Jessica P.**Please read this before they talk you into purchasing a """"maintenance plan"""" or before using their services at all for that matter** I have the """"annual maintenance plan"""" that includes 2 free yearly maintenance checks on the A/C. My first appointment, yes I said FIRST, was scheduled about a week in advance, the day before it was scheduled I received a call from Wendy asking if there was any way I was able to reschedule as they add an influx of """"emergency calls"""". I informed Wendy I would check if my mother, who was taking time out to be at the appointment as I could not have time off work, would be able to reschedule but if she was not, I would need to keep the original appointment. She assured me if I wasn't able to reschedule I could keep my appointment. The next morning, Wendy called about 20 minutes prior to my appointment window asking if I had been able to reschedule. I informed her that no, we were not able to reschedule and would need to keep the original appointment. She replied with """"Ok I will see if there are any servicemen in the area to come out."""" Interesting because, shouldn't there have been someone on the way because I had NOT cancelled the appointment the day before? Wendy called again, 5 MINUTES BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT WINDOW to tell me there was no one available to come out. IF THERE WASN'T ANYONE AVAILABLE WHY WOULDN'T YOU HAVE CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT YESTERDAY SO WE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO CARVE OUT TIME TO WAIT FOR THE SERVICEMAN THAT WAS NEVER GOING TO SHOW UP. Needless to say I was disappointed and confused at the misleading communication from Wendy. We reschedule for 2 weeks later. FAST FORWARD 2 WEEKS. I again, asked my mother to set aside time to be present for the appointment while I was at work. The window was set for 8-10am. I received no call about a cancellation so I figured everything was good to go. WRONG! My mother called to confirm at 9am and they said someone would be out. FALSE!!!! NO ONE SHOWED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it wasn't bad enough that our time was wasted after the FIRST appointment fiasco, they did not even attempt to redeem themselves and correct their mistake and try to show good customer service the SECOND time. This was an absolutely horrible experience. I felt very mislead by customer service and very dismissed by the company in general. I will not be using their services any longer after this experience. And judging by other reviews, mine is not an isolated incident.
Peter O.Do not give them your credit card! I was charged for a service I did not receive. I had used them in the past, and I guess they had my card on file.
William S.Just to expand a little, I also was interested in replacing my toilet. Rainaldi offered a GREAT(?) deal on a $700 toilet(no seat), not including installation. I said uh, no thanks, went to Lowes and got a nice toilet for $140 and put it in myself. I'm getting too old for this so next time I will find a good journeyman plumber in bluejeans, a dirty t-shirt and an old pick-up truck........butt crack and all, to get a job done at a fair price!!!!
They came out to provide an estimate, after paying for this service, they never did provide the written or a verbal estimate, I had expected it in an email. And I tried calling them every day for 4 days to have their rep call me with the estimate. Never happened. Pathetic follow up. I will never use these guys, and you shouldn't either!
Tri L.Called at 1pm on Tuesday and Wendy told me no one was available to come out to look at my toilet so she put me on the schedule for Wednesday. Around 12p on Wednesday, had not heard from them so I called to make sure I'm still on the """"list"""" and she assured me that I was still on the schedule. Finally get a call at 4:30 pm that I missed because I couldn't get to the phone and the message said to call back, not that technician was available but no urgency to call back. Finally called back and fortunately for Wendy she wasn't there so the after hours guy told me I wasn't even on the list anymore. He was able to see that I was dropped because I didn't call back in time. So in order not to inconvenience them, we need to pick up their 1 attempt to call us and not even the urgency to call back. We cannot inconvenience them in any capacity. Called Roto-Rooter after this at 5:30 and they said they'd have a technician out before 10pm same day. Never again will I call Rainaldi and Wendy for their service. Sad...I like supporting local business but not when I'm jerked around like this. Good luck if you choose Rainaldi.
Joseph L.I called Rainaldi Home Services to have my A/C checked and repaired. I mentioned that I was military and I was told to just mention that to the service repair person when he comes out and he/she will apply a discount. The person who came out to perform the repair was prompt. He identified the reason the A/C was not working and had the replacement part on hand (capacitor) to finish the job. Overall, a decent experience except for the price I thought was a little bit steep and the fact the service repair person said they did not do military discount; I felt a little deceived. Also, I noticed after the repair person left, did not put in the outdoor compressor panel screws back in, and left the outdoor fuse box panel door wide open. A good thing I make it a habit to check behind people that perform work for me, or else the next major rain storm could have caused electrical shortages.
Bottom line is that the technicians need better management support structures to provide proper customer service AND if you need a tank-less water heater repaired, Rainalds will NOT provide you with a fast or economical solution. I called Rainaldis back since they helped with a malfunction on my tank-less water heater a few months ago. I was a little bit surprised that I paid over $250 for a relief valve, but the unit stopped overflowing water again and John was very professional. This most recent time, our tankless water heater failed on 1/31/18. The first 2/1 appointment was cancelled without notification. The second 2/2 appointment was moved to the third day on 2/3. When John arrived, he acted very professional again, unfortunately he didn't do anything as I had already troubleshot the unit. Furthermore, he clarified that he wasn't the best tech to be helping with a tankless unit. Why after 3 days wasn't a tankless technician dispatched? Finally, 6 days later Nick arrived to take a look at installing the Takagi TK4 unit we had finally purchased on our own to avoid a high markup. Nick provided a few options, none of which included a same or next day repair. Again, Nick acted politely, but only provided excuses for why he could not meet our request...why wasn't a plan or options conducted before they showed up? Nick went on to share a labor rate for install of over $1700...as he agreed, for about a 4 hour job, which equates to over $400/hr! As a result, my family waited 3 more days until I came home from traveling from work to repair myself. After purchasing a few materials, I finished the job by myself in about 4 hours.
Geoffrey L.They are getting a one star review because they did not deliver on what they said they were going to. We had a leak happen Thursday night at about 9:00 pm. Once we had the water cleaned up. I filled out the information form online and was told I would be contacted shortly, I knew this probably meant the next morning. They did reach out right at 8:00 am and said that since our water was off we would be put on the priority list and someone would be out as soon as possible. At about 12:30pm I called back to get a update on if someone was going to be able to make it today, I was then told that there was no availability today and someone wouldn't be out until Monday. I explained I had been told this morning that a repairman would be able to make it. The lady I spoke to apologized for the miscommunication and said that someone had tried to reach out to me at 11:50 am but couldn't get a hold of me because the number was incorrect so I was taken off of the priority list. I don't understand how the company was able to call me at 8:00am but then suddenly didn't have my number correct. The lady then put me back on the priority list and said someone would be out at some point today. At 2:30pm I decided to call a second plumbing because I was getting nervous at this point I would be without water all weekend. They were able to send someone within the hour because as she explained, """"you have no water and still have a leak, that is first priority in our books."""" At 2:42pm I got a call that a technician was on the way, and he arrived at 3:05pm. If the first person I spoke to said we are extremely busy it probably won't happen, I would have just reached out to different companies this morning rather than waiting around all day and not getting anything done. I also did not appreciate when I called back to take myself off the priority list, the lady who answered the phone did not seem to care at all that I had been inconvenienced. It was not my fault the technician couldn't reach me the first time, I gave my phone number correctly and a back up phone number.
Worst service ever!! Called to schedule service for my water heater. They told me they did not have anyone available same day so put me on the schedule for the next day. We waited all day no one called nor showed up. I called the office twice during the day and after 5pm called the answering service to see when someone would show and they all said they have no idea. No timeframe can be given! Finally someone calls at 6:45pm and said if he was to come out now it would be after hours and we would have to pay after hour fees!! Completely ridiculous!! SERVICE WAS SCHEDULED THE DAY BEFORE AND THEY DIDN'T SHOW THEN WANTED TO CHARGE AFTER HOUR FEES!! First time calling this rip off company and will never again!
Anthony R.Long story, but here we go...Kitchen was damaged from a dishwasher leak. Having dealt with the insurance company and having the repairs completed, the last thing we needed to have a working kitchen after 2 months was to have the plumbing reconnected. I called Rainaldi's at about 8:30 on Friday morning and explained the situation. The woman who answered was very nice. YES, they would be able to be out the same day. I requested an afternoon appointment and was told, NO PROBLEM. At about 2:30, I hadn't heard anything so I called. Not to worry I was told, """"You're the next on on the list. As soon as the tech finishes the job he's on he'll be over."""" 4:00 came, still no call, so I checked in. I told them, it's getting late, this will take a few hours. """"You're the next one on the list...We work until all jobs are completed."""" Same conversation about an hour later. Finally, I get a call at 7:30 at night. The tech tells me he just finished up, blah blah blah. We go over what needs to be done. 2 to 3 hours of work. Reconnect the dishwasher, disposal, and faucet, he quotes me a price of $640. No thanks. If they had been honest with me a the first phone call and told me it would be 11 hours before someone could get there, I would have made another call. So, another weekend with no kitchen and I found a plumber to come out this morning (Monday) to do it all for $250. Good luck if you choose to use this company.
