Called early on Saturday morning. They sent Miguel, who arrived in 30 minutes. I was quoted a fair hourly price prior to his visit. He diagnosed and repaired the job within an hour. I definitely recommend.

These guys are legit. We had a backed up kitchen sink this morning. I called at 8AM, and the woman who answered said someone could be at my place between 9 and 10AM. AMAZING. But even more amazing, the plumber, Juan, showed up at 845! The problem was resolved by 9AM. He even went down to investigate the building utility room which is right below my kitchen to make sure there wasn't anything else that could be backed up as a result of my kitchen sink. Pricing was extremely reasonable considering how quickly they came.

I've done business RD plumbing for several years and own multiple properties. I made a service call for a backed up shower and sink at one of my units. The technician came out and used his automatic coil snake to clear the main line. I received a call the same day and the tenant complained about the same issue. I called and the next day the same plumber came out and ran a snake where the kitchen clean out is located. I asked him why he did not check this the prior day. He said it was a separate issue. Well, I received my invoice and charged $206.50 for running the cable 150 feet. The clean out is located in 20 feet up the property line, and the property is 120 ft deep. I also received an invoice for an additional $85.00 for plumber to run a cable 15 ft for the kitchen clean out. I called Donna to tell inform her this was the same issue. She said she spoke with the plumber and they were two separate jobs. Really! I was stunned by the lack of customer service, the way she treated a long standing customer. I then questioned her on the amount. She said we went up on our prices. I called two plumbing companies to price check. One company charges $99.00 for 100 ft fir a main line clean out. This is all that's needed in most Santa Monica properties since most clean outs are located midway on the property and average 90 to 120 ft deep. The second quoted $150 for running 150 ft, they asked for the clean out location and the depth of the property. Plain and simple, R&D plumbing is a rip off. In addition, I felt the take it or leave behavior of not caring about their customers is sickening. I hope you get prices, check the scope of what they did, and how they billed. R&D IS A SCAM COMPANY and could care less about it's customers. I will never use them again. This is the first time I've taken the time to write a review. DO NOT USE THEM!

This is one of the best plumbing companies in Los Angeles. I had a lovely Dutch Colonial home in Windsor Square in the early 90's. The vintage bathroom had a dripping faucet coming out of the original subway tile. I had several companies try to stop the leak and Reuben was the only guy that knew what he was doing. Now that I am a realtor I always recommend them to my clients.

We've had them work here several times .They are always reliable and professional . This last time he had to install a toilet and fix a leak in a pedestal sink that was very hard to access. He followed through perfectly and we are very grateful!

They came highly recommended. Nice enough plumber. He fixed my sinks and flooded my bathroom and carpet. It was an accident--but we lost hundreds of dollars of things because of water damage and our carpet had to be cleaned. When I called the same day to complain I was told that someone would get back to me once the company had talked to the guy who had done the work. No one ever called me back--so I followed up and was told that my wife didn't know where to turn off the water----after living here for 25 years??? Seriously. What a load of bull. If it was an accident that caused the plumber to flood our place (instead of stupidly not turning off the water) - then fine----but DON'T lie about it! Donna (the owner) had a bad attitude the whole time and finally apologized when confronted with the point that no one ever got back to me (and admitted they would not have if I hadn't followed up). Poor customer relation skills at least. They did not understand the customers point of view---just sent a bill. DONT USE THIS COMPANY-THEY DON'T TREAT PEOPLE WELL.

He was calm and professional and quickly addressed the issues. Best of all I was able to save all the frozen food that had been removed from the refrigerator.
This was the second time we used R & D. Last time a new toilet was installed and we were very pleased.

Excellent plumbers! Honest, punctual, reliable, reasonably priced, and a pleasure to deal with. I called them to get a second opinion after another company sent through my home warranty company told me that I need to replace my main line for $5K. After describing the problem to them on the phone, they told me that even if there is root blockage (as the other company thought) the line needs to be cleared first, then if needed, a camera inspection will be done which will show the problems. They arrived on time, cleared the line (which had NO root blockage) and concluded that there is absolutely no need to replace it or do anything else. It is so nice to have a plumber you can trust especially when you do not understand plumbing issues and there are so many dishonest technitians out there selling you $5K in unnecessary repairs... I highly recommend this company!

Yes, they are the real deal! I called plumbers on Craigslist, that seems to be a waste of time. for sure. Don't go on Craigslist. People say that they will come out but they don't or they don't have the tools or the experience. So these guys have been in business for a long time, they promised a time and they came out in the time, they did the work promptly and correctly. I am very happy. I would strongly recommend them. In addition, when u go on craigslist you really dont know what you are getting. Well i was very happy and the plumbers that came out in fact where very technical and understood everything i asked and i have water again :)

This company was referred to me by a plumber who had retired. I paid for three things to get fixed (1) clear the blockage in the laundry vent to the main pipe (2) replace two gas valves in the laundry room (3) replace/redo washer plumbing. I paid $382.69 A service person named ""Miguel"" came to our home. He performed the job it was fine for a couple of hours and we saw the drain backing up and spilling out onto the floor. I called the company they came back out. The same technician came back I was dissatisfied with him. He was telling me that he would not return (angry voice) that the next time he comes they would charge me additional $150 dollars for the call. The original job required him to clear blockage drain from the laundry room to the main pipe. My reason for the warranty call was the drain was backing up and the water was over flowing on to the floor that is what I paid for. He was just trying to pay more money for services that were covered under warranty. He was making up all these reason (lies) get me to pay the additional $150 dollar call. He was telling me (still in an angry voice) that I knew the that was the problem like I am an expert on plumbing. They pay him commission on the jobs he performs. I would not pay him anything more. I will use another company next time I have a plumbing problem.

Also they don't take credit cards why wouldn't a professional company accept credit cards? A little suspicious cash only business.

Update: I call them again on a warranty call and they would not come back out.

Update: 02/04/14 I had another plumber come to inspect the laundry room he told me that the plumber from R & D did not use a long enough snake to clear the drain. I paid the new plumber $80 dollars and the drain is clear and venting properly.

I am happy I have Yelp to warn potential customers.
