Yes! I chose this company!!!!! Best decision for my home in Severna Park.
Excellent service, caring follow-up, unimaginable service and explanation to my dart-like novice questions with no worry of competition or stupid questions. I have even called twice since the water main replacement regarding other matters... good and honest responses that yielded him no further business for the matter I was asking. He simply said... ""you do not need this,"" and directed me to the county who took care of my issue.
I do not know how it gets any better than this. Seriously.
Thank you, Jack!
Absolutely wonderful company to work with. Professional, courteous, responsive, and trustworthy. Would absolutely recommend Jack and his team for any and all plumbing jobs! Such a pleasure to work with! He went above and beyond for us. Had a mess of a job to do ripping up our concrete slab and moving a washer drain. We had piles of concrete and dirt in our kitchen. At the end of the job, you couldn't find a single spot of dirt anywhere! It was amazing! Thankful to have used Jack and now have a trustworthy plumber for any future plumbing needs!!
Great service and extremely helpful! They explained the situation to me in simple terms and fixed everything quickly. Very happy with my experience here.
Honest company! I have used this company twice now. Both times they were able to send someone out that afternoon, with no hidden charges. They patched a simple leak in my basement after I was told by another company, that morning, that all the pipes in my entire house had to be completely replaced! Very nice, knowledgeable and so helpful without any feeling of ""sales"" or being taken advantage of whatsoever.
Alexis B.Jack is professional in all business transactions. He actually answers the phone when you call! Huge plus! He returns phone calls too. Jack repaired my major ""big blue"" poly pipe for a fair and reasonable price. He was there early, did the job quickly and even adjusted the price after assessing that the job was less labor intensive than he had suspected originally. Amazing-I am a new home owner and I am ""pumped"" to have found an honest plumber locally! Thanks Jack!
I called Jack Pumphrey Plumbing & left a message after 10pm Saturday night when I realized my pipe underneath the basement had busted. I was pleasantly surprised when he called me about 9am Sunday morning & promised to come by about 11am. He came when he said he would and temporarily bypassed the main pipe so the leaking could be stopped & water could be supplied to the house. He scheduled me for the Tuesday & came by & did a fantastic job. Thanks so much Jack! I'll recommend you to anyone who needs plumbing services! You're the best!
We had a leak in the bathroom that we just couldn't determine the source of. A friend recommended Pumphrey Plumbing, so I called to see if they could help. Our timing must have been perfect, because they were here in under two hours and found the source of the problem in a half hour or so. They couldn't fix it that first day, but promised to come back early the next week to fix it - or sooner if possible. They called the next afternoon, and came right over. They fixed the problem, cleaned up the mess nicely, and were friendly and helpful, explaining exactly what the issue was and how they would fix it. I'll use them every time I can!
Jack and his team is great. He has come out and bailed me out twice when I had major plumbing problems. He fit me that day, fixed my problem, and did it professionally and completely. I'll always recommend Pumphrey Plumbing to anyone needing plumbing work.
I called LEN the Plumber initially. The quote was shocking. I shopped the quote and found Jack Pumphrey. He (and crew) came out on a Sunday and saved me over $2,000. I highly recommend.
Never use Pumphrey Plumbing for any of your plumbing needs or issues. Jack Pumphrey, owner of Pumphrey Plumbing is incompetent and unprofessional. Below thoroughly explains the issues I had with him and the lack of attention to detail.
Back in September 2016 I experienced a water leak in my main water line. After speaking to the Anne Arundel County Water Company about my options they suggested I use Pumphrey Plumbing to fix this issue. I gave Jack Pumphrey a call and he found the leak; repaired it and then left. I thought that was easy until later the day the leak continued, so I called him back to assess the new issue. After coming back a second time he found my water main line had more holes in it than just the original hole previously repaired, so on September 14, 2016 he repaired my whole water main line. I thought that would be the last time I would see Jack, but after being out of town for a month I returned home to find a good portion of my basement covered in water. The water in the basement came in from the old water main line in my basement cement wall. The reason for this was because Jack never sealed the old hole, allowing water to find the path of lease resistance and entering my basement. I thought water in my basement was my only problem but when Jack fixed my water main he used a back hoe to dig a hole and tore up a sprinkler line. Instead of fixing the sprinkler line he just covered it up with dirt and left. I called Jack to fix the issue in my basement so that water would no longer enter through the old water main line he failed to seal the first time. He came back over and capped off the old line and before leaving I told him I was going to file an insurance claim with my homeowners insurance and I needed his insurance company. Jack reluctantly gave me his insurance company and asked if he could just give me $500 in cash to not file an insurance claim; I quickly declined his request and filed that claim immediately. I told Jack about the sprinkler line he broke, but instead of having him fix it I called true professionals, my sprinkler company to fix it because I knew they would fix it correctly.
I recently returned home again from being out of town for awhile and found water leaking through the new water main line Jack put in for me back in September 2016. I never contemplated on calling Jack to repair this problem because I am absolutely fed up with him and his poor work, so I called Alpha Plumping. Matt from Alpha Plumbing showed up today (January 13, 2017) to fix my new issue. Matt dug a hole to expose the newly repaired water main line and discovered the new line was never encased properly, in a PVC pipe through my basement cement wall. Matt informed me that in his 12 years as a licensed plumber he has never seen another plumber cut such a crucial corner that Jack Pumphrey cut when he repaired my water main line. Matt had to cut a 3 foot section of line out so he could drill an inch and a half hole through my basement wall to put a section of PVC pipe through it. After that Matt was able to fit a 3' section of copper pipe through the PVC pipe to connect it to the water main line. Matt properly sealed the water main line by placing tar around the pipe outside and around my basement foundation. Then he put silicon around the water main line inside the PVC pipe, and then sealed it off completely with cement. Matt gave me the guarantee that I would never have a water leak again. He also told me that Jack Pumphrey never had his work inspected by a plumber inspector, as required by law, because no inspector would have approved Jack's initial work. Jack never cut an inch and a half hole into my basement wall to fit a PVC pipe through it to put the water main line inside of it. According to Alpha Plumbing this huge oversight could have easily been avoided had Jack cared about doing the right thing the first time.
I was given a lifetime guarantee for the water main Jack originally fixed, but what good is a lifetime guarantee if the reason you are having issues is because of the shortcuts taken by the issuer in the first place?
With all that said I have plenty of pictures to prove all of Jack's mistakes and oversights. I hope this never happens to anyone else and the only way for people to never experience this huge headache is to never call Pumphrey Plumbing for their plumbing needs. Jack is not a professional and deserves to have his plumbing license pulled. I wish I knew why he cut so many corners when repairing my water main line, but he can only answer that question. For your Plumbing needs call Alpha Plumping and never give Pumphrey your business.
