I highly recommend Damen of Protek Plumbing! He was recommended to me by East Bay Fireplace to do the electrical work needed before the installation of an electric fireplace. I am very impressed with the work he completed. Damen was so careful in covering my floors and furniture before beginning his work and he did a very thorough job cleaning before he left. Plus, it was a pleasure talking to him and having in my home. He is one of the nicest contractors I have had work in my home. Plus, his fee was very reasonable for the work he did.

We recently wanted to update our wood burning fireplace to gas and called Protek to do the gas and electric work. Damen came out, explained our options, gave us a quote, and then scheduled a date to get the work done. He was actually able to come out a few days early to get most of the work done and then finished up on the originally scheduled date. We're very happy with the work, and highly recommend Protek/Damen!

This review is overdue. I worked with Walnut Creek Fire in October to have a new gas fireplace framed and installed. They recommended I have Protek Plumbing do the gas and electric work. Damen was incredibly professional and worked within the necessary timeframe (after framing, before the insert was installed). His rate was totally reasonable and was great to work with!

We are living in our 4th home and over 30 years have worked with lots of contractors. The vast majority accomplished the task requested but Damen is among the finest we have seen at focusing on ALL the details.

After one of his work days, before he was completely finished, I expected to see a pile of wood and concrete dust. His work area was nearly spotless. One of my biggest complaints with contractors is the mess they leave and expect me to clean up. While this might seem like a minor concern, I think it is indicative of the contractor's work ethic.

Everything about his work was also fantastic. The distance between the conduit, the near invisibility of the electrical connections, and the symmetry of the caulking make it clear to me that Damen cares about the details.

He and his contractors were timely: 7:30am meant 7:30am. He was also very creative in designing the work to minimize awkward turns and structures.

Finally, Damen put up with my constant questions. He is super patient and I would not hesitate for a moment to use him again.

Damen is absolutely the best! We called him regarding an old fireplace gas pipe that was getting in the way of our remodel, and he was able to get out there to the home to look at the situation, called us and presented to us our options clearly. Everything was on time, as expected.

Damen is also very straightforward and honest. Once we gave him the go-ahead, he kindly squeezed us in his busy schedule when we told him how this was holding up the rest of the remodel.

The total came out a little less than what he quoted us. We couldn't be happier.

A true professional. Damen replaced our water valves to our washing machine. Replacing piping and installed a new inset box which involved replacing Sheetrock, he did an excellent clean job! We now have our ""Go To"" plumber.
