Recommended Customer Reviews

Customers beware... do not go with this company. They started screwing me over just recently and not providing annual services for my boiler. I liked them at first and the employees are nice. They do need to call their customers if they are running late due to an emergency and not leave them hanging for hours. I talked to the manager, and he was very condescending and tried to treat me like a 5 year old, which was very unprofessional. I tried to be nice even though his attitude towards me was uncalled for. He kept trying to confuse me about my services, and I called him out, and he didn't like it. We are taking them to court shortly. I can not in good faith recommend this company anymore unless the manager is fired with someone better at handling problems.

never call prospector I have to pay $96 for nothing I need to install water softener. They give me a price $3300 and the guy was here like 10 feet 15 minute save your money. Do not call them. Find someone else they are outrageous. I definitely never recommend them call.

do not get the 1 free inspection a year membership with them. they are nice and awesome first visit to sucker you into joining the membership. once you realize its a scam and they are overcharging, naturally you want off the membership then, they will try to charge $600 just to get off the list.

I would love to give this company zero stars. They are the worst! From inflated pricing and over charging to poor workmanship, lack of cleanliness and no follow-up, they are definitely starting to get a bad reputation around town! Avoid at all cost!

Prospector Plumbing and Heating does one thing well: self promoting. Oh and let me add outrageous estimates. I had them come by to install a tankless hot water heater. They recommended I run an extension cord to it rather than add an outlet (which took me about 2 hours to do). Their estimate for what they thought would be a full day's work (installing a vent, running about 15 feet of propane line and 20 feet of exposed plumbing) was a whopping $9,300.00 which was almost all labor. And there was the caveat that the final bill could be even higher! I know a plumber who was asked to bid on an installation of a boiler in a garage. He didn't want the job so after calculating a reasonable estimate with a reasonable profit, he added $3,000 to his estimate figuring he wouldn't get the job. Unfortunately he bid against Prospector Plumbing and Heating and easily won the contract. Another friend asked them to replace an under the sink valve. The workman said he would instead add a stainless flexible steel water line (the kind you buy at any hardware store for a few bucks) for $400! Oh, and they are good for one more thing- a good laugh.

After being given an estimate of $4,000 to replace a 30 gallon water tank pump I lost weeks of sleep and was on the verge of a nervous breakdown trying to figure out how to pay for this vital household appliance since I run an in-home daycare and need potable water. Finally asked a friend for a second opinion which revealed that the pump didn't need to be replaced, just need to be pressurized. Jared Williams, do better. Shame on you. The love of money is the root of all evil.

I have attempted to use this company. Even by interior AK standards they are a TERRIBLE value. First time I used them (last year), they no-showed on me and called to reschedule afterwards. The second time I tried to use them they did the same. IF these people show up, they will rip you off. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Prospector Plumbing responded within a few hours and fixed my cabin up perfectly! I had attempted to put in a replacement shower control and could only do so much! The tech and I decided that a full replacement would be the most logical thing to do rather than attempt to fix piecemeal. All parts were available in the service van and I was all set a short while later. The tech, Ryland, was very knowledgeable, personable, and professional. I have already recommended Prospector Plumbing to two friends. $1935 to install Delta shower faucet.

They will most likely send a young kid who doesn't know Jack, and overcharge you for the simplest of jobs. Faucet hook-up: I provided the parts. My 82 yr old mother called them and they charged her over $600 to Tighten two nuts...I was out of town at the time. It took less than 45 min. From my understanding, they use to call themselves Monkey Wrench Mechanical. Total Scammers. You'd be better off finding a Plumber off of Craigs lists.

Our blower motor went out on our boiler and needed it fixed as it was -5 degrees outside. They responded the next business day and replaced the blower motor within an hour. Service was great but they charged me $1050 for a $163 blower motor and 1 hour of labor. Never again will I be using their service!
