Five star service. We moved to Nyack twenty-two years ago, into a 1930s cottage which we dearly love, with all it's quirks and imperfections. Raffa Plumbing, a family owned company, was highly recommended to us by neighbors and we have been more than happy ever since.
Raffa Plumbing is quick, and reliable, always professional with excellent work and has reasonable rates. They have corrected everything that can go wrong in a ninety year old house, from small leaks to large ones including water pouring down from a ceiling light, installing sump pumps in the crawl space under the kitchen floor, to redoing our bathroom from floor to ceiling. All work was excellent, we are completely satisfied. We love Chris Raffa and always ask for his technician Rob.
Five Stars.

We were having a problem with our upstairs York furnace, to wit, it would stop working and there were 3 red blinking lights. I called Raffa and they seemed nice. It was especially important that it get fixed because we have a 4 year old in the house. About 5 days later (11/9), Raffa's tech came in the morning. He was a super nice guy but he couldn't resolve the issue and didn't seem that experienced. After being there for a couple of hours and giving us a bill of nearly $400, we were told that a part needed to be ordered and that they would be back to us shortly, which was fine. Unfortunately, more than 2 days after we were told that, I heard nothing. Alas, I reached out to them at about 1:45 p.m. on 11/11 and spoke with ""Deanna"" (not sure of the spelling). I told her that we wanted to know what the status of the ordering of the part and when installation would take place. I also, again, told them that we have a 4 year old in the house so it was pretty important and that I didn't understand why no one had called us to let us know the status. She said that she was the only person there who ""calls people"" and that she was out yesterday and alas, that no one else was there to do her job. I am beyond empathetic to such a situation but given that she told me that they were ""extremely busy"" due to the season, I asked her why they would then effectively ""shut down"" that part of the business when she wasn't there. It just didn't make sense. She responded saying, well, I am here now and ""I reached out to you."" I corrected her to advise her that she did no such thing, that it was I who had to reach out to her. Again, I know stuff happens but it was bizarre. But the worst part of it was when she looked at my file, she said --- in sum and substance --- oh yeah, we looked at this and determined that we won't be able to fix it. Again, understandable but, WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME AND TELL ME THAT SO I COULD CALL SOMEONE ELSE??? It also begs the question of if they ever would have called me to let me know. So now, I am left with a nearly $400 bill and in the same situation I was before... Never again. Go elsewhere for people that actually care about you and your family.

Their techs know their stuff; their warranty is useless. In 2018, I had them service an AC system, and a week later one of them needed repairs that should have been handled during the first service. The boss Chris refused any sort of warranty or anything, and charged me for a second service call even after his guys told me everything was fine. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago, and a job they did for me 9 months ago failed (shower valves) and again Chris refused to warranty the job, stating ""I don't want to be married to old parts"". If you want a company who stands behind their work, go somewhere else, because Chris and this company will refuse.

I initially called Raffa to maintain my boiler. It turned out that the boiler was releasing a high level of Carbon Monoxide. I called Con Ed O&R who confirmed that it was off the chart. I had to shop for a new boiler. My Tech, Rob told me that Chris Raffa would give me a quote. Chris sent me a very thorough quote which included all the materials and labor. There were zero surprises. I got 4 other quotes. These quotes involved not only the same material but the same boiler in 2 cases. One guy wrote a quote vaguely on my wife's notepad ($2400 more). One guy sent me a quote with 10.15% tax on labor. Raffa was by far the lowest. 2 gentlemen came and installed the boiler. Rob was super helpful to my wife. Everything went seamlessly and there were no surprises. This is the best outcome that a person can ask for. I'm very happy with Raffa and how they work.

Tech was to have his boss Chris to give estimate for work I wanted done. He tech did not know any prices what so ever. Would never hire them again.

Sent a valid tech who seemed to know his trade. Dana made him come back to the office so she could work on my estimate - made me chase her for days afterward. Seemed to care less.
