We did not want to give a business a bad review but we can't get anywhere with Pink so we feel compelled to warn others. In May 2020 We hired Pink to install two new tankless water heaters. From the beginning, we had issues. Lewis came out and said it was our mixing valve but did something and said it was working. It wasn't. Several visits later it still wasn't working Their solution was to keep the upstairs super hot when people wanted to shower downstairs and turn it down when we used the upstairs shower. So that's what we did to get by. A few months later the downstairs unit stopped working. The motherboard had to be replaced. We asked why a new unit would have a motherboard fail and they told us it just happens. We continued to have issues with the upstairs unit and eventually the downstairs unit had problems again. Finally, after two additional visits, a new plumber from Pink got on the phone with Navien, discovered the unit was never changed from factory settings and was running as a commercial unit which is why the motherboard went and which was causing it to run constantly (burning gas) The plumber also told me it had never been installed properly and was missing a part but was now working correctly. At the same time, he looked at the upstairs unit and said he did something to fix it. The next morning I had no hot water. He came and fixed that (apparently he had switched it off). Shortly thereafter, an alarm went off for the unit. The same plumber came by and reset it while out for the evening. When the next person took a shower, the alarm went off again. At this point I was furious and demanded someone from their company fix this very expensive and brand new unit once and for all. They would not come out again so fortunately, I had to call another company. They said that unit (a Rinnai) also was incorrectly installed and was soon going to be doing damage to our pipes in the walls due to the manner in which they had it draining. It too was missing something (not sure what) which is described in the plumber's assessment. At this point we feel Pink Plumbing (who had sometimes returned for free, sometimes charging us over 8-9 months) should be responsible for the repair work. We are asking Pink pay compensation for the emergency visit and the repair work on the second unit. We spent many months with two units working improperly costing us time and money. We contacted Jud Leggett several times and he always says he will look it over and get back to us. He never does.

So I needed a spigot moved from inside my downstairs neighbors enclosed porch to on outside wall I used Angi for a plumber referral , which was Purpose Plumbing. Two plumbers from Purpose came to look at the job and I was give nan estimate of $300. I paid approx $50 for the estimate - which would be deducted when they did the job. Two months later I contacted Purpose to do the job. They sent a different plumber but it was raining so hard that the job was postponed a week and a half. I asked Purpose to send the origional plumbers who gave the estimate- but they sent the forth plumber. This man was very accomedating but he did not homor the estimate, and gave a totally different higher price. I tried to reach Purpose Plumbing and the phone rang and then disconnected. A second number rang and no one answered. I will also contact Angi. What a rip off. I was out $49 for an estimate that Purpose didnot honor and they did not refund my $49. Rip off. (:(

Long story short, I needed 4 quotes and paid $49 on 02/02/2022. Unfortunately, I only ever received 1 quote. On 1/31/2022, Brad of Pink Plumbing was scheduled to come by at 0830 per Kristi, their office manager, who was a delight to speak to, stating they are a family-owned company. Fantastic! That said, no one arrived at 0830. Maybe I was mistaken. I received a text at 0902, """"Brad from Pink Plumbing is en route now."""" Brad did not arrive until 0955, which would be fine, except I was told they would be arrived at 0830. Upon arrival, I inquired as to the appointment time, and they responded they have a window from 8 to 10 AM. Okay. Maybe Kristi was just unclear. No problem. I just had to be at work by 1100, and they stated this should be no problem. The quotes I requested at this paid visit: Quote #1: To replace polybutylene to PEX in a master shower and tub. This quote was received. Quote #2: To move a kitchen PVC drain pipe from immediately in front of our crawlspace access to further away. This quote was never received. Quote #3: To completely plumb our garage and unfinished ROG, including a slop sink, tankless water heater (or connection to main house), as well as upstairs toilet, shower, and sink. Brad told me he would speak to his boss and get back to me, as this was more complex. No problem. Quote #4A: To either increase the diameter of PEX to our kitchen sink to 3/4"""" from 1/2"""" or draw from closer to the main hot water line, as our kitchen sink is the only place in the house that takes several minutes to receive hot water. Quote #4B: Install a small, in-line, on-demand water heater for the kitchen sink. On 02/02/2022, I sent an email detailing these requests, as I only received quote #1, yet all were discussed, in detail at the initial visit. A response stated Brad would be getting back to me ASAP. Kristi also apologized, as she stated he should have been there by 0830 but may have needed to purchase gasoline or parts. That's fine, I just want the quote and to get the work started... On 02/03/2022, I sent a follow-up. No response. On 02/07/2022, I sent another follow-up. On 02/08/2022, I was told """"Brad's working on getting you this info today."""" On 02/16/2022, exasperated, I sent an email, """"Any...update?"""" No response. What's crazy is I was going to give this company plenty of plumbing business, some of which was likely elective and expensive. In any case, I cannot recommend this company, despite having a dedicated individual who answers the phone and being family-owned. Should anyone find a decent plumber in Charleston, let me know, because this ain't it.

WARNING!!!!! I had Purpose (then Pink) Plumbing come out a year ago to fix a section of pipe that was leaking. The guy only fixed half the pipes, claiming that he did not see the rest were leaking. This is despite the fact that I showed him a graph that came from the termite company. This year at my yearly termite inspection, I am informed that Purpose Plumping only did half the job and that the pipes were still leaking. This could cause a void in my termite bond for any damage caused from termites being attracted to the moisture from the leaking pipes. Purpose Plumbing came out looked at the issue, and said that they would have to get back to me. It has now been over 3 weeks, with no word from their office as to a resolution. DO NOT use this company. They don't honor any warranty, or complete the entire job that was quoted. Wish I had read the other comments about this company before calling them. For a """"family"""" company, they do not act like one.

Tech came out to give estimate . I give the company one star . Never will recommend them. He told my husband we would get a email that day with the estimate . No email. No phone call . The next day l called the company she said she sees his estimate paperwork and he hasn't completed it yet. So later she called me and said he needed to get info from another worker so l would hear from him the next day. Well 3 days later no estimate no nothing . Highly discussed with them . I already hired a company called Plumb Pro.

While being disassembled for drain cleaning, my 25-year-old bathroom sink drain pipe became detached from the sink. Purpose Plumbing technician Brad went out and got some joint cement and did a great job reconnecting it. Not rocket science but required real trade skill. Would re-hire him and Purpose Plumbing before looking at anyone else... JCG
