Mother of four/tenant, being kicked out of my rental house because the owner of this company (who didn't have enough manpower and had to come out himself) couldn't figure out the issue due to lack of skill.. but blamed my family for 3/4-1"" of water on the ceiling of the 1st floor when it was actually a roof leak in the end.
Emergency service request on a Sunday morning after realizing our sump pump failed and it was supposed to rain all day. The operator quickly answered the phone and was professional. A service technician called me back within 10min and was very professional and explained everything, including the emergency call out charge on a weekend. Called 5 total companies to get their rates and suggestions and 3 called me back. Out of the 3, the R.E Robertson tech (Jake) was the most friendly, professional, and willing to work. Jake was at our home within 30min driving a professional looking R.E Robertson van, wore a mask, shoe covers, put down a drop cloth around the work site and got the job done quickly. While inspecting the job, he explained the steps thoroughly with me. He had everything he needed and got the job done cleanly, quickly and professionally.
I had a failed heat pump which meant our sun room was only able to be used on those days when it was mild so the room was not too hot or too cold. I contacted RE Robertson to have them provide options. They came over and were very conscience of the need for social distancing. Dave the HVAC manager came by and looked at the sun-room and the old HVAC unit. He discussed different options including a 'hotel' like unit in the lower wall, putting a single room unit in the wall and replacing the old unit with a modern unit. He was very helpful in describing what would be needed for each option then provided his recommendation and a quoted price. We decided on the traditional unit since it would not require additional electrical or carpenter work the other units would require.
Dave scheduled the work and the team came on time and once again were very attentive to the social distancing and wearing face masks during the removal of the old unit and the installation of the new one. The entire job took just a few hours and the team made sure everything was cleaned up and carted off.
The new unit does a great job of keeping the sun-room comfortable. We have been using the room nearly every day. Having this extra space in these stay at home COVID-19 days has been a blessing.
Thanks again to Dave and the whole R.E. Robertson team. They all did a great job and I would highly recommend them for your HVAC or Plumbing needs.
Ashley R.What a lifesaver the wonderful employees at this company have been. Not only were they meticulous in ensuring that our issue was solved but they also helped us resolve a few other pesky issues that we hadn't been able to solve. They came for an emergency call were pleasant and educational. They will be our go to plumbing company for years to come!
We have been a Robertson customer for 20 years and have always found them responsible. Unfortunately that changed this year. We have a crack in a wall hung toilet so we called them. They sent some one out the same day to measure and assess. That was 3 weeks ago. Since then, despite three follow up calls, we have heard NOTHING, not even ""we can't find a replacement"". Very disappointing.
They agreed to do a job on a property that had to have water shut off then cancelled 3 days later saying they had a job that was going to take an additional 3 weeks
Dave H.This is a good company. They had previously serviced my daughter's HVAC in Severna Park and my furnace was long over due for a PM. All contact was by email, svc was scheduled as I requested and rescheduled at my request due to a conflict. Got an email back first thing in the AM offering me the first Appt, which I jumped at. Rep showed up on time, was professional and knowledgeable. Service was performed, my questions were answered and the Rep was out of here in about 45 min. Furnace is good to go for another season. Fan seems to be running quieter since he left. Recommend this company for its professionalism.
Robertson did the plumbing and AC for our development in Grasonville. On move in we had several problems with leaking AC lines which took them several visits to fix even though it was just a hole in the tubing. Then we had a soil pipe in the crawl space collapse (not enough hangers were used) and the plumber we had out to fix it told us the work was pretty sketchy. Now, years later another soil pipe has broken free dumping waste under the house. Plumbers I've been calling say they don't hear about it much at all but twice in the same house...not so much. I do not recommend this company to anyone.
Stay away from this company! Terrible customer service and they did not stand behind their work. I had them replace my hot water heater just under two years ago. When their technician arrived at my home I found out they brought a slightly different model HWH with them then I ordered but we'd already drained our tank so I let them install it. Big mistake! The technician was not trained properly and had to contact the HWH mfr several times in order to wire it. It took twice as long as it should have. I was nervous about this but paid the bill and hoped for the best.
I called them back the next day as my hot water didn't seem as hot as it was previously even though the new thermostats were set to the same level. They sent out a tech who bumped up the thermostats and it didn't do much. So I just lived with it.
Just over a year later (after the full warranty ran out), I went to my basement and smelled something burning. Turns out the HWH thermostat had completely melted -and I'm lucky my house didn't catch fire. When I called RE Robertson, it took most of the day to send out two young technicians who did nothing but unhook all wiring from the thermostat. I believe when they called their mgr and described the situation, he gave them that instruction. Luckily I'd already taken photos that I later sent to the mfr. when they requested them. The technicians called their mgr who said I needed to call an electrician. They offered no help at all! BTW, electricians don't touch internal HWH wiring; too much liability.
It appeared that since the wiring wasn't done correctly in the first place, over time it heated and melted the wiring and the the thermostat casing.
Long story short, it cost me $800, two days without hot water, and a ton of stress for a reputable company to come and work with the tank mfr. to replace the HWH with a brand new one. Thank goodness the mfr stood behind their product, but with the HWH regulations changed last year, I had to replace my HWH with a lower quality unit since they weren't making the same ones any longer.
My recommendation - save yourself a big headache and find someone else to do your electrical work.
Dave B.I've been a Robertson customer since the '70s. In July, I had hot water problems and sought help. Experienced tech arrived OK, but did not diagnose issue. Furnace folks did. Anyway, I directed they install a mixing valve for safety. $100 part. Bill was $505.60 for his time and materials. Just back from Seattle and even there, this is a rip. Yes, I got $100 reduction after complaint.
