If I could give them 10 stars,I would.I called on a Saturday because there was a leak inside my washer and I was very worried because I was going away for a week for work the very next day.Marco is God sent,he came within minutes on a Saturday afternoon and it turned out that I needed a new washer and dryer.Excellent and prompt service.I would call them again for plumbing needs and would recommend them to friends and family.I am more than thankful for Marco fixing my problem and giving me peace of mind while Im away at work.

It was 1 am on a Friday night (my birthday!), when I found a puddle around our water heater and could hear the leak. I was tired and unhappy, and after finding a few 24 hr plumbers on YELP, I left a few messages. Marco at Pro Roto was the only one who called back - within a couple of minutes! He came over within 20-30 minutes and found the leak (at now 2 am). It was an old water heater and needed replacing, so his crew was back at 9:30 the next morning with the new water heater. Jose did a great job and replaced the valves and straps that weren't very durable. I am thrilled with the service and their ACTUALLY being available 24 hours a day, including weekends!! Best birthday present ever!

My water heater went out while I was traveling on the East Coast. My son called me and told me what happened. The next morning at 5:30am PT I called 4 different places to schedule a repair. I expected to get voicemail. For 3 of the 4 I was unable to leave a message. I was able to leave a message with Pro Roto and within 5 min Isaac called me back!

He assigned someone to go to my house that day. I explained that I needed a quote by 11am PT so I could decide before i got on my flight. They called me later and told me they would be at my house at 7:45am. They got back to me with a quote and fixed the water heater the same day.

My experience with this plumber is poor. They have an ad I Yelp and it says they provide you a $80 coupon discount for a $149 job. However when you call they say yes you get the $80 discount on a $350 charge. They said that was the competitive going rate. So I looked up my previous plumber Bayshore plumbing who did an excellent job last time and charges $145 for a standard cleanout.

Coming home from work, I discovered that my main water lined had backed up into my house. Pro Roto came out that night and fixed the problem. They were very knowledgeable. Simply put, these guys are awesome. Read the reviews, everyone said they actually answered the phone. Sure enough, and put me immediately in touch with Marco, who was on call. Marco was passionate about not charging more than possible, which in this case was coming after 4 pm and going into overtime. Said I couldn't wait, so I was willing to pay extra. Instead, he called one of his less urgent appointments, rescheduled that, and came to my house in 15 minutes. Fixed my problem and was on his way.

What did they do for us?

1. Root caused our problems:
1.a. thirsty tree roots invaded and partially blocked the sewer line at multiple spots on our property.
1.b. rusted out cast-iron sewer pipes needing replacement. This is from within the house to all the way to the city-owned cleanouts just within our property line.

2. Installed 2-way cleanouts near our house where there was none before. This would assist with any future clogs (if any).
Replaced 65 year old cast-iron sewer line with new HDPE sewer line using trenchless method that should last generations.

The Story

Our story started with clogged toilets and backed up shower drains in the wee hours of a Sunday morning around 1AM.

Pro Roto's Isahak picked up our call; and sent Mike over to investigate.

For context, our house is Eichler-inspired built on slab foundation with no crawl space.

By the time Mike was done investigating at just before 3AM, we learned that to further the investigation and clear our clog, we need to install two-way cleanouts just outside our house because we don't have any.

Before the crew installed the new clean outs on Monday, as a last attempt, they video scoped from our 3-inch wide plumbing ventilation pipe on our roof; as well as the 2-inch wide cleanout outside our kitchen; and determined that the cleanouts are necessary since the clogged water was too murky to see anything and the scope got stuck at the same spot in the pipe from both the roof and kitchen.

After the cleanouts were installed, it was finally revealed to us our problems: thirsty tree roots have gotten into our rusted out cast-iron sewer line.

Cast-iron sewer pipes will eventually rust out when they are buried underground in somewhat wet clay soil.

Rooting out the tree roots would only be a short term solution. The correct long term solution is to replace the sewer line with HDPE pipes that won't rust underground and have no gaps or any openings for any tree root to get into.

And hence the need to dig a hole in our bathroom (cutting out porcelain tiles, jackhammering concrete, digging out dirt) to access the sewer line under our house from within the house which is necessary for the trenchless sewer line replacement method.

Pro Roto's crew made sure our furnitures are properly covered, kitchen sealed off, and covered the tiled floor from our main front door to our bathroom to protect the floor from dirt and unmentionables; and to protect the furniture and kitchen from all the dust generated from the jackhammering. They made sure our tiled bathroom walls are covered too and added buffer paddings on the wall as necessary to avoid scrapes and dings from their trenchless hydraulic machinery.

By Friday, Pro Roto was almost done. They have covered up all the holes they have previously dug; and poured cement in our bathroom. They also repaired and reconnected the irrigation pipes for our lawn. Except for the untiled bathroom, it was as if nothing has ever happened to our house. They have been quite thorough!

I am now engaging a general contractor to re-tile my bathroom today (Saturday). Once they are done, Pro Roto will return to re-set our commode; and we would be made whole once again.

We are extremely grateful for Pro Roto's help to get us out of plumbing hell so quickly.
