Our ejector pump stopped working suddenly, causing water to back up into our basement utility room. After reading the other excellent reviews, I called Ben and discussed the issue. He quoted me a good and fair price for replacement of the ejector pump, so I asked him to come by. He came out on a Saturday morning within 30 minutes of our call.

Ben confirmed that the pump needed replacement and then promptly installed the new ejector pump. He also helped clean up the water that had spilled into the basement, which was greatly appreciated.

I will gladly call Ben again whenever we have any plumbing needs. I cannot recommend Ben and Principle Plumbing enough. Great work!

Following the great polar vortex of 2019 I had a pipe burst in my basement leaving me with an inch of water. After calling 5 companies and being put on a minimum of one day waitlist, I found Ben through yelp. When I spoke with him I could tell he was on another job but he told me he could come within an hour and a half. He called when he was on the way and showed up in the time provided. We talked about the problem, which was behind a wall, and he was courteous, funny, and down to earth. He blindly located the source of the burst on the first try and had me up and running within an hour, including replacing an outdoor spigot. He told me what he was doing step by step all along the way which I prefer especially in a tense emergency like I was experiencing.

To sum it up, Ben did great work at a fair price and has a great personality. No doubt I'll be using him in the future for any other projects or emergencies that come my way and recommending him to anyone looking.

This review is for Principle Plumbing based on the responsiveness to a yelp quote request. I entered a yelp quote request at 10:15pm on a Thursday for a water heater repair. Ben responded within 30 minutes- he was out of town, but walked me thru steps to make sure the unit was actually in need of repair, and shared what he would have charged so I had a ballpark idea of what was ""normal"" for the job. Ben reached out to help even knowing he was not going to get the job. Just super -Thank you, Ben! Principle Plumbing is now on my ""go-to"" list for plumbing services!

There are a lot of quirks working on a 150 year old house, and Ben did a great job installing our new 50 gal power vent water heater. Despite narrow stairs, low overhead joists and a mess of water, drain, electric and hvac lines, he had the old unit out and the new one installed in less than 3 hours. It was my first experience with him but he's the kind of plumber (tradesman) you hope to find . . . honest, a problem solver with reasonable rates.

I called Ben after reading the great reviews on Yelp and agree.
Ben responded immediately on line (on a Sunday night) and we set up appointment.
He arrived promptly and completed the job quickly. He brought booties and a floor covering which I appreciated.
The price was just as we agreed with no added expense.
Our sump pump was going on several times while he was there which I didn't even notice . He asked if he could look at it to be sure all was well ( he assured me it was fine, but I appreciated his taking notice)

Prior to getting anything done, I had two choices: The plumber associated with Home Depot (DLC), and then two quotes from plumbers in Wheaton from Yelp listing. Price wise: $340/Home Depot), $295 quote 1, and $200 quote 2. I called Principle Plumbing, and he answered the phone, affirmed the quote, and said he might be able to do it at end of day. It is now 14:50 hours, he has come, done all the work (removed and old sink, installed new one for the quoted amount). He worked fast, diligently and cleaned up after himself. I am thoroughly satisfied with the job done and have adopted him as ""my"" plumber.

Having dealt with my fair share of shady, price gouging plumbers, Dealing with Principle plumbing was a refreshing experience. Ben took time to understand my setup and provided a very competitive price.

He arrived when he said he would, was very tidy and completed the replacement of two old 40 gallon unites with a pair of new 50 gallon unites in a bit over two hours, including re-aligning the water and gas piping to account for the difference in tank size (unlike the last time I had a big-box store replace it). He's my plumber from now on.
