We used Professional Plumbing Services for a bathroom renovation in our old (1930s) home. Louis was professional, communicative, and easy to work with. The job had several facets - demolition, tiling, installation of new sink and cabinets, etc. As the contractor, Louis was impressive about following through and following up throughout this 6-week project. He was always reachable and polite and respectful in all interactions. His team (plumbers, tiler, etc) was also solid; we appreciated their good work and care for all aspects of the project. We'd recommend PPS for plumbing work and/or renovations.

Nothing but professional. Did not finish the job and said would come back the next day to finish. Scheduled to come at 12:00 on Friday. Did not come. We called the office many many times and nobody answered the phone. Nobody called us for the entire weekend and next Monday. We had a dishwasher sitting in the middle of our kitchen! Highly Unprofessional. Be aware of their charges too -- they charged much more than their quote.

so, now here we are in March 2022, I attempted to communicate with company because tub is STILL SQUEAKING & CREAKING. told them I give them some 'slack' due to COVID, but now something should be done to resolve this matter. Jus recently [FEB 2022], I asked another professional plumbing agency who was working on neighbor's property to take a look at our tub problem & asked them what they thought. They said that the wood planks that were placed under the bathtub prior to installation was unsatisfactory and that is why the tub 'creaks and squeals' when we use it. Basically, POOR preparation & SUB-STANDARD material was used for the job.
still no response from Professional (?) Plumbing Services..
SAD,,,

As a Real Estate Broker and Property Manager, I use PPS regularly. Their crew is very professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. I would recommend PPS for all your plumbing and kitchen/bath renovation projects. I would especially like to thank Louis, Grady, and Heather for their wonderful assistance over the years!

Prompt, professional service. Had my 50-gallon hot water heater replaced. They returned the following business day to fine tune the service.

PPS has been serving all of our plumbing needs for more than 8 years. They have installed new toilets and faucets, upgraded our condo plumbing and have responded immediately when there was a plumbing emergency. Just this week they rerouted a workman to fix a small issue that I couldn't deal with.
I recommend the company highly for responsiveness, efficiency and expertise.

I recently needed to get the shut off value for my hot water heater replaced, as the stem on the existing gate value had broken. I got a couple quotes, one being $275 (which in hindsight seems about appropriate). I then got a call back from Louis at Professional Plumbing Services. Louis seemed to understand the problem well, said the valve part itself was $40 and that PPS billed $120 for the first hour and then $60 per hour thereafter. Sounded reasonable, and at what seemed like an hour or two max job, it might come out about the same or lower than my previous quote and they had an opening the next day.
Plumber showed up a few minutes early for our 9 AM appointment. Nice, affable guy that checked out the problem and then promptly disappeared back into his van for 15 minutes. Not a good sign in hindsight, haha. He emerged from the van and I expected to see a bunch of parts ready to assemble, but to my surprise it didn't appear like anything had been accomplished.
The job ended up taking two and a half hours, with one more unexplained, unproductive disappearance into the van for 15 minutes during that time. Also, when cutting out the old section of pipe, the plumber didn't account for the water already in the line, which sprayed everywhere, with I'd estimate a half gallon to gallon of water overflowing into the wall cavity that the pipe was located in. I checked the moisture level in that wall the next day and the bottom half of the wall had a 100% moisture reading, necessitating that I cut another hole in the drywall at the bottom of the wall to avoid a potential mold issue down the road.
I've attached a picture of the finished work. It looks like a total of 8 soldered joints and a couple compression joints. Note: I had him add support for 1/4" connection to feed the ice maker on my garage refrigerator.
In total, I'd say it took two hours of work and 30 minutes sitting in his car.
After completing this, I had him take a look at a slow draining sink that I believe had some root inundation in the line. Prior to starting that work he asked if I minded if he took a short break. I said sure, just knock on the door when you are ready. He disappeared into his truck for another 20 minutes.
On to the clogged drain work ... So he snaked the sink one time, didn't come back with anything and thought that the sink was draining at an acceptable rate. I disagreed and got him to snake it a second time, upon which he pulled out a four foot section of root. Upon seeing the root, he said had never seen that come out of a drain, had no ability to address the issue, and that I should call a different plumber to look at it. He snaked it two more times (for a total of 4 attempts), but wasn't able to get anymore root out.
He then said he would head out to his truck and put the invoice together. Creating the invoice took another 20 minutes. So the invoice total came to $665 w/ tax. Four hours of work plus parts ... with the ball valve that Louis quoted at $40 being listed on the invoice for $80. Same ball valve sells for Amazon for $20. I totally expect a markup on parts but 4x!
So in the end, this is how the visit broke down time wise:
Onsite 9AM - 1PM
- Replace ball valve - 2 hrs
- 2 x 15 minute disappearances into truck - 30 minutes
- Rest in between ball valve and snaking sink - 20 minutes
- Snaking sink - 40 minutes
- Creating invoice - 20 minutes
To summarize, I was charged for 70 minutes of time ($140) that was purely resting in his truck and creating the invoice after the work was completed. Add to that being overcharged for parts and I estimate I paid $200 more than I should have been charged. To top it off, I later discovered that the invoice was actually written to a completely different customers name and address, complicating my record keeping for the job. Louis called later and apologized for the paperwork mix up and said he would get me proper paperwork with me listed as the customer ... well needless to say I never heard from him again or received said paperwork.
Needless to say, I will not be using PPS again, I recommend you take your business elsewhere. I hope my experience saves someone else!

Had Louis and his team do our bathroom renovation of our historic house. Old bathroom was '90s style with a shower only, so we replaced it with a tub and re-tiled everything with a more classic look.
The team did a great job with our bathroom renovation. Less than half the total cost of what one of those expensive design & contractor companies quoted me! Louis did a great job managing everything and making sure everything went smoothly. I bought the bathtub and tiles myself from Home Depot and they did all the work in the estimated 2 weeks. They made sure to protect our floors during the process and were very communicative with texts about who was coming when and asking how everything was going during the process.
Shout out to Grady and Glenn for the quick demo and plumbing work, and Mira and Luigi did a great job on all the tiling, it turned out great! Highly recommend.

terrible service! i was ready to pay cash and i was asking is if they could come the same day as when the water was shut off but nooooo! they have to come to make an estimate and then come back a different day to do the job. all so they can double charge for the visits. all i had was a leaky faucet, not a big job at all. i couldnt believe it. i don't think i was asking too much. just someone who could do the job the same day when the water was shut off and i was ready to pay cash. terrible...

I would never use PPS again, nor recommend them to anyone. I still have holes in my drywall, but I recognize this is not their expertise. But they should not be leaving behind a dirty work area or pieces of pipe for me to dispose of. They moved things without asking and then left them, including on the floor when they left. They missed a problem in remedying a leak which necessitates a second, longer call. Don't use PPS!
