I grew up as the son and grandson of plumbers. R.C. was our grandfather and the family's guiding force. He introduced us to the plumbing trade when we were young. On Saturday mornings, we would accompany him in his old white Ford plumbing van. The side of that van proudly displayed ""R.C. Gochenour & Son's Plumbing and Heating"" in bold red letters. Granddad taught us the trade and the value of hard work. He instilled in us the principle of earning our keep. I spent the 1990s and early 2000s working for different plumbing firms. I made the decision to obtain my plumbing master license in 2008. As time went on, I decided in early 2014 to get a Class A contractor's license and bring back a variation of Granddad's business... Thus, R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC was founded in late 2014.

As a young boy, Granddad would rise early on Saturdays to take me out in that old white Ford plumbing van. We would head out to tackle a job that someone had reached out to him about the day before. In those early days, Granddad taught us the importance of hard work. As I entered my teenage years, I spent summers working with plumbers, mostly uncles from my mom's side of the family, in Northern Virginia. After graduating in 1989, I continued my journey in the plumbing trade. Following over nine years in residential plumbing, I transitioned to industrial plumbing with a local company in the Valley. For the next 14 years, I gained significant experience and knowledge in industrial plumbing. After advancing to foreman and then general foreman, I left the Valley for a role as Project Supervisor with a larger construction and engineering firm. The desire to do things my way never faded. That’s when R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC was founded.
