Ethan S.Terrible! Stay away from this company!! On May 2,2022, I had a scheduled a/c checkup, which was part of my yearly a/c and heating coverage agreement. They canceled the appointment because it was drizzling outside. Jessica, who contacted me to cancel the appointment told me that someone would get in touch with me within 2-3 days. So, someone should have called to reschedule by May 5. This never happened!! On May 8, I reached out on their company website without any response. On May 9, 2022, I called and got transferred to their answering service. Again, there was no call back! I did the same outreach the next day and Wednesday May 11,2022. I had also written an email to the owner , Mike on May 10,2022. There were a total of 5 outreach attempts without a response, only leaving my cell number for them to call back. Finally, I was fed up with their lack of responsiveness to my calls and e-mails. When I left my third phone message today with their answering service, I told the receptionist that if I didn't get a call back today that I would be writing a negative review and I would be taking them to small claims court to get half of my contract money ( $543 ) returned to me. Only today did I finally get a call back from the owner Mike. He was nasty, when he should have been apologetic to me. He told me that he's dropping me as a customer. He said he was going to come to my home , which I took as an implied threat to me and my family. He also lied to me and told me that he contacted me 5 times. This is a blatant lie as I just spent the last few hours checking my phone records for my mobile phone and landline. He only called back after I threatened to take him to court for breach of contract, which seemed to be what he was doing by avoiding calling me back and providing the services that I paid for in my yearly contract.
I strongly urge anyone considering doing business with this company to seek another alternative. He is a nasty owner and can not be trusted. It is virtually impossible to reach anyone by phone and they certainly don't value their customers. I told him that I would give home 3 days from today to return half of my contract money. I don't expect that he will do this. So, I will likely be seeing him court in the near future!!
I'd like to give ZERO stars, but apparently I can't do it !!
The technician, Michael, came to my house over a week ago to give us an estimate for central air. Never took any notes or measurements, but said he would be in touch. Still haven't heard back about anything. Very unprofessional service because I made time in my schedule for this appointment and haven't heard back.
richie l.I highly recommend the team at Proactive. Mike (owner?) was prompt and professional and did a bang up job on my refrigerator. I can't thank you enough. Other places quoted me astronomical prices, but the team at Proactive were super competitive price wise. They far exceeded my expectations.
My A/C went down and they did a great job of squeezing me into a Saturday appt at the last minute before the weather got really hot. Not only do I feel like they spoke to me in terms I can easily understand, but they make me feel they are trying every alternative approach before taking a more expensive route. They explained what they are doing it and why versus some repairmen do then slam you with a big bill. I would suggest speaking with them before you make a costly mistake in doing unnecessary work with another vendor. I assure you they will be the best price.
We've had a relationship with Pro Active for a few years now and generally they are very polite and prompt. It irks us to have to write this review but us feel it morally necessary.
They came to do our standard Gas Heating Inspection. Since they've done this before we allowed them access to the boiler room and let them go about their job. When they finished they informed us everything was in working order and were on their way out the door. We asked them if they can show us what they did down in the boiler room and if there is anything we should know. They assured us that it really wasn't necessary, everything was fine (This was my error as we should have made it more of an expectation versus a suggestion).
A few days later, my husband went to inspect the dryer ducts that vent through the boiler room, because the clothes weren't drying ...
These ducts carry the dryer exhaust to be vented outside.
They were completely disassembled and lying in pieces, all over the boiler room floor.
Here's the thing, we checked the boiler room before they came down, making sure our carbon monoxide detectors were functioning. Everything was properly in place and working fine.
It appears they took it upon themselves to take apart these ducts, not asking or informing us at all.
Now, unknown to us, our gas dryer was venting into the boiler room instead of outside, because the ducts were no longer connected. We were extremely confused, angry and frightened at the potential danger involved in this. In my haste to fix the situation, I forgot to take any photos (I know this may work against me but there's nothing I can do now), we called our contractor (who came the next morning) and he put it all back together. Even he was perplexed as to why they would do this.
This happened in the Fall of 2019 and I thought initially that I wouldn't write this review. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I would simply speak to them in the Spring when it was time to do our Air Conditioning Maintenance.
I spoke to a very polite, concerned girl who assured me that she would speak to Mike immediately and he would get back to us.
Well, it's been a week and we haven't heard anything from them. Therefore, I feel it is time to share my experience as I really wouldn't want anyone to have to deal with anything similar. This was extremely unprofessional both in their actions and their (lack of) response.

EDIT: Proactive called me exactly one day after I posted this review. I'm sorry but after a whole week of waiting and then receiving a phone call only AFTER this review was up shows me that company reputation is more important that true customer service.
We just used proactive to install a new central ac system. Mike and his team were very efficient, kind, knowledgable and respectful of my home. Mike helped me throughout the whole process to make sure i was picking what was right for my home. I highly recommend!

I would never recommend them they came to my house sold me a bill of goods rip me off of my hard earned cash and then when I neededto come back they made me wait and told me I needed a new system but first they ripped me off would never use them or recommend them again
I would give them the poorest rating
I had someone come out to service our 1 year old Navien system. The tech opened up the system, checked a few parts and told me that the system is really clean and didn't need much work. I paid the fee and he was on his way. That night I noticed that there was water leaking and condensation so I had to have them come out again. They don't have any evening hours, which is not their fault, but due to this I had to take time off from work each time they had to come look at the system. After having them look at my system a second time, I noticed that there were minor issues here and there with the system. For example there was a constant water leaking sound inside the pipes, also the system would be constantly running on and off even when water wasn't being used in the home.
We decided to have another plumber come out and check the system because about a month later we had hot water issues. Turns out that the system needed a flush, and some parts were loose which was causing the system to have the water running issue and the constant turning on and off. Very disappointed that ProActive was not able to catch these problems and our system ran worse than before they came out to look at it.
I am one very happy customer. ProActive Home Services has been very responsive, even on weekends. They are timely, thorough, clean and a pleasure to work with. Super service, highly recommend.
