John is great...a friendly, honest and generally good guy. Family owned business. Watch out and BEWARE of other RJ Plumbing copycats. John is the Redondo beach location. I didn't give a 5 star rating because he tends to be a bit pricy, but he does the job right. I guess you get what you pay for, right?

I called RJ Plumbing for a plumbing emergency first thing on a Monday morning. It took a couple of hours for Karen to call me back, but she was very helpful, understanding & pleasant to deal with. She scheduled two sub-contractors to come out that day - one from Eagle Eye Detections, a leak detection specialist, and the other from TFM mold & water damage.
This review deals mainly with these two gentlemen, since RJ didn't actually perform the work.

Anthony from Eagle Eye Detections showed up earlier than expected and spent a LOT of time isolating a slow leak in a pipe feeding the kitchen faucet. He was very professional, and not only found the leak, but was able to fix it on the spot for an extra charge. The only issue I have is that he hooked up an air line to the pipes to force the water out, but didn't stick around long enough to ensure that all of the air was bled out correctly. If I didn't have a basic understanding of plumbing, I would've had to have him come out a second time to figure out why the supply lines inside the toilet tanks blew off of their connections and leak onto the bathroom floors.

Thomas from TFM water damage started the cleanup immediately. Actually both of these gentlemen were done well before my insurance could send someone out to estimate the damage. Thomas is probably a little too pushy - I had to rein him in, so my agent could get a mold specialist out to assess that damage. It's apparent that he doesn't like to wait.

Judging by the previous reviews of RJ Plumbing, I'd probably call them again when another issue arises. I'm dismayed that they're only available M-F, since practically every plumbing emergency I've ever encountered seems to happen after hours and on weekends.

Great experience and reasonable price.

I heard a sound like I had left a hose running. After checking all the hoses, pool, faucets, etc the sound could still be heard from under the house. I called RJ based on the great reviews here on Yelp. It was a Friday and I really didn't have an expectation that someone would be available. As luck would have it, John had a break in another job and came over within an hour. Thank goodness he did. There was a small hole in a pipe that was shooting water non stop. John was able to put a clamp on it to stop the water. He returned the week following to replace the pipe section. It was so wet under the house it made sense to wait a few days for it to dry out.

He was very professional and transparent with everything he did. Showed me photos before the clamp was applied and even handed me the section of pipe he replaced.

I have heard so many terrible stories from friends about various local plumbers. I have told all of them to put RJ into their phone directory. Professional, clean, and honest. Plus John's wife who answered the phone was really great too. Once she heard my story she knew it was a pin hole leak and it needed to be addressed quickly. If she had not tried to see if John had a break in the other job he was working that day, I would of had to find someone else. She didn't over promise, but she sure did come through.

We have used RJ plumbing for over 10 years. Services were needed at our personal residence and on investment properties. We are local Realtors and include RJ Plumbing on our ""important contacts"" sheet. Everyone that has had the need for a plumber has been thrilled with their competitive pricing and friendly service. When in need of a plumber this is the company to call!

I was very pleased to receive the phone call with an apology and respected the fact that no excuses were made. He admitted that he dropped the ball on this (his words). Most would come up with all kinds of excuses. I had 5 different plumbers come to give me an estimate on this job and only one followed through and all of them were highly reviewed here. I don't know any more what service to trust. Home Advisor's referrals were AWFUL and the guy I hired from Red Beacon (Home Depot's referral service) was BEYOND HORRIBLE!! What does someone have to do to get quality people who follow through with what they say?

Oh John, why is your service so fantastic?! Best plumbing experience I've ever had. (I know... kinda a weird statement)

Let's be honest, We all get a little anxiety with plumbers... It's like a mechanic for your house. You have one problem and then they show up and allllllll of a sudden they disclose that your house is on the verge some catastrophic disaster... (I'm sure you can relate)

Fear not, RJ plumbing is not the same!

First, he was super respectful and removed his shoes before entering (we don't wear shoes in our house). So, super big thumbs up for that!

John was so personable, prompt, and courteous. He took his time to explain the deets before the service and recommended other options to save money.

Highly recommended. Perhaps I should break the toilet so I can have this awesome experience all over again. ;)

PS. His wife was super nice and friendly also.

It's so refreshing to know there is plumber like John of RJ Plumbing that exists in this world. He is so professional and immediately made me feel like I made the right choice in hiring him to install my new dryer. I called several plumbers and RJ Plumbing was the only one who followed through in a timely manner and called me back with an estimate to install my dryer. John was on time and was done with the installation very quickly. He also saved me money on parts I had bought for the dryer, so I was able to take it back to Sears for a refund. Before he left, he also arranged for someone to pick up my old dryer for free. That was a relief since I really was not looking forward to taking care of that issue. John was personable, honest and seemed very knowledgable. An added plus is he only lives a few blocks away from me. I really liked the idea of having a plumber that I could count on. I would have no problem recommending RJ Plumbing to any of my friends.

Our hot water heater burst today and John fro RJ Plumbing saved the day. He was on time, courteous and charged a fair price. He also discovered that our main shutoff valve was broken and repaired that for us too. It was a pleasure doing business with him.
