I arranged service with this provider 2 weeks prior to my appointment on 10/4/2014. Chuck was initially quite responsive and willing to accommodate traveling up to my location in Bowdoinham. A few days prior to the scheduled service, I called to confirm the time of 10:00am on Saturday and to outline the directions to my property (it can be difficult to find). I also offered to pay him for his travel.
On Saturday, I received a voice-mail at 10:00am indicating Chuck and his partner (Zack?) were driving through River Rd. in Richmond (about 15 minutes away), and asking to re-confirm the directions. I missed the call because I had another service provider checking my chimney at the same time. I called back the number at 10:07, 10:08, 10:09, left a message at 10:18, called again at 10:26, 10:40 and each time received no answer or response, just a voice mail. I also called the CZ plumbing main line at 10:41 (left a message) and 11:13. As a last resort 10:50am I sent a text and map location to the cell phone number (which is clearly an iPhone that was running and received the message, based on how the text was confirmed received). I got no response to my calls or text. CZ never showed up, or returned my call on Saturday. The other service provider who showed up the same day (Chimney service), was scheduled at the same time, had no trouble reaching my phone, finding my house or using the directions I provided.
On Sunday morning I finally got a call from Chuck. Without an apology, he accused me of not answering my phone when they ""arrived"". He acknowledged that he did not bring the directions I gave them, but would not confirm at what point he gave up in trying to reach me. My repeated calls (starting 7 minutes after they arrived in Richmond, which is 15 minutes away), the confirmed receipt of my text, and the messages I left on both his partners cell phone and office line indicate to me that CZ did not want to put in the extra effort, for whatever reason, to make it to this service call. They either gave up right at 10:00am after leaving the voice-mail, or never intended to come up at all.
|Based on other reviews it appears Chuck is a decent guy and good service provider. In this case he failed to show up to a scheduled service, and was quite abrasive in his follow-up the next day. I would suggest anyone considering booking CZ outside of their normal coverage area or at a location that may require some complex driving directions and coordination should think twice, as it appears the team there is very quick to give up on a road call and can become very unresponsive.
Gerald S.Clogged drains happen at most inopportune times. Seacoast showed up within an hour and solved our problem quickly, and didn't complain that we hadn't cleared lots of stuff from under the sink. They are a five star outfit.
