I had a leak from my A/C unit and called Pro-Tech... I have used them before without any issues, but this time the tech could not find the issue on the a/c unit. When the tech arrived at my house he told me that he would not perform any repairs before my approval... He checked the pump outside the house, measured the power, gas lines, and everything he could think of. Inside of the house he could not find any issues also. Few minutes before he left, he dumped two gallons of water to see if the catch tray was cracked or the drain line was plugged, but no. He also said that he did not wanted to do a clean out if he was not sure the issue was with the drain line. Few minutes before he left, I had to leave with one of my kids and he stayed at my house for few more minutes. When I got home I asked my mife if he found the issue and she said that he showed her the ipad for signature of the service, but without an invoice or any paperwork, so unfortunately she signed it. I asked what did he charged, and she told me that he communicated that it was $199 something.... Wait what? To do a diagnostic of issues they charge $119, plus an enviromental fee of $14 (which is fine). So, on the invoice I received that was a charge of $59 for... I am not sure what for, a weird code and a """"lv1 technitian minor service."""" What service? So I called in the next morning and after two days no one could talk to the tech from Pro-Tech to ask what was the repair done? So I ended up talking to a manager (who was pretty rude) and her word was that """"the tech was at your house for over two hours and could not find the issue, so he did a """"soft clean"""" on the drain line and was very generous to not charge you the $199for the drain line cleanning price."""" Did I agree with the service? Her answer was that he spoke to my wife about it... Well, he did not get anything approved by her, just asked for for a signature on the ipad and left... If for a company dont care about losing a client who could bring them more business, with this very competitive a/c repair market, and with a bad review on the internet would mean more than $59 charged without approval, then I dont know what else worth a client for them. I do not recommend Pro-Tech and hope they delete all my recorded info on their system.

The fan on our ac litterally fell off and the part needed to be replaced. When I spoke with Lynn she was extremely friendly and got all of my information and got me scheduled for the earliest appointment available. When Hector arrived he was extremely professional and he followed safety protocols wearing a facemask and keeping physical distance which made me feel at ease. He did an initial check of pur system and gave us a fair quote for the repairs. Because the part needing to be replaced was under warranty he had to go and get the part, but normally they have replacement parts in the van. But under the circumstances of the warranty this was fine. I was contacted several times by the office to give me expected return times for later in the day and when he returned he want right to work to get our ac up and running once again. Thank you Hector and all of the office staff that were able to help get us cool again!

Considered an essential business, (thank God, we live in Florida where it's a sauna!!) they answered my call for a checkup and an evaluation for cooling the garage. So happy they are open during the quarantine/covid-19. They were able to come sooner than I could accommodate, so we agreed on Thursday. Two guys came out, one was training the other to be on his own soon. It was an all day affair. One of my units checked out fine. The other one had some issues so they had to drain the Freon and check it out. I asked if they wouldn't mind cleaning up the squirrel skeleton under the unit. The young guy straight up said no! The older guy chuckled, grabbed my trash bag and went up and cleared it all out. So thankful! They were very considerate of my carpet etc. Protec installed my hot water heater which is why I called them for my AC needs. I figure, if they can do plumbing and AC, they can figure out how to cool my garage. As it turned out, I needed a separate appointment for evaluation for the air conditioning install. They are not allowed to tee off my existing unit into the garage. It's illegal. So I called and they said they could send someone out on Monday. The guy came and we talked about the options. We agreed on a new install and he was able to schedule me that week, Thursday. The team of three guys, the one who grabbed the squirrel carcass, and two other men came on Thursday and installed the unit. They were here all day, but as promised, they did it in one day. They had some issues with the wrong piping and had to redo it. They also made a small hole in the garage wall for the drainage pipe that didn't work out, so they have to come back and plug the hole. They also need to come back and cover the pipes. They didn't have everything for this custom project. The idea for the garage to be cooled is to take the edge of in the summer when I work out, not to cool It all the time. It works amazing. It has a remote control. A thermostat install would be an extra charge, but you could get it WiFi compatible and control it from your phone. Protec has an optional membership which can be tailored to your needs and is priced out depending on what you want and how many units you have. I joined. It includes 15% off plumbing and AC repairs. Hope I don't need to use that benefit. They're really good about calling and emailing. They will communicate both ways or whatever you prefer. Very professional. I would recommend them. You might get a better price with someone else, but you won't get the same warranty and guarantee.
