sink the tech told me once they put the sleeve into the pipe the smell would go awaw after a couple of weeks as of today this smell is still there. Once this was completed they came back and said they now believed that the problem was further down the line and they would need to dig an additional 6ft hole and yet this hole was going to be exactly where I had told them that the others had told me the problem was to begin with. Now my cost went from an already expensive $18k to almost $23k to complete this job. I had no choice with deep trenches in my front yard and my family without use of a bathroom so I had them complete this job. Once finished I was additionally shocked and saddened by the fact that instead of filling all of the dirt back in the holes they had taken much of the remaining dirt and hidden it all around my foundation and on top of my landscaping where it still sits up against the house in several piles they also broke a sprinkler line which was leaking all over the sidewalk. The uneveness of the front yard grass looks ridiculous. When I called them they came back and fixed the sprinkler and put a patch of grass on top of the ground instead of removing all the mud from up against the house. I have since tried to contact them about all of this they decline to respond.

The Techs were nice and informative on the replacement of my New Hot Water Heater. They took time with me and performed their work very efficiently. I would recommend this great company. And Nea work well with me. Michael Restivo Carlsbad, Ca

Max and Bryant were excellent. I had a clogged, backed up drain. They worked until it was draining. I am very, very appreciative of them. Thank you, Rapid

Great work. Geraldo (Gerry) and his crew were fast, efficient, and careful. I have an old house and some pipes are beyond repair. They fixed a few extras without further charge. I have used this company for many years and have been happy with their work.
