My home warranty sent me to this plumber. I called them and made an appointment. Guy came out and looked at the bathroom sink and said he would need to check with the warranty to make sure they would cover the part. If so, they would order it and come back. A week later I called them and asked if the part is covered. I was told yes it was so I scheduled the following Wednesday day off to be home for the repair. I was told they would be at my home between 8 - 12 on 3/28/18. That day no show, no call. I called them to ask if they were still coming. I was told the home warranty didn't cover the part needed for repair. I said that's not what I was told when I scheduled this appointment! I said in that case are you going to reimburse my deductible ($100)? He said no that was the charge for the first service call. WTH?! He was in my house maybe 15 minutes! I hung up and called my warranty company and complained about the poor service and asked if they even knew about all these negative reviews? I cancelled my home warranty due to the shady service providers. I will just go back to my regular plumber and pay for service. At least with them I know it will be done correctly and they will provide excellent customer service.

Well, they sent me an email asking for my opinion and here it is: I would never use them again. They charged me $360 for work which took 18 minutes and less than $18 worth of parts and that was after a $50 charge to look at it the first time.. When they handed me the bill, I asked if I could get a detailed list of the parts. They said sure, but never gave me that list. I would never, ever use them again.

Got the job done and timely. Great communication. Downside, they stole $65 from me!! They collected the money from the trade fee on site (cash)..months later my company says it wasn't paid! We were given the run around and looks like They aren't taking my word that I paid their tech on site. My warranty said they can't let me make a claim until it's paid. Luckily my tech fixed what was wrong... all else said, this company is crooked. It only has one star for crying out loud!!

Mom had a leaky faucet. We bought a new one to replace it with but did not have the skills to install ourselves. We put in a request through our home warranty company, and RL Allen was assigned to come fix the problem. Scheduling contact called us and gave the window for when to expect the techs to arrive. They called prior to the window and arrived at the stated time. All is well so far.
I then get a call from the tech on site, Jake, and he advised our home warranty has denied the repair. Frustration was in Jake's voice because he had been on hold for 15 minutes with our warranty company, and our warranty company tried to reach us but nobody answered. We still paid the $75 service call fee for them to come diagnose; however, Jake mentioned that he had to drive all the way from Mesquite to get to the house for only $75. I don't know why this was stated to us, as to somehow make it seemed like we wasted his time.
Since the warranty was denied and mom's been without water for several days, I asked how much it would cost (since they were on site) to swap our old faucet with the new one we purchased. We were quoted $275, which seems very steep to me considering a skilled plumber could probably swap it out within 30 minutes. When I asked if they could work with us on the price, Jake advised that's what the company charged and he was not flexible. However, if I were Jake's neighbor he could probably charge me less. Who tells that to a customer? These little comments are really unnecessary. Your customers are in a situation where they need skilled, professional help, but to make them feel as if you're burdening them is uncalled for and unfortunately we're not part of the neighborly discount club.
Mom is on a fixed income and we were unable to justify the $275+$75 to change out the faucet, so we ended up calling another local plumber who was able to do it for much less. RL Allen Plumbing received $75 for a service call to look at our leaky faucet and talk on the phone for 15 minutes. There's a reason there are so many similarly rated reviews on both Google and Yelp. Stay away, and if you see your home warranty assign RL Allen to your claim, please call and ask for a different service company.

Very Very Very Worst Plumbing company. Do not ever call or work with them. They have in-experienced technicians, customer service is rude. They will come and collect 70$ from u. If ur home warranty company sends them, call them and ask them to send new contractor. Very dangerous thing, is they not only fix the issue, they will break things and blame it on u saying it was already broken. In my house, they came to fix internal washer of handle. Technician couldn't unscrew the tap, in that process he broke the screw, he said he has to cut open and get entire handle, at ur house they will say and take photo and promise that they will come and fix the issue, so that they can escape and leave the house. After that u r on your own. Very bad. Stay away from these guys. Spread the word so others won't be a victim

Home warranty sent out R L Allen. They called 30 minutes before they arrived, just as promised. I told them the list of small repairs, just as I had told the scheduler on the phone the day before and the morning of, and they looked at each. They went outside and called someone to discuss the repairs. When they came back in, I was informed they could only fix 2 items and that the others had to be a separate service. I contacted my home warranty company and they added the additional repairs to the list so that I wouldn't have to pay the additional service fee. The plumbers then fixed one problem, informed me they couldn't fix the other and left. In reality, they had broken off the handle. When the office called to take the service fee over the phone, I asked what they were going to do about the broken handle. She said it would be fixed the next week when they came out to finish the repairs.
The following week on the day R L Allen is scheduled to come between 1 and 4 pm, I received a call from my home warranty company saying based on the plumber's notes, NOTHING would be covered by them, that I should have been able to see the tiny leaks and they are now my problem. When I finally sorted it out with the warranty, there was only 20 minutes until the end of the plumber's "time window" left. I called the office expecting to hear someone was running late. Instead, I hear "he's not coming." She tells me the supervisor will call me back as soon as he is off a call. 40 minutes later, I call back and speak to her again. No answers as to why they aren't coming, why they didn't let me know they wouldn't be coming, what they plan to do about the broken handle or how they plan to refund me for the time and energy wasted waiting on them.
Steer clear of this place. If they can't even call to let someone know they aren't coming, how can you trust they won't do further damage to your home?

This a worthless company. Two inexperienced young punks Tanner and some other one that mumbles came out. Was forced to use them through home warranty company. If they aren't going to make a fortune off of repair they will make up something to submit to the warranty company so they will deny repair. They are also VERY slow at submitting report to home warranty company. Very unethical and horrible customer service. Beware and don't waste time with these crooks!

Very bad experience with R.l. Allen Plumbing Co. It seemed that he joined plumbing business a few months back.
Our Home Warranty company American Home Shield sent our request to R.l. Allen Plumbing. Our toilet was rocking because it had a bad flange and the screws were loosened. The technician come over and he said that the screws were over tightened. We the screws were out then how did he know that the screws were over tightened.
Second thing he said that the toilet was not properly anchored. Well a house built in 2001 would have anchors and flanges according to that time. The toilet lasted for 15 years and now its screws were rusted. What does it had to do with not properly installed toilet.
Shame on R.l. Allen Plumbing Co Inc to employee such non sense brains.
I am highly unsatisfied with the service quality of this company.
I want to ask the technician the following two questions.
The cast iron flange was embedded in the floor and had extra holes to tuck it down to the floor.
When the flange is embedded in the floor and is not shaking then why do we need anchors?
The flange was rusted and the anchors holding the toilet came out of the rusted metal flange.
2-How does the technician know that the bolts were extra tight, just guessing?
A toilet built in 2001 with cast iron flange was up to date and properly installed at that time.
It lasted for 15 years and now the cast iron flange rusted so the anchors came out of the rusted metal piece.
The AHS is saying that its not covered under my warranty because of improper installation.
How?

Our home warranty sent out RL Allen to look at a clog in main sewer line.
Sent out Tanner and another guy. Both guys were very inexperienced. They came in the house with their muddy shoes and turned on water everywhere. Then they both went outside to run the snake in the main sewer line. They found roots, so they immediately stopped the snake, but did not come into the house to turn off the water. I did not know they had left running water unattended and had stopped snaking until I walked into my bathroom to find water lapping over the sides of the shower pan and water was several inches deep on the floor and the carpet in my hall and the two adjoining bedrooms was soaked. I turned off all the water myself before walking outside to tell ask them what they were doing and why they had the water running. They said they had to recreate the problem. Really? You had to recreate a flood in my house?! Then one of the guys came back into my house with a tool to try to "unclog" the shower, which was never the problem, once again they are inexperienced and clueless on how to fix the problem; and again came into my house with muddy feet! They said they couldn't do anything about the roots because the warranty company makes them stop once they find roots. They said their boss would call us about running a camera and coming out with a tool to take care of the roots. Initially they told us it would be an additional $150, then they said $250.
That evening their boss, Chris, called to tell us that he could come out with the camera to look at our problem and he could also cut out the roots, but the cost was now $350. We agreed to the $350 because at this point we were desperate and had been without adequate plumbing for 4 days. I told him about the problems we had with his guys. He apologized, but did not offer any discounts nor did he offer to take care of the flooding issues, etc. Chris came out the next day and ran his camera and cut out the roots. He only ran his camera about 10 feet under the house and then he stopped. He also ran it in the front yard. For the money he charged, we thought he would run it through the entire system. He told us that a section of our cast iron pipe was rusted out under our house and that we would need to replace a section of our cast iron pipe. He also said that there were some roots in the pipe under the tree in our front yard. We asked for a bid. A few days later he submitted his bid of $8,000.
We got additional bids based solely on the bid from RL Allen -- the other plumbers did not come out I simply sent them the scope of work (not the pricing) provided by RL Allen. The bid from RL Allen was the highest, the others came in at $5,750 and $6,000. Obviously we weren't going with RL Allen since they were $2,000 more. And since they had stated some of our cast iron pipe was rusted out, we wanted our entire system checked out before any work was done. We had another company come out to check our system. They ran their cameras through our entire system, they even had to get up on the roof to run through the vents (and they only charged $250) and did not find any rusted out sections. In fact, they said our pipes were in good shape. In addition, the only place the roots had come in was in our cleanout. They were not present where Chris had supposedly seen them in the pipe under our tree in the front yard.
So, Chris, was dishonest and was going to charge us $8,000 for work that did not have to be done. The only problem we did have was the spot where the roots were growing in. The cost of the fix (added a two-way cleanout which replaced the section of pipe where the roots were coming in) with another plumber ended up costing $875. By the way, we highly recommend the plumber we did use, DeLong Services, Inc.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED! I shouldn't even give one star, but the website won't allow me to not give any. Used R.L. Allen through Nations Home Warranty. They came out the first time to fix the master toilet, but it's been running ever since. Went back through Nations to get them back out to fix it. Called Nations Wednesday. As of Friday, still had not received a phone call, so had to call back to Nations. When they finally called me (Friday afternoon), I asked for a 1pm to 5pm time slot Monday, which she said should be no problem, but to call first thing Monday morning at 9am. I explained to them my wife was in the hospital and I had taken the day off to handle doctor's appts for my kids in the morning. When I called back Monday morning she tells me I am scheduled 9am to 1pm... seriously? She asked if a 45 minute phone call would help and I said yes. The technician then calls me at 12:18pm and says "I'm ready to head over." He had no idea about the 45 minute heads up, but said he would honor it. I told him I was dropping my daughter off at school (which is 30 minutes from my house) and I would be home by 1:15pm, which I was, but after a few phone calls back and forth, he left my house. He never even called me back, had the office do it. So now the job is not done... over a 12 minute difference by my calculation. I told them the predicament I was in and that this was very important to me. They did not care about me or my situation. This was all over a job that they did not do right the first time. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT COMPANY. I already filed a complaint with Nations and told them I will not do business with R.L Allen Plumbing again.
