Complete lack of service or professionalism from this company which is merging with Sierra Air. Sorry, I generally don't like to write negative reviews but these guys went over the line. This was a simple job for an annual checkup on the hydronic heating system. Took several weeks to get an appointment, another week to get a bid, and was impossible to contact to discuss the bid particulars. Rudy claimed one of my heating zones was not working and needed replacing...odd because we have not noticed any issues with any heat zones. His bid claimed other parts were also not working. After another week of trying but being unable to discuss this with Rudy, I got a message from his office person that he was refusing to do the job. If I could give a zero rating, this company would deserve it.

The new company taking over was nice on the initial call, but has since dropped the ball. There are enough other HVAC companies to use in Tahoe...none of which get negative reviews like this company has.

R&S misdiagnosed the issue with my furnace, misrepresented facts and substantially overcharged me. They said they fixed it after spending 90 minutes testing the unit and closing gaps in ducting. Then as they were about to leave, the furnace shut down again and they went back to evaluate again. After another hour they said I needed a $500 inducer motor at 3400RPM. I asked for the part number to verify online and they refused to tell me the part number. So I called the manufacturer who told me that I needed a 3000RPM motor (i.e. the same RPM that was indicated on the existing motor) for $119, which I ordered for next day delivery. I ended up hiring another furnace company who actually diagnosed the real problem (condensation drainage). When R&S still tried to overcharge me for their services, I told them that I used another service, who R&S wanted to call to verify the work they did. I clearly told them that they did not have authorization from me to inquire about my invoice. They called any way and misrepresented me by telling the other company I had given them authorization. Fortunately I had called the other company before and the office knew to tell R&S that they did not have authorization. Its one thing to make a mistake in diagnosing a problem, but this company cannot be trusted. I would never ever recommend using R&S.

It was 23rd of December with no heat in the house and plenty of snow falling in Incline Village. We called R&S at 8am, by 10am we had a call back and Matthew was on the way. He identified problem, fixed it and stay an extra 30 minutes to make sure no problems were recurring or nothing more in depth could be happening. He identified possible future problems with the boiler, and was totally honest, quick and friendly. Exactly what was needed. They are always available, give them a call if you need any problem around Incline. They said they will be working Christmas too, just like Santa!

Just had Rudy, from R&S Plumbing, Heating and Appliance come by to check out my hydronic heating system. He was unbelievably knowledgeable and personable too. He went over my system with me, and found it needed no repairs...and then he didn't charge me. He is turning the business over to his proteges now, and is teaching them the value of taking care of customers and integrity foremost. What a wonderful person to learn from. I am sure the business will continue to prosper with this kind of approach. I will definitely call them when I need a new water heater or plumbing service...a pleasure to do business with.

I don't normally send in reviews but I thought I'd better after reading the negative nonsensical review already on here about this long time business. I find it hard to believe that the complainer actually dealt with Rudy of the R&S Heating that I know!

I have been using R&S to work on my furnaces and appliances for almost 40 years. One could not ask for a more talented and dedicated owner than Rudy. He has come out to assist me rain or shine, in snowstorms and other inclement weather over the years. When needed parts were not readily available, he was able to rebuild parts on the spot, scavenge from his stash of supplies, and otherwise MacGyver my furnace to get me through the cold spell or emergency, and always at a fair price. Most of the younger repairmen have no clue how to rebuild a part if necessary.

Many will rue the day when Rudy actually retires. Highly recommended!!
