I grew up as the son and grandson of plumbers. R.C. was our grandfather and the family's guiding force. He introduced us to the plumbing trade when we were young. We would set out with him early on Saturday mornings in his old white Ford plumbing van. The van was emblazoned with ""R.C. Gochenour & Son's Plumbing and Heating"" in large red letters. He imparted both plumbing skills and a strong work ethic. He ensured we earned everything we received in those days. I spent the 1990s and early 2000s working for different plumbing firms. In 2008, I decided to pursue my plumbing master license. Years passed, and in early 2014, I chose to obtain a Class A contractor's license and revive a version of Granddad's old business... Thus, R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC was founded in late 2014.

In my childhood, Granddad would wake me up early on Saturdays to head out in that classic white Ford plumbing van. We would head out to tackle a job that someone had reached out to him about the day before. He instilled a solid work ethic in us during those times. In my teenage years, I spent summers working with plumbers, mainly uncles from my mom's family, in Northern Virginia. After graduating in 1989, I continued my journey in the plumbing trade. Following over nine years in residential plumbing, I transitioned to industrial plumbing with a local company in the Valley. For the next 14 years, I gained significant experience and knowledge in industrial plumbing. I climbed the ranks to foreman and then general foreman before leaving the Valley for a Project Supervisor position at a larger construction and engineering company. The urge to run things my way always lingered. Thus, in late 2014, R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC came into existence.
