Oscar Garcia initially claims he is a contractor, but will retract this if you ask for his contractor license and says he told you from the beginning that he is not. He also claims he's done 3000 installs but no proof to back this up. He offers 5yrs warranty but not being a contractor means there's no legal recourse to ensure services when needed. For HVAC he uses York. He claims he's a ""free mason"" which holds high regard to morals, ethics and honesty, however after his install and request for warranty packets that weren't initially received, he came up empty after 3 broken promises to produce them via text picture of the serial numbers and by mailing the packets over a 3 week communication time frame.

HVAC install: I had two installs on a multip unit. He promised to have both installed the same day. On the scheduled day he called and said he needed to reschedule for the following day, this screwed up my work schedule. Then the following day he was late by a few hours. He was only able to install one unit and his workers cut the copper hose on accident that connected to the condenser. He had to replace that and cut a new hole through the roof which in my opinion is a very odd location. His two workers lied to him and said i requested the line to be taken out. He knew they were lying and apologized. The 2nd install his crew was ready to leave but left the old furnace shell in the attic. He explained it was too large to take down and I had to suggest to just cut it in pieces and take it away as promised earlier.

At one point i had asked for his email address ([email protected]) in case during his 5 year warranty his cell number changed. He said ""im not going anywhere"" and reluctantly gave his email address. It is completely logical to have an alternative form of communication, people change phone numbers over time.

Considering the whole experience, I'm not holding my breath on counting on his services if needed and I dont think you should either. I would go with a well experienced, proven and referred legit contractor the next time around. They may be a little more experienced by at least you can rest easy counting on their service and their willingness to maintain their high ratings on yelp.
