Being the son and grandson of plumbers shaped my path. R.C., our grandfather, was the cornerstone of our family. He introduced us to the plumbing trade when we were young. We would set out with him early on Saturday mornings in his old white Ford plumbing van. In big red letters, the van showcased ""R.C. Gochenour & Son's Plumbing and Heating."" He not only taught us plumbing but also the importance of diligence. He ensured we earned everything we received in those days. I went on to work for various companies throughout the 1990s and into the new millennium. In 2008, I decided to pursue my plumbing master license. As time went on, I decided in early 2014 to get a Class A contractor's license and bring back a variation of Granddad's business... That’s when R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC came to life in late 2014.

In my childhood, Granddad would wake me up early on Saturdays to head out in that classic white Ford plumbing van. We would set off to handle a project someone had called him about the day before. In those early days, Granddad taught us the importance of hard work. In my teenage years, I spent summers working with plumbers, mainly uncles from my mom's family, in Northern Virginia. Upon graduating in 1989, I remained in the plumbing field. After more than nine years in residential plumbing, I moved into industrial plumbing with a local firm in the Valley. I spent the next 14 years there, gaining extensive experience and knowledge of larger pipes. I climbed the ranks to foreman and then general foreman before leaving the Valley for a Project Supervisor position at a larger construction and engineering company. The urge to run things my way always lingered. In late 2014, R.C. Gochenour & Son Plumbing LLC was established.
