Incorporated in 1983, Queen City Mechanicals was created by a cooperative of three owners, led by its first president, Mr. Gary Gilbert. For seventeen years, the company effectively met the commercial plumbing demands of the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State area under this shared ownership model.

Mr. Gilbert acquired complete ownership of Queen City Mechanicals in 2000. This acquisition signaled the start of a family enterprise, as his sons, Bryan and Brad, were welcomed into the company in foundational roles. This family-oriented strategy led to continued success, enabling the business to grow for another fifteen years and diversify into site utilities and plumbing services for both commercial and residential clients.

The succession plan, developed in 2000, came to fruition when Bryan Gilbert, as President, and Brad Gilbert, as Vice President, purchased Queen City Mechanicals on January 1, 2015. Bryan holds a bachelor's degree in Finance, which he obtained from the University of Cincinnati in 1998. He joined the family business in 1999 as an estimator/project manager. As he gained industry experience and knowledge, Bryan quickly became engaged in the operational aspects of the business, dedicating much of his focus to transforming QCM into a leading contracting firm. Bryan assumed the presidency in 2015, which empowered him to lead the company's strategic initiatives.
