I paid a $4,000 deposit toward a $6,759 bathroom remodel he said would be done in 5 days. It's been over 3 weeks, the job is still unfinished, and the work left behind was terrible: crooked tiles, exposed plumbing, missing grout, and no proper backing behind the tile.

When I called it out, he got aggressive, demanded more money, and then walked off the job, leaving my home a mess and my bathroom unusable.

When I said I might bring in an inspector, he told me to ""shove it up his a**"" and even said he hopes we have to rip everything out. He then sent more threatening messages saying it would ""cost us"" for not paying him more than the contract agreed to.

He wrote the contract himself and still failed to deliver.
Threatening, unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely unreliable.
Avoid this company at all costs.

**Homeowners beware. **
Do not use proper function plumbing for any of your needs. Jared has no business working on anyone's house after what I just witnessed. He is a compete hack and is a homeowners worse nightmare. He rips off people who TRUST and pay him to do the job correctly.

He completely rigged up a heater with tape and insulation wrap to hide the fact he has no idea what he is doing. He bought the wrong size unit, he destroyed the transformer in the new unit during install, he fried the thermostat, didn't use any screws to attach the unit, illegally hooked up the gas with a flex hose
AND
he also STOLE the air conditioning fuses from the disconnect switch so it would never operate.

I repeat DO NOT HIRE THIS HACK

I had to call him back cause now my water in my tub went from a continued slow drip to water gushing and leaking to my basement. hours later he left again and my tub is all open. He took it back apart and never came back. F**# and is not answering calls or messages and he got paid.... truly horribly. His old company fired him and I see why!!!

Had a great experience with Proper Function Plumbing. They came out in a snowstorm last year to replace my hot water heater on short notice for an extremely reasonable price. While they were there, the door knob somehow came off my front door. One of the guys actually went out and bought a new one and they replaced that, too! Would definitely use them again.

Do not waste your time or money! Consider yourself warned. Jared replied to my messages quickly, he came out when scheduled (late but he still arrived) and he completed the job. However, the job was very sloppy. I still did not complain because it was ""fixed"". In less than a week the knob came off. I called to inform him and I also sent pics. No response. He did not honor the warranty.

We had spoken about you doing the work and me paying you in installments. You agreed to this, as I was not working at the time. You told me you were going to charge me for the tile only, which was appreciated, since you broke my floor. We had agreed on this, and you TOLD ME YOU WOULD BE BACK THE NEXT DAY TO FINISH THE FLOOR. I didn't need or want you to do anything else but finish the floor, as promised. The work was only ""free of charge "" because you never came back to finish. I had the money for you, for when you came back. ...and now, I have more damage than when you were here, thanks to you and your ""help"".

Hire Jared with confidence. A negative review always gives you doubt but Jared was a complete professional. He did great work at a fantastic price on short notice. He explained everything to us and made us (not handy at all) feel completely comfortable and confident. Great plumber and excellent job. Very recommended. Thank you Jared.

Proper Function Plumbing was such a joy to work with. Jared, the owner, is super-responsive and communicative. His pricing is more than fair, and the work he does is top-notch. He also has great suggestions and ideas, and made sure to send us follow-up emails with more detailed information. Our shower/tub is working great again, and the plumbing work by Jared really made all the difference. I definitely plan to work with this company again--thanks again for everything!

The communication with Jared went really well, until he got paid. The he stopped answering call and returning text messages. There were a number of issues and Jared refused to work with my general contractor, which left me in a lurch. He SAYS he guarantees his work but he no longer responds to me or my contractor.

You'll be better served by selecting another plumber. Believe me, you be grateful you did.
