Family-owned since 2008, Pro-Tec Plumbing & Air has developed a reputable presence as the leading property plumbing and air-conditioning service. Our lead plumber Richard Hume founded Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. in 2008 with some tools and containers of fittings from the back of his pickup truck. Like any great entrepreneur, he dedicated himself day and night, handing out flyers to attract new customers and contacts. Despite a challenging downturn in 2009, Pro-Tec Plumbing endured; each year, we grew our capabilities by bringing on new staff, vehicles, and tools to the company. Having steadily grown over the years, Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc. has changed -- we are now Pro-Tec Plumbing, Water & Gas, a comprehensive water system provider. What began as a solo operation is now a flourishing company with over 50 team members. Though we remain grow, Rick's original commitment remains the cornerstone of Pro-Tec: create a business centered on dedication and honesty and deliver the quality of work we would want in our own houses.

Brothers Richard (Rick) and Brandon Hume were raised in Plymouth, Massachusetts, where they lived until the early 2000s.

Brandon transferred to Florida in 2004 to enroll in Florida Gulf Coast University, where he played golf and studied in finance. Meanwhile, Rick developed a growing passion for plumbing; he achieved his license as a Master Plumber in 2008 and launched what would grow into Pro-Tec Plumbing, Inc.

After finishing his degree, Brandon assisted in excavating Rick's first residential home in 2009. He chose to join his brother for good as the company's vice president in 2011, running the business side of the enterprise.
