Did a great job with our kitchen cabinets and adding shelves to our medicine cabinet. They were very understanding and were able to finish the job very quickly. The overall cost was also fair in my opinion. We are happy with the end result. Will definitely use their services in the future.

I called Proper Hour Handyman Service to fix a leak from the shower handle. They came promptly and diagnosed a leaking valve inside the shower switch. While I was engaging the HOA to find the water shutoff valve for the unit, the valve started leaking, and I had to call them back in quickly to fix the problem right away. They were able to accommodate my request even on a Saturday afternoon the very next day, and replaced the shower cartridge in the valve quickly and efficiently. The problem has been fixed for a very reasonable price. I will be calling on Proper Hour Handyman Service as my first priority from now on.

The team went above and beyond to properly measure our restroom and find the perfect new vanity and sink. We had a few miscommunications at first, but then they followed up every day to ensure it was fixed, and even very generously offered to compensate for the mishap and provided their labor for free. The installation itself was good quality work. We will ask for them to return for future projects!

Proper Hour Handyman did a great job replacing the back door to our garage using a new pre-hung door we had purchased. We were especially impressed that none of the old troublesome stucco adjoining the door was disturbed and that the original moulding could be reused. Going into the job, we had doubted this would be possible. We will definitely hire them again in the future.

I called Proper Hour Handyman Service late last week because we have a large number of tasks that need to be completed around the house (caulk and paint new siding that was replaced, paint and stain front door, install new front door hardware, interior painting...). The exterior caulking and painting was our highest priority because the house needs to be water tight before the rains begin. We asked to begin with painting/ caulking the siding and refinishing our front door. Mark, the project p=manager, offered to begin the work the very next Monday, just 2 days from the date we were speaking. He gave us a quote of approx. $2000 for both jobs.
After giving this more thought, my husband and I decided to begin by having the work crew refinish our front door so we could evaluate the quality of work before trusting the team with the job of waterproofing a section of our home. I emailed Mark and told him we wanted to begin with painting and refinishing our front door. Mark had already told me that I was to buy all the materials. I told him we had the paint for the exterior side of the entry door, but we needed some help determining the stain and polyurethane. Mark sent me a quote of approx. $600 to refinish the door. I responded that this quote was perfectly fine for refinishing the door. I also stated that we have ordered new hardware for the door, and would like to have his crew install the hardware but we would need some help determining the new threshold. We l acknowledged that an additional quote would be necessary for hardware installation.
Just 23 hours prior to our agreed upon appointment and after agreeing to the bid, Mark wrote a 22nd email telling me that his crew was not going to be able to do our job at this time. He went on to say ""after talking to the team it was decided that his carpenters are involved in bigger jobs."" ""WAIT!! YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING, MARK! YOU'RE DUE AT OUR HOUSE TOMORROW MORNING!""
My first question: Why was Mark sending carpenters to paint and refinish a door? It's odd that carpenters, who are skilled in woodworking and structural repairs, were assigned to a painting and refinishing job. This indicates a miscommunication or lack of organization within this company. Sometimes, in smaller companies, workers with various skills might be shuffled around based on availability, but it's essential for the management to assign appropriate professionals for specific tasks to ensure quality work. But this is not the case at Proper Hour Handyman Service.
Next question: Are we to believe that Mark and ""the team"" got a bigger/ better job and decided to dump our job? This seems likely because after all, their availability was wide open only last Friday.
Final question: How on Earth did this company ever get so many 5-Star reviews on this website?
Given our experience, we want to leave an honest and detailed review about our encounter with this company to warn others about our experience. Honest reviews can guide future customers and, in some cases, prompt companies to improve their services and communication. We know how frustrating it can be to hire a poor-quality, unethical contractor or handyman. At this point, my husband and I feel fortunate to have escaped this unprofessional, slapshot company. I cannot dissuade you strongly enough from wasting your time or money with this unethical, shit show of a company.

Max was on time, courteous, and he did the job and explained to me what was done. My experience was good with them.

Great Quality of work. Job was completed professionally and clean, accounting for all minor details for cabinet installation, securing to wall, base boards, caulking, etc. A bit difficult to communicate due to language barriers, but with Google translate and the office calls, that bridge can be crossed. Great work for a reasonable price.
