ProServ was sent out by my home warranty company for a furnace repair. Frank was timely, efficient & was able to diagnose the problem quickly. Unfortunately, the part took a while to receive & when you have NO heat in winter that was a small issue. But overall, excellent company, did a good job & I would definitely use them in the future for furnace repair/maintenance.

Listed as doing HVAC but they don't offer that service in Oregon. Don't waste your time calling them for that here.

Our washer is leaking, so I searched around Yelp on Appliance Repair for someone in the Hillsboro area, and landed on Proserv Portland. Upon calling them, I was shocked to hear that, while their address says Hillsboro, OR and the ad banner says serving Hillsboro, the lady on the phone told me that currently they do NOT serve the Hillsboro area! What a disappointment :-(!

We had an issue with our washer at 10pm on Monday, by noon on Tuesday it was fixed for less than $75 dollars. (An issue with the pressure switch that required no parts, just service.)

I was impressed at the speed and willingness to repair the washer and not just seek a reason to buy parts or charge me more. Honest, speedy and competent service. As other reviews have mentioned, this great service came from Bill at ProServ.

My washer died at the worst possible time. Better yet right after the extended warranty expired. Called ProServ based on a friend's recommendation and was shocked that they were at my door the SAME DAY. Best surprise of all, was the repair cost was actually less than the deductible would have been on my warranty been active. Hands down, best in town!!

I've had a lot of experience lately with ProServ due to an oven malfunction on our 20 year-old Dynasty range. If my first two service visits (same repairman) were the only basis for the review, I'd be giving ProServ 1 star (0 stars if that was an option) BUT... this was until a new repairman came over for our third service call - Bill Macfarland.

Bill is awesome. I mean, like, AWESOME. Not only is he friendly, punctual, professional, and listens to you... he is actually interested in fixing the issue, does additional research after the service call, and follows up. While he was here, I even picked his brain about why our freezer door locks up for over a minute after opening, and he gave some suggestions on how to fix it. Amazing!

To give a bit more background information, we have an oven where the ignitor is not located close enough to the burner, therefore gas builds up so much so that when it finally does ignite, a fireball spews out the bottom and the oven door blows open by an inch. Scary stuff. We have a home warranty through AHS, and they use ProServe as the third-party to make local repairs. The first ProServ guy came twice and was almost condescending about the whole thing, disbelieving that there really was a serious safety hazard. After requesting a different repairman to service us, Bill arrived. What a change! He took his time looking at all the parts, explained things as he went, was open to discussing your ideas and questions, and in my case, explained the ""science"" behind the oven's internal parts. The oven acted up again, but Bill cheerfully came over again immediately (within 24 hours) and followed up via email that afternoon. He even put together an action plan in case the oven keeps malfunctioning, and has already purchased a relevant part to keep in his car just in case he needs to run over right away.

Moving forward, anytime I need ProServe to come over for a repair, I am requesting Bill Macfarland!

ProServ was sent to us by Our home warrantee company. They diagnosed the problem, the guy couldn't find the model # on our range. He said he would talk to home warrantee co and get back to us. At least 5 days went by, no call. Called AHS, they called ProServ, and it was determined the part was unavailable and we would need a new stove. There were requirements for us to fulfill to get space ready for install, which we took care of at our expense per our contract. ProServ was scheduled for the install. Upon arrival 2 young men get out of truck and ask what they were here to do. I get a little nervous, to me that's not a good question to start. They looked at job, didn't know anything about the install which required electric, gas, and ventilation, and asked me questions I had no idea how to answer about installation. I asked them why they didn't know this stuff, and they said, oh we usually do HVAC work, not appliance installation. Great. They spent 5 hours at our house, and determined that despite what the contractors we had hired to ready the space had said, it was the wrong type of range and could not be installed without extensive vent work ( floor and outside wall cutting involved) and countertop remodeling. While they were here they did add an outlet under the stove, so I guess they did do something. They picked up their stuff and left. I followed them out and asked them if they had turned our gas back on and they said no! So the guy comes up to do it, and I ask him about some damage to one of the stovetop caps, and he said yes, it broke when they dropped it and would tell AHS, and would replace it. I asked about the removed stove, and they had it on the truck and didn't want to take it off, but did so grudgingly. I figured we might need it if the new one was wrong. I called the contractors who had come out and readied the space and determined if the stove would fit. They came the next day and installed the range within 2 hours, no issue, of course at our expense.
ProServ was unprofessional, unethical, and rude. They never sent us the replacement for the broken cap, and I still had to pay them the service fee for doing almost nothing.
We recently had another issue and ProServ was assigned to us. When she called and told me she was from ProServ (mind you this is a call center in Las Vegas not a place in Portland) I was like oh! I hope this goes better than the last time, and she wouldn't even make the appt., she hung up. AHS assigned us someone else, and they were great.
I hope if you use them your experience is better than ours was.

Where to begin: Close to the worst service I have ever received from a professional company. Now working on 5th attempt to fix my clothes dryer. Original tech came out, took a dump in bathroom, didn't turn on fan and left door wide open after done so entire back of house completely stunk. Told me he would call on Monday to schedule return trip to fix after parts ordered. Monday comes no call so I called them. They said they would call me Tuesday. Tuesday comes no call so I call them. Tech finally comes out on Wednesday, facilitates the suspected repair. During the repair he pulls out the dryer ducting from the floor which now blows exhaust all through laundry room. Tech tells me the issue but says he won't get under crawlspace to fix because""he doesn't like going under houses"". His fix does not work, same problem. Request a new tech as we have no confidence the first tech could fix the problem. Second tech comes out (3rd visit now) decides that the problem is due to the exhaust ducting and tapes up the ducting so all exhaust goes outside as supposed to. He leaves without testing dryer. Problem still not fixed so I call for a 4th visit to repair. Tech and Supervisor show up, spend less than 4 minutes in my house, decide it is the heating element that has burned up DUE TO THE EXHAUST DUCT failure which was caused by their original technician. Say they would call me on Monday after they see if there is a part in town so they could return for a 5th time to attempt repair. Well, again I had to call them as they did not call me back. Parts supply store not open today but did they call me to tell me this? Nope. My wife has been sitting at home all day not wanting to miss their call or visit. This was a warranty issue reported through my home warranty company American Home Shield. I am stuck with their sub. Had I called them privately they would have been fired and I would have demanded any and all money back. I run a finish construction company with a 5 star google review rating and 5 year in a row Angie's List Super Service Award recipient. I know what good service is, and this aint it! Other people seem to have gotten good service from this company but I would not recommend them due to my experience thus far.

Here are the facts-

I requested to be called by the manager, and received an email from a customer service instead. No attempt to resolve my issue was made. I think this speaks volumes about the company.
They closed my claim without finishing the repair or my knowledge.
The service call record (as in the email below) indicates they looked at my right oven (I have a double oven), but it was the left oven with the issue.

I was present when the service tech was there. He quickly diagnosed the issue (I believe he said it was a faulty ignition pan that was firing to early, and said he would need to order a new one). The truth is that this company has trouble following through with service calls. They've wasted enough of my time with Pro-serve, but I suggest you never let them start wasting yours.

Dear Mr. Waters,

Thank you for contacting us today. We apologize for the inconvenience and intend to clarify our records and the Home Warranty service procedures.
Below is a copy of our records regarding our last visit to your home:

**10/30 BM out-Went to home spoke w/ customer about gas smell. Found gas smell to be in right oven. BM found igniter works, it just takes about 15 to 20 seconds to ignite burner. No gas leak and oven works within specs. No deductible, no repairs needed at this time.

If there are problems with the oven at this time, the procedure is to place a work order with your home warranty; and they will assign us or another company to diagnose the unit under warranty. Regarding parts being ordered that would be up to your warranty company in this case. We suggest you contact them for coverage inquiries. Our technician communicates findings to them, and they are responsible for discussing their options with you. I apologize if this is the case and recommend contacting them to inquire about your coverage and/or place a work order for the stove issue.

At this time, in our end, this claim is closed with American Home Shield; if you would like a technician to inspect, diagnose and orders parts for this repair without a work order from your home warranty company, you would be responsible for any repair parts & labor charges. Either way we would be glad to assist you! You may contact our office via email or phone to schedule a retail visit or contact AHS and place a work order; then, they will dispatch us or other company that will contact you for scheduling a technician visit.

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Countrywide ProServ, Inc.
