Privately held since 2008, Pro-Tec Plumbing & Air has developed a reputable presence as Southwest Florida's home and business plumbing and air-conditioning service. Our Master Plumber Richard Hume launched Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with just tools and containers of fittings from the back of his vehicle. Like any successful entrepreneur, he dedicated himself day and night, handing out flyers to find new customers and contacts. Despite a challenging downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing persevered; each year, we grew our capabilities by adding new staff, equipment, and resources to the company. Having steadily grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has evolved -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a complete water system organization. What began as a one-man operation is now a successful company with over 50 team members. Though we remain grow, Rick's original vision remains the basis of Pro-Tec: build a business centered on dedication and integrity and provide the quality of work we would expect in our own homes.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were born in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they resided until the early 2000s.

Brandon relocated to Florida in 2004 to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where he was involved in golf and focused in finance. Meanwhile, Rick developed a increasing passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and initiated what would evolve into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After completing his degree, Brandon supported in digging Rick's first residential project in 2009. He decided to team up with his brother for good as the company's vice president in 2011, overseeing the business side of the operation.
