Incredibly poor follow-through and customer service.

Plumbing was sloppy too, but passed inspection. There are two places where pipes jut through the space where drywall should go, making proper drywall work impossible.

First they said they had to bill our credit card before they could schedule a WSSC inspection, then they took 10 days to bill us. All in all it took 5 weeks to get this project inspected and closed out, because they twice failed to properly file permit applications. They would not tell us when inspections were scheduled. One was a surprise, one was an ""all day"" range because, ""the guy who scheduled that isn't in today and I can't tell you when it's scheduled for.""

I don't know how they stay in business. I was also told once that the delays were because, ""I've got a lot of customers wanting me to do things for them right now.""

That's literally your job. Don't tell me about it. Just do it.

During our surprise inspection, WSSC told the plumber he filed the wrong permit application - he should have filed the ""long form"".
To which the plumber replied, ""I guess I did it old school.""
""No it's just wrong.""
BURN - inspector wasn't even going to let him play it off.

These guys don't return calls. They don't tell you when inspections are scheduled. They wouldn't even move quickly to TAKE MY MONEY.

$1,330 to install a washing machine drain and vent, and no recourse once you call them, because they take your credit card information before they come out to look at the job and they won't schedule an inspection until AFTER THEY BILL YOU.

Requested a plumber to fix a sink drain from backing-up; a fellow came out, did something, and left indicating that the sink was draining properly. But it wasn't, and it was obvious that the stoppage was due to the garbage disposal. So I called them again and complained, telling them that the plumber hadn't fixed the sink to drain properly. The lady on the other end then said that she would have to send out a ""drain specialist."" I asked her why one plumber couldn't fix what was wrong. She didn't answer, but said that another specialist would be out in 2 hours. Back in my day, the late 20th Century, one plumber could fix anything wrong with a sink. Now I suppose there is a drain specialist, a garbage disposal specialist, a faucet specialist, etc. It shouldn't be that way!

Service tech decided to park in a private alley blocking multiple garage entryways. When the company was called to reach the driver, they didn't even consider an apology. The first question was ""well, are you trying to move your car now?"", uh, hello, yes I am Otherwise, why would I call?
Park on the street like everyone else you selfish jerk. Still not moved. I finally called for a tow truck and for police ticketing and meanwhile, I am unable to get into or out of my house.

$530.14 to replace a toilet flange, wax ring and screws. They will not provide an estimate and they require a credit card prior to repair. In other words, you are at their mercy. AVOID.

On August 23, I received an email from my tenant who lives in a property I own in Washington, DC that the toilet was loose at the base and needed repair by replacing a flange and inserting a replacement ring.

On August 23, I called Raine and Sons Plumbing at 301 864 1122 to schedule an appointment. I asked to receive a quote prior to making the repair. The man who scheduled the appointment agreed.

When the repairman called me (his number is 216 399 8470) to receive directions, I again emphasized I wanted a quote prior to making the repair.

When Raine and Sons called me to let me know what the repairman said needed to be repaired, I was told they could only tell me the problem, not the cost -- not a ballpark, not an estimate.

When I called ""Bear"" who is the manager of customer service to say that the phone scheduler and the repairman both agreed to give me a quote prior to repair, I was told they don't give quotes.

Since the repair needed to be done, I agreed to the work but not to do the work if it exceeded $300.

On August 25, $530.14 was charged to my debit card.

Please note that to this day, no receipt was sent despite requesting it three times from Dan at Raine and Sons -- I gave my mailing address and email address.

Clearly I was overcharged for this work. I obtained two second opinion quotes from other plumbers that it would cost no more than $225 and $175 to replace a flange and wax ring. Please also see the Internet research I conducted on the estimated cost for this repair in the zip code.

Also, the work was not adequately repaired. I had to pay $120 for someone to reseal and caulk the toilet. Please see the attached email from the tenant complaining that it wasn't repaired as well as the receipt for this repair.

Finally, the area was left with dirt and wax from the seal everywhere. I had to pay a cleaning person $50 to clean the bathroom. Please see attached-photos.

On September 7, 2016, I filed a claim with the Bank of America Claims Department.

All told, I have spent the following:

$530.14 -- Raine and Sons -- flange and seal
$120.00 -- xx -- reseal
$50.00 -- xx -- cleaning

TOTAL -- $700.14

... for a repair that should have costed no more than $225.

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of customer service from Raine and Son LLC. I contacted them to repair a leaking shower faucet on Monday, April 6. I explained to the gentleman I spoke with that I live in a condominium building they have serviced many times before and that I needed to coordinate a water shut off in the building for them to do the repair. We have to give 3 days notice to the residents and work cannot start before 10:00 a.m. The gentleman stated he would have someone here between 10:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 9. I stayed home from work and had the building engineer here at that time to shut off the building's water supply so they could make the repair. When no one showed up or contacted me by 11:30 a.m., I called Raine and Son LLC back. I was told then that it is difficult to schedule for that time as they usually start earlier. He said he would have someone here ""in a few hours"". When no one had arrived by 2:00 p.m. I called back. I was told then they still didn't have anyone available and that they would try to get someone out later that afternoon, or the next day. The building engineer and I had both been waiting since the originally confirmed time of 10:15 a.m. (he stayed well past his normal quitting time) and they could not even give me an estimate of when someone would be here! At that point, the engineer had to leave and all I could do was cancel--a completely wasted day thanks to Raine and Son, who had absolutely no respect for my time. I now have to wait until next Monday to have another plumber come make the repair--and have the faucet continue to leak all weekend. If they couldn't meet a 10:15 a.m. appointment time, they shouldn't have told me that they would have someone here then and I would have called someone else. These types of repairs happen all the time in my building and building management gave me the name of another company who always shows up when promised. All in all, one of the worst experiences with a service provided I've had.

DONT NOT USE THEM! Unless you want to waste your hard earn money and they did not come prepared with necessary equipment and still not fixed. Wanting outrageous money to come back just to see what could still be wrong after already overcharging me. YOU WILL BE SORRY. And they were late arriving.

My apartment complex used this company to replace a water main. Despite their equipment being there the day before, they didn't start working until 7:30 at night the day of construction. This means my entire complex was with out running water the entire night and water was still not on the next day. The workers were no where in sight and we had no running water. Who waits until night time to replace a water main? Luckily my sister lives very close and I could use her place to shower and cook for 2 days

I wish that I could say something nice..

I called this company on the recommendation of my building. They wanted a credit card number/authorization prior to their visit (since I own, but do not live in the unit, I would not be present. Fortunately, my renter was...) I now regret giving that to them.

According to my renter, they spent about half an hour on site, which jives with the amount of work they appear to have done. I can't really comment on their work since as it turned out, there really wasn't much to do.

The next week, I was informed that they had billed me for two hours of work, which surprised me since I had already talked to my renter. They insisted that their plumber had to have been working in my apartment for two hours since the GPS indicated that his truck had been parked at my building for two hours. Assuming that's the case (and I have no reason to think otherwise), the truck being parked at the building still does not necessarily mean that the plumber was actually in my apartment ;-) My renter has no reason to lie to me. I can't believe that the company and/or employee would try to pull something like this with a witness present.

The plumber was relatively nice, but it was a very disappointing experience because it feels like they're trying to screw you at every turn. I had to have two appointments, since they didn't bring the right piece to the first appointment, even though, as they acknowledged, they come to this building all the time and are very familiar with the equipment (and, of course, they charged me for the time to tell me they didn't bring the right part--they were going to charge me the full $130, but since I pointed out the dispatcher had incorrectly relayed my instructions to the plumber, resulting in having the wrong part, they only charged me $45--how generous of them). Then, I had the follow-up appointment scheduled for a certain time, didn't receive any confirmation call (as they had the first time), and no one would answer when I left a message to call me back (they don't actually answer the phone on weekends, I guess, except for emergencies). The plumber showed up early (at 9:52), when i was walking home from running an errand, but charged me as arriving at 9:45 (he actually started closer to 9:56) . He finished the job at 10:20, but then had to ""go to the van"" to write up the appointment and, of course, charged me as leaving at 10:30. So the appointment went from being 24 minutes in actuality to 45 minutes on paper and I got charged the extra quarter hour. Save yourself the hassle, the double appointments, and the convenient bump-ups in time, and get another plumber.
