The worst experience I've had with a plumber, contractor, or otherwise. I received R.E. Glenn as a referral from a friend, and had used them on a water heater install, which went fine. I then hired them to replace a toilet, a kitchen faucet, and replace the angle stops throughout the house, after they gave me an estimate at a lower price than another estimate I had gotten for the same work. However, every part of their service had horrible results:

1. The reason why their estimate was lower was because they miscounted the number of angle stops in my house by 3. This meant I had to pay about $200 more than the estimate.

2. I had emailed Russell about specifications on which toilet I can choose. His response: ""Most toilets have a 12"" rough in for the drain."" Of course, not being a plumber professional myself, I had no idea what that meant, so I went ahead and ordered a toilet with a 12"" rough. The day of the install, the technicians discovered I had a 10"" rough, only after disconnecting the old toilet and attempting to install the new one. This meant I had to return the new toilet and wait on a new one to come in. They still charged my for the hours spent on the install attempt. I did not have a working toilet for several days, plus I would have to pay yet again to get the new toilet installed.

3. The technician forgot to reconnect the laundry drain hose after replacing the angle stops. After they left, I did a load of laundry, went out to run an errand, and when I came back, my garage was flooded. Luckily, I don't keep a lot of things on my garage floor, so only the bottom of some boxes were damaged. In this instance, the technician took responsibility and came back the next day to help dry the garage floor.

4. A few days after the job, I opened up the cabinet under my kitchen sink, and it was entirely flooded. I called them to address it on 7/2, but they did not contact me back until 7/5. Granted, one of those days was 4th of July, but they could have at least contacted me on 7/3. They came out and blamed the water leak on a bad part, even though they were able to actually adjust something, and the leak has completely stopped since. If it was a bad part, how is it not leaking right now without the part being replaced? My belief is that the technician accidentally knocked something out of place during the kitchen faucet replacement, but they are blaming the water damage caused to my kitchen cabinet on a bad part, because they don't want to take accountability.

I ended up calling a different plumber (Black Mountain Plumbing) to finish the toilet install.

Two of R.E. Glenn plumbers were on the condo property that I reside at. I happened to be outside my unit when they came up behind me and asked for directions to another unit. I stood up and turned around only to find both of them approx 1-2 feet away from me, while asking me questions. I was not happy that they were not farther from me due to the the we pandemic we are experiencing right now. I backed up, helped them find the unit (they hadn't read their instructions well and were wandering around when they came up to me) and as I pointed to the unit one plumber looked up from his phone ad said ""oh yes, it's XXXX"" address.
I then called the company and asked to speak to a supervisor or manager. The person who answered said 'What can I help you with""? I asked if he was indeed a supervisor he said yes. I explained the situation. He only said he ""would talk to them"". No further questions, NO apology. NO interest or concern in his voice at all. I gave him the address where the plumbers were going so he would at least know who to talk to. Appalling.

He spent an ample amount of time diagnosing the problem and had the equipment to scope the wall, take video and pictures so that I could see what was happening in the wall cavity in real time. Eric came shortly after my call. Did not make me sign a contract. Came into the house saw the problem 2 backed up sinks and one leaking under the sink. Fixed it all in 15 minutes, gave me a 10 % discount and I could not be more pleased. This was after spending and entire morning only to get scammed by a crooked ARS technician who arrived 3 hours late tried to get me to sign a contract and charge 3 times more than Russell plumbing. Russell Plumbing has been taking good care of me for 40 years. They are my story and I am sticking to them. Highly recommended service by honest and skilled technicians.

The worst experience of my life! Please read.

JUST THE FACTS:

Day 1
An upstairs shower leaked through the downstairs ceiling.
A restoration company cut open the ceiling, and applied blowers to dry out everything.

Day 2
8:30 am - Two plumbers arrive.
8:30am - 9:00am Plumbers diagnose problem and quote $365 (remember this number).
9:00 am - 10:30 am Plumbers drive around town to find parts (2 rubber pipe couplings).
10:30 am - 10:55 am Plumbers repair, clean up, and pack up.

Day 3
Received invoice for:

GP: That's the rate.
Me: But it sounds like I'm being double charged. An hourly rate, plus the type of work.
GP: That's the rate.
Me: I see I was charged for 2 hours of labor. It was only 1 hour with 1 1/2 hours to find a part.
GP: Driving is part of the price.
Me: I can see driving to the site, but not driving around town to find a common part that should be on the truck. I have 3 in the garage.
GP: Then maybe you should have used them.
Me: I'm not going to pay for driving around town.
GP: I'll put a lien on your house.
Me: Why am I being charged for an apprentice. That's your cost of business.
GP: That's the rate. My guys told you $365.
Me: They gave me an estimate of $365. The invoice must justify the estimate.
GP: That's the rate.

MY OPINION

The plumbers were very bad. They told me they didn't know how several pinholes got in the pipe. Easy! It was simple copper corrosion. Green all around the area.

Here's the best part. Notice how the invoice is exactly the quoted price? What about those 2 items of quantity 6? Six of what? I forgot to ask. No charge for parts? That was generous, ha. And they knew exactly how long they would be driving around town and repairing.

Looks like to me the quantity/rates were totally fabricated to total exactly $365.

I hired Russell for leak detection and the subsequent repair after I received a notice from the City about a leak on my property line. I had received a couple of quotes for leak detection prior and his rate was competitive. He was easy to get a hold of and responsive throughout the process. I was able to schedule the repair within a reasonable amount of time as this was not an emergency situation and the leak was outside. No one was home during either the leak detection appointment or repair but Russell sent me photos and videos of the leak and repair. I was emailed the invoice along with the photos of repair for posterity and it was very easy to submit my payment online. The entire process was seamless and as painless as possible. I would definitely recommend R.E. Glenn Plumbing and will be contacting them in the future for any plumbing matters.

I would never use RE Glenn ever again. They were used as a subcontractor on a project for our bathroom. I really should've used my regular plumber as we asked pricing and they said they would get that to us and never did before starting the project. Needless to say, we were OVERCHARGED for a simple project. I would NEVER recommend or use RE Glenn!!!
