I did file a small claim against rick, and I won the case. However, these people filed bankruptcy and moved to another place. The court could not find them and dismissed the case. If anybody know where they live right now, please post. Thanks.

Richard (Rick) D'Alessandro is nothing short of a con artist and a crook. His business card says he's ""licensed and insured"", neither of these is true. He'll tell you he has ""licensed plumbers working for him"" when you confront him about his lack of license, but these mysterious plumbers will never show up on the job, no matter how vehemently you insist. He'll tell you he'll bring 2 or 3 laborers to your house and get the job done real quick when he's already way behind. They won't show ...

He will push for a large up-front deposit, and then delay, delay, delay. When he does (occasionally) show up to work, he's not likely to stay on the job for longer than a couple of hours, and then leave you with a huge mess to clean up.

He pressured us to start the job in a hurry because of the materials being on sale at the supply house. Supposedly better and cheaper than ""The Home Depot Stuff"". These materials (by the way) have never appeared at my house.

He'll come up with every excuse under the sun why he can't show up on your job today ... but say he'll definitely be there bright and early tomorrow. (incidentally, ""bright and early"", if he shows at all is somewhere around 11:00 - 1:00) He most likely won't show until you're jumping up and down red in the face screaming at him. (When you finally get him to answer the phone after calling for days)

He'll tell you these reviews are about his no-good son. Trust me ... they're not. This review is NOT about the son (if he even exists).

He estimated our job to take 3-5 days and we'd be without heat for 2-3 days. Three months later, and no heat in my house since late April we finally had to fire him and cut our losses We are now undergoing the process of bringing charges against him and filing a small claims suit. He's done so little work in our home since he started this job that all of the ""reputable"" plumbers we're getting quotes from to finish the job are giving me estimates close to the original starting price on the job. Not one of them has a good thing to say about the quality of the work that has been done. It's all ham-fisted looking. Huge uneven holes cut in the walls, holes drilled in the wrong place, etc., etc..

DO NOT ... repeat ... DO NOT let this man within 100 feet of your home. He's a liar, a cheat and a con-man. He'll talk a good game, but in the end, you'll be sorry you ever met him.

If I could give 0 stars, I would! He is a con artist. Please don't hire him. HIS PLUMBING LICENSE HAS BEEN REVOKED. Check professional licensing board at MASS.GOV for proof.

We hired Rick to redo all the plumbing in an older colonial home. He was paid a percentage upfront and began the work quickly. Soon into the job, he came to us for more upfront money to keep the job going. At the same time, he began sharing hard luck stories about family illnesses, etc. He seemed to be working quickly, so we gave him another large check. At that point we trusted him. After he cashed the check, we didn't see much of him. He made up lots of excuses as to why he wasn't on the job. Finally, after not showing up for weeks, we were forced to fire him and asked for our money back -- I know, laughable. It's 4 months later and we are out thousands of dollars for work he never completed.

Rick is a con artist. Don't be fooled. He may try to tell you these reviews are about his son, but don't believe him. The only reason we hired him was because he was referred to us by someone we respect. Unfortunately, he didn't know him as well as he thought. He was conned as well.

I imagine there are many similar stories out there. Please share them here so we can stop this guy! I'm so upset by this, I plan to put reviews all over the internet and do my best to put him out of business.
