We called Pro Tech Air Conditioning and Plumbing Serv. to perform maintenance service on our air Conditioner. (Mind you, nothing wrong with the Unit, only a preventive service call) The technician came in, look at the inside unit and check the thermostat. He then, preceded to look at the Unit outside, and can back inside and told us that there was a weak capacitor that needed to be replaced. We of course, told him that if it needed repair, to go ahead and replace it. He informed us that the cost of the part was $360.00. My husband said that the cost was outrageous, that he has worked on electronics all his life and there was no way that a capacitor would cost that much. My husband asked the tech for the box of the replacement part and look it up on the web and the cost of the part is $42.00. He told the technician about what he found out on the web, and actually showed it to him and the tech. said that he had no control over prices; that was the price that his company showed. We called that company and expressed our disappointment, and told them that this was the last time we would be using their services... They offered no apologies, the only thing they could say was that the price was that, because they needed it to be properly installed. On their website they advertise that """" with a maintenance contract you get discounted replacement parts""""... (Do not used this company, the are scammers.

We came to Pro-Tech after issues with another company in our area. I have nothing but good things to say. Each technician has been professional and courteous, as well as knowledgeable. Office employees are friendly and helpful. I finally have a company I can trust.

Requested a tech to come out and repair fresh water line to water heater figuring about $200.00, said they needed to do an estimate. So they come back with a $1500.00 dollar repair, I was like to fix a fitting. Said they needed to remove my water take, tear into my wall to replace the entire line and re-install the water heater. How in the heck does repairing a fitting turn into a major project. Tried to run me over the coals. People beware, I found a licensed plumber that came out and in 45 mins he was done and only costed me $180.00 with hospital grade fittings, That's with a Tip..

This company is a complete rip off. They know you need help and they take full advantage of that and charge you astronomical amounts and then do a half ass job. For clogged pipes, he charged us $1200 to use a pressure hose to clear the pipes, which caused human waste and other stuff I never want to see again, back up and into our home. He said we were on our own about cleaning it. 2 days later we are clogged again and he said he would come out again for another $1700 ( he said he normally charges $3000+). Called another company and they came out right away and didn't use pressure but a drain snake with a bit and cleared the blockage with that for less than $700. Pro Tech wanted almost $3000 for what this guy did and didn't leave us with a giant mess too. Oh and the guy from the second company said if they use pressure to clean a pipe they seal off all the holes in the house. Don't use Pro tech.

PRO-TECH IS A RIP OFF COMPANY!!! After Hurricane Milton our HVAC stopped working. Since they installed it in 2009, we called to have them service it. Rather than making ANY EFFORTS to repair our system Ricardo informed us that the entire system needed to be replaced at a $13000 cost!!! Well, I have always believed in getting a 2nd opinion. A neighbor recommended Artic Air so I called them. They came the next day. Artic Air's mechanic, Will, checked all the same components and stated that nothing was wrong at all!!! Then, he only charged us $115 for the service call thus saving us thousands of dollars.

Please note - I only received a quote from this company. I did not have them perform any kind of service on my HVAC unit. My husband and I were unfortunately faced with having to replace our whole HVAC unit. Pro-Tech is one of the companies we called for a quote. Right away the receptionist told me that they'd be more expensive than their competitors, and I should be aware of that before the person came out to give us a quote. The guy who came out was very professional and very friendly. He educated us a lot about what we needed, permits, breaker and the quality of various brands like Trane, Carrier and Brother. We did not choose Pro-Tech because it was almost $2,000 more expensive than the company we actually went with. They charge more because they explore the homeowner's attic for problems, come out a month after the installation for a courtesy check, and twice after that to make sure everything is still working properly. They're big on customer service, but I don't think that their customer service + a few courtesy service calls are worth the extra $2,000 price tag.

I had a leak in the wall I pulled all the wall apart and Exposed 2 cooper pipes with the pipes exposed he walked in said it would be $800.00 to cap 2 pipes. this 2 min look see cost $85.00. Knowing he had just come from another in lake Mary. I did not fall for this. They must be in the quote business

The best service I have ever had. From the first moment they were the most professional, best organized and did an amazing job. and the pricing was fair. It would be so great if more companies would be as professional and reliable. I had several companies out at the property to give me an estimate, everybody was talking about the difficult job and so on. But nobody else made me feel that they could honestly handle the job and knew exactly what they were doing. I can't praise Pro-tech enough, simply one of the very best.

In 2005 i had a new A/C installed, in 2015 it quite working, I called Pro-Tech and the Tech came out, and after examining the A/C determined it was the dual capacitor. He installed a new one. The total bill was $634.44 including a Warranty for $145.21 which has no length of time. Since i have Asthma from Allergies i was desperate. It was paid in Full. Going forward to Aug 8, 2017 the A/C quite working again. They could not get to me until Tues. The Tech came out and examined the A/C until and said it was the dual capacitor one half controls the fan. Even though i paid for a warranty i am not sure what it was for? It was $ 200.00 For a Capacitor from AmRad. Which has a FIVE YEAR WARRANTY,. meaning Pro-tech charged me $200.00 took my Capacitor and AmRad exchanges it for a new one from Pro-Tech. I know i called AmRad, it is a Florida Company in the Palm Coast. Part of this is my fault for not checking further into this Company, and also not questioning the Warranty that i paid for. I used them the second time, because i was sure it was the Capacitor and figured it was under warranty since it was less then two years. Pro-tech got $ 834.44 from me on a capacitor that cost maybe $25.00 , and charging me for a warranty that is useless. I wrote to Tom Nixon President but have not heard back. I am trying to help others like these other reviews to make sure no one falls prey to Pro-Tech.

Pro-Tech had some credibility to build up with me after years with Tim Benjamin. They have come thru every time with flying colors. When it comes to some things it is not about price it is about service. Pro-Tech and the techs that have come to my house do give fantastic service. Shop price all you want, when it's 90+ outside I want my A/C is work. I cannot say enough positive things about this business from top to bottom.
