I grew up as the son and grandson of plumbers. Our grandfather, R.C., was the patriarch of our family. He introduced us to the plumbing trade when we were young. We would set out with him early on Saturday mornings in his old white Ford plumbing van. The van was emblazoned with ""R.C. Gochenour & Son's Plumbing and Heating"" in large red letters. He not only taught us plumbing but also the importance of diligence. In those days, he made sure we earned what we got. I spent the 1990s and early 2000s working for different plumbing firms. I made the decision to obtain my plumbing master license in 2008. Years passed, and in early 2014, I chose to obtain a Class A contractor's license and revive a version of Granddad's old business... R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC was established in late 2014.

In my childhood, Granddad would wake me up early on Saturdays to head out in that classic white Ford plumbing van. We were on our way to address a project that someone had contacted him about the previous day. Granddad instilled a strong work ethic in us during those formative years. During my teenage summers, I worked alongside plumbers, primarily uncles from my mother's side, in Northern Virginia. Upon graduating in 1989, I remained in the plumbing field. Following over nine years in residential plumbing, I transitioned to industrial plumbing with a local company in the Valley. For the next 14 years, I gained significant experience and knowledge in industrial plumbing. After advancing to foreman and then general foreman, I left the Valley for a role as Project Supervisor with a larger construction and engineering firm. I always had the desire to do things on my own terms. In late 2014, R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC was established.
