I called Tom Michalik Builders for an estimate on a small kitchen and bathroom renovation. I spoke to Tom on the phone and we set up an appointment for the estimate. When Tom arrived I explained to him that we are thinking of selling the home. The reason we want to reno is to maximize our profit. I didn't even get the chance to explain to him what we wanted done when he immediately stopped me and said they do not do small renovations for selling purposes. He said it would cost me 20-30k just to do a small kitchen like the one we have. When I spoke to Tom on the phone I told him we are looking for someone that can do a small kitchen and bathroom renovation. For him to completely dismiss the opportunity was unprofessional and misleading. On his business pamphlet that was mailed to me it clearly states they offer ""simple, affordable rates for those annoying home repairs."" In addition to kitchen and bathroom renovations. It doesn't say anything on his pamphlet that you have to have a reason for the renovation. The only positive was that he showed up on time for the appointment. Hence the two stars!
