I sold my house on 11/05/2023 with a 30 day escrow. The buyer took 2 1/2 weeks to get the inspection done and their inspector said I had a bathtub valve leaking into the crawl space. I called American Home Shield and found out that my home warranty policy covered it. They sent NW Sundance Plumbing to fix it. After their plumber went down into the crawl space and looked around, he found the main drain from the bathtub was actually leaking. He said that they could fix it, but it was a two man job and couldn't come back until 12/04/2023. AND THEY DO NOT CHARGE ANY EXTRA TO GO DOWN INTO THE CRAWL SPACE. That was one day before we were supposed to close escrow.

I spoke with my real estate broker and we both decided that it should be done sooner, so I call American Home Shield back and they agreed to transfer the job and referred Proline Plumbing. Rather than wait for them to call me, I called Proline Plumbing and explained my situation to them. I told them that I had a main drain from the bathtub that was leaking in the crawl space. I told them the previous plumber had gone down into the crawl space and even took pictures that he gave me copies of. I explained to them that I need this repaired as soon as possible. They said no problem and sent two of their plumbers the next day. Their plumbers showed up the next day and explained to me that if I needed them to go down into the crawl space, there is a $150.00 charge plus sales tax. I told the two plumbers the same thing I told the customer service person on the phone. I have a leak in the crawl space from the bath tub. I even have pictures. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON DID NOT INFORM ME OF THE $150.00 CHARGE PLUS SALES TAX TO HAVE THEIR PLUMBER GO DOWN INTO THE CRAWL SPACE.

Since I had less than a week to close escrow and had to make sure the leak was fixed, I paid them. They went into the crawl space and did see and confirm the leak. After they left I called their customer service department again and explained to them that I shouldn't have to pay the $150.00 CHARGE PLUS SALES TAX TO HAVE THEIR PLUMBER GO DOWN INTO THE CRAWL SPACE, because I told you on my first call where the leak was and you NEVER told me about the charge to go down into the crawl space. They said that they had to investigate where the leak was. I again told them I knew where the leak was and even have pictures and they said too bad so sad, that is how we do business. I asked to speak to a supervisor who told me the same thing. I asked the supervisor if I could speak to her boss and she said the buck stops here.

I called NW Sundance Plumbing back to see if they could still come out and fix the leak and they said yes. I called American Home Shield back and had them transfer the work order back to NW Sundance Plumbing and the leak was fixed and didn't cost me any more since I had already paid my deductible.

So the moral of the story is, BUYER BEWARE IF YOU DECIDE TO DO BUSINESS WITH PROLINE PLUMBING.

Good after hours service. However, we had several tub and shower valve bodies replaced previously. That being said, when I pay for after hours service and request to have another valve body replaced for a tub that will not shut off, I expect not to be charged a ""diagnostic fee"". The job was to replace the valve body. We already knew the valve bodies were severely worn. It felt a little like a money grab.

Scammed us out of services not even needed. This was proven by city water officials. Very unprofessional workers while at house screaming across house to each other. Leaving front door open as they worked. No concern about the customer. Substandard work and knowledge of the system.
