RainSoft of NE Iowa provides top-notch household water purification systems and air purification equipment to homeowners in Waterloo. Our customers asked for more services, and we took action by introducing plumbing solutions! We are now your your go-to provider for your plumbing and water solutions!

Started in 1981 by our founder Terry Bonik, who was later joined by Rachel, our vice-president, RainSoft of NE Iowa is an authorized RainSoft dealer equipped to handle nearly any problem related to water or air quality in your residence. Terry Bonik was exposed to RainSoft in St. Cloud, MN in the late 1970s. He acquired his first-ever RainSoft system for his house. Six months after that, Terry joined the team at a RainSoft dealership in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Afterward, he moved to Oelwein and secured a role at a RainSoft dealership in Cedar Rapids as a sales lead. In 1981, Terry opened RainSoft of Oelwein, Inc in Oelwein, IA. In 2006, RainSoft of Oelwein expanded and developed a state-of-the-art 6,120 sq. ft. facility in Waterloo, IA. With this new location allowed RainSoft of Oelwein, Inc to transition to RainSoft of NE Iowa. The family business continued as our founder Terry welcomed Rachel as the new vice president of RainSoft of NE Iowa. Come 2016, RainSoft of NE Iowa expanded its service area, now covering the counties of Jackson, Clinton, Scott, and Muscatine.

Rachel became part of the company in 2006 and has joined the ownership team since then. Raised in RainSoft, she has known the company since birth. She experienced high-quality water at home and was astonished by the quality of water when she attended! Rachel enrolled at UNI with plans to obtain a degree in teaching, but became interested in business instead. Post-graduation, she took on a few roles before deciding to become part of the family operation!

Currently, she carries on the values of RainSoft of NE Iowa, delivering high-quality products with a lifetime guarantee along with exceptional customer service! RainSoft of NE Iowa is a small company that prioritizes its community and employees, treating them like family.

Rachel has been happily married since 2008 and has two children, a boy Brayden and a daughter named Emma. Interestingly, Brayden is now employed at RainSoft of NE Iowa on a part-time basis assisting in our operations.
