Company Overview

Green grass, lively plants, and perfect shade are vital for a friendly yard. At Rainman Irrigation & Landscape Lighting, we excel in providing all these elements and more for your home’s landscape. Our focus is on home irrigation, landscape lighting, and we utilize only the most dependable, cutting-edge electronic controllers, rain sensors, sprinkler heads, and valves. To ensure everything goes smoothly, one of our owners is always on-site during the process. No matter if you want a new installation, repairs, or winterization, we are dedicated to keeping your yard beautiful year-round.

Rainman Irrigation exclusively uses the latest, most reliable electronic controllers, rain sensors, sprinkler heads, valves, and lighting fixtures from trusted brands like Rainbird, Toro, Hunter, Irritrol, Vista, ABR, and others. With over 13 years in the construction industry, Nathan Hegedus has expertise in plumbing and electrical. He joined as a company owner in January 2017, applying his extensive expertise to the irrigation field.

Daniel Stephen has spent the last decade in real estate and residential construction, recently joining Rainman to offer exceptional administrative support and hands-on assistance.

I called and set up a time for a estimate a week out for over the weekend. I called him the following week to see if he looked at the job and he said he didn't have time. Over the next week or two I kept asking for quote for irrigation system. Then I called after this has been going on for 3 weeks and he acted like he had no idea about it. Then proceeded to say find someone else and hung up. I called him back and he cussed me out and hung up. I told him he is real tough and amazing how that is how you do business! I told him to say this to my face and he said where which then I said at the property I've been trying to get quote for. Funny how you can make time to fight me but not quote me! Anyone that carries themselves like this you should never use! I'm in the industry and never seen anything like this!

Rainman made me aware of everything clearly. He was knowledgeable and fixed the problem quickly. Prices are reasonable. Fixed the broken sprinkle head and saved me future trouble. Highly recommend them.

Jeff and his crew did a great job. The yard looks great due to the coverage. When I got my first estimate it was so good that I decided to expand the project to cover the back yard too. They showed me how to get the best coverage for the least amount of money. Their expertise at designing, installing and setting up the system was great. They have been very good fixing any problems including next day response to fix a line cut by the phone company. I highly recommend them for your system. I have notice some complaints about cost and response. Last summer was a drought, it prompted me to get a system as a lot of other people. They were extremely busy but still gave me an estimate of how long it would take to get to me. Also anyone can go and grab a handful of parts at a hardware store, it take knowledge and experience to design install and repair your system. They are definitely worth the cost.

Make sure to get your pricing up front!!! All these guys did was complain when they showed up on how much work it was and that they are so busy. I had the feeling that they did not even want to be there. When is was all said in done, they had a handful of parts and 1.5 hours labor and the bill was $625! EEEEEKK! I asked for an explanation and it was like they children throwing a fit. They tried to show me some spreadsheet with their competitors on there to justify the cost. I'm sorry but $625 for 5 sprinkler heads, 1.5 hours of labor and a handful of fittings does NOT add up. Again, I was happy paying their hourly rate and $45 per $10 sprinkler head but then they tried to charge me $220 for a handful of fittings. I was told that they will void my warranty if I did not pay in full. They also said repeatedly said, """"you are welcome to call our competitors next time."""" You know what, I WILL!!!! These guys are overpriced. BEWARE!

I chose Rainman because of its top ranking on Yelp. Big mistake! For starters, you are paying for two people to do a one-man job. (One guy does the work, the other offers moral support.) Far worse, though, is their pricing of materials. They will tell you that their prices are clearly indicated in their invoice, which is true. (Although they never shared it with me prior to my approving their estimate for the work.) They won't tell you how much they mark it up. I was charged $130 for a Hunter valve. An internet search revealed several Hunter sprinkler valves for far less: $19.99 at the Dripdepot, for example. Lowes offers a valve from another manufacturer for $12.97. These are retail prices. My guess is that they paid no more than $15 for the valve that they charged me $130. That is a markup of 767 percent! Worse yet is their markup of the PVC pipe and fittings. Lowes sells a 10-foot section of 1-inch pipe for $2.64. They sell 1-inch elbow fittings for $0.98 each. My job required maybe 3 feet of pipe and 10 elbow fittings. (These are generous guesses.) Throw in $0.56 for pipe dope and cement and we are talking about a cost to Rainman of $13 in terms of retail pricing. Their charge to me: $160. That is a markup of 1131 percent! Long after the fact, I recognized that I had been taken advantage of, so I challenged them on these issues. I pointed out that the markups that they use are excessive and that they take unfair advantage their customers' ignorance of what these items actually cost. I told them that they should be ashamed of this disreputable business model. Their response: """"You're welcome to compare us to other competitors that match our qualifications. Thank you."""" I only wish I had. You should.

Called rainmaker for a quote on a one time cleanup, needed shrubs trimmed (about a foot height for 15 feet of shrubs ) Mow edge , some small limbs from my tree in the lawn. They came out Wednesday, I HAD TO CALL THEM TWICE after that to ask about the estimate because they never called me. I felt like they didn't care about my business. After I get a hold of them They tell me 2000 dollars , yes 2000 dollars. LMAO I didn't ask to re sod my lawn, so I called another local service and got exactly what I asked for, for 400 dollars. Anyway I can't comment on rainmaker service because they didn't need my business, but please get other quotes if you do business with this company thanks.

Rainman to the Rescue! Splish, splash, my yard was not taking a bath until Rainman arrived and saved the day! A huge thank you to Rainman for their quick, and professional trouble-shooting and repairs. They repaired broken sprinkler heads, detected leaks I didn't know I had, and changed some sprinkler heads so my yard would be watered more efficiently. All that for a price where I felt like I didn't get hosed! Thank you, Rainman, my broken sprinkler heads won't be MIST and my newly repaired and more efficient sprinkler system now makes MY grass always greener!

Had to wait 3 weeks for an appointment and he called 3 days prior to confirm I will be there the whole day so I can approve the estimate, they can complete work and get paid. Well they did not show at 10 am so at 11 am I called to see if running late etc. and left voicemail. At noon I text and still no response by 1 pm. No show and no call, disrespectful to say the least and doesn't make sense to me. at 1:30 pm I decide to call from another number and no surprise Don answered, he made lame apologies for having emergency calls however makes no excuse for not letting me know by phone or text that he wasn't coming and then just referred me to a local company that has a 4 week wait time. His arrogance is only minimized by his lack of customer service. I would recommend calling anyone but him.

Got a quick response and the crew was here fixing a leak we had in our condo complex's sprinkler system. We were very pleased with the repair. However, when I called them back to see about making them our go-to sprinkler company, I got a million excuses. We're too busy, we're booked up. When I said, we didn't need them back right away, I got more excuses..we didn't install your system, we aren't familiar with it. Never in my life have I seen a company turn away business. Oh well, guess we'll find someone else.

I called Rainman based on the sterling Yelp reviews. And I called them, and I called them, and -- well you get the idea. I needed some repair (extensive) and wanted to expand my system to cover the rest of the property on the new house we just bought. But Rainman did not call me back -- EVER -- and I called repeatedly over a period of weeks! Maybe they do good work for the family members who wrote all these great reviews, but unless they're out of business, they are the most unresponsive company that I've ever tried to do business with.
