Family-owned since 2008, Pro-Tec has built a reputable presence as the premier property plumbing and air-conditioning provider. Our lead plumber Richard Hume founded Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with some tools and boxes of fittings from the back of his vehicle. Like any successful entrepreneur, he devoted himself day and night, handing out flyers to find new customers and connections. Despite a challenging downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing endured; each year, we expanded our capabilities by hiring new employees, equipment, and assets to the company. Having reliably grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a complete water system organization. What started as a one-man operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 team members. Though we still grow, Rick's original promise remains the basis of Pro-Tec: build a business centered on hard work and transparency and ensure the quality of work we would expect in our own properties.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were raised in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they grew up until the early 2000s.

Brandon transferred to Florida in 2004 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he played golf and majored in finance. Meanwhile, Rick developed a growing passion for plumbing; he became his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and started what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After graduating from his degree, Brandon supported in hand-digging Rick's first residential home in 2009. He decided to partner with his brother full-time as the company's vice president in 2011, overseeing the office side of the enterprise.
