My wife and I heard through the grape vine that AO Smith Hot Water tanks are on the higher end but well worth the cost. Unfortunately you can only buy them through contracted plumbers. I pulled a search on line to find a couple different plumbers in Kitsap County that carry and install the AO Smith line. After getting one of the two contractors to come to my home and give me an estimate I nearly passed out ... or punched the guy, I wanted to do both actually, for giving me such an insane estimate. The guy quoted me at $3100.00 !! Sure this included haul away of the old tank, a new stand and a 2.1 gallon overflow tank ... I still new from researching prices that this was insane. HA !! He even wanted $200.00 for installation of new earthquake straps !!! That's when I called Preston to get a second quote.
He was scheduled to arrive at 8:00 am on my day off. He arrived at 8:03, very punctual. He removed my old tank, installed the new AO Smith tank .... NOTE: Exact same tank that I was quoted from the other contractor by the way. He installed a new metal stand and the overflow tank with new earthquake straps and was done by 9:10 !!!! Only took him one hour. Guess what I paid ...... $1429.00 ... AFTER TAX !!!!!
Bottom line, this guy does awesome work, he's very sociable and friendly, and his costs for materials and labor are not through the roof. I would recommend his work to anybody in the Kitsap area. I won't name names on who the other company is because I don't want to rub mud in their eye but if you are looking for an AO Smith there are only one two companies in this area who installs so you can figure it out pretty easily who the other company is.
Thanks Preston for doing such great work !! I will definitely recommend you to my co-workers and friends.

My water heater needed replacing. Preston gave me an instant quote to replace it over the phone, came the next day and replaced it in about an hour. The price was exactly as quoted. The price was lower than the 2 other plumbers I quoted and Preston was able to take care of it sooner than they were. During the job Preston was very polite and professional. For any future plumbing needs I will only be making one call - Preston Plumbing.
Lisa M.Preston is such a great guy! He was quick to step to the plate with a plumbing emergency and corrected in less than 20 minutes. Not only is he awesome at his trade, but he has manners as well, and refused to wear his shoes in my house. A true lifesaver, this guy is, and if you need a plumber, Preston is the right guy for the job!
Renee W.We have a Navien tankless water heater that other local plumbers weren't experienced in and we've given money away to them trying to repair it. I wish we were given Preston Plumbing information from the start. Great customer service, quick turn around time and excellent on site service. Our unit was replaced in less than an hour and 45 min and hot water was restored. Choose Preston if you're looking for 5 star service and support local!
This guy is 100%. It is a one man shop and exceptionally conscientious. I called him to repair a shower valve, he was there on time, it took him about 15 minutes and volunteered a replacement cartridge from the manufacturer at no charge for the cartridge. This was after a competing company stated it would be necessary to replace the entire valve and accessing the plumbing by cutting the wall from the dining room. At a cost of more than $500.
Jamie S.I would highly recommend preston plumbing. We closed on our new house which had a 21 year old gas hot water heater just hanging out on the ground. We called places like home Depot and Lowes to see how much going tankless would be. Both gave us a ballpark range of an ungodly amount to go tankless. We found preston plumbing online and decided to call them because he has the best reviews online. Boy was a glad we found him! He was very polite, helpful and installed the tankless gas water heater very quickly! It works great! The BEST part was that his price didn't even come close to home Depot or Lowes! If you want excellent service for a reasonable price, preston plumbing is the way to go!
I called Preston Plumbing this morning with a major emergency. A group of burglars had broken into the house and started to steal the copper pipes. Preston was able to respond the same day and did a great job in repairing the pipes at a very reasonable price.
Ellefson B.Good work. Quick. Everything went as expected. Will hire any time I have plumbing work needed. Very knowledgeable. Good communicating, as well.
A few years ago I called a local plumbing chain for drain and pressure problem in my 1928 home with its galvanized piping. While their technician was here I asked for an idea of how much it would cost to do a re-plumb of my home. I was stunned at his estimate, even though it wasn't an official quote, and shocked at how cavalier he seemed about ripping up my walls. That figure actually got me thinking on doing the work myself, down to the point of practicing on making up copper and PVC joints.
When the inevitable came two months ago, and I had torn my own walls open in preparation for the first cut, I looked at my wife and asked if she was ready. She gave me the ""Wouldn't you like to call someone first"" look as she said ""Yep, I'm ready"". Brave girl! So I took some time to search the net for local plumber reviews, knowing who I wasn't going to call. I stumbled upon Yelp, and after reading a couple of pages of reviews, found that Preston Plumbing was local to me and had great reviews. I called and we met later that day. We ended up hashing out a plan to re-plumb my house. Nice guy, polite and respectful to both me and my wife. Anyway, the price he quoted was fully 50% less than the local chain quoted me years before. There was just about a week between when he first quoted me a price and when he started the work, and in that week I changed the plan twice. I decided on replacing my 21yr old water heater and told him that I wanted copper in the basement instead of PEX. He adapted well to these new requests and the adjusted price quote was still acceptable, still 40% less than the chain had quoted me for just the re-plumb without a water heater. And, with just a bit of help from my wife and me, we all had the job done in 2 days, totaling @19hrs (he worked hard to fit the job into my time off work).
I've already recommended him to people I know and will continue to do so.
I was in the Seattle area visiting my grandfather and unfortunately plugged up his sink making dinner. After several hours trying to resolve the problem myself, I gave up and called a Plumber the next morning. Preston answered right away and was at my grandfathers house within the hour. He made short work of my mess and I was relieved to have this problem resolved. I would recommend this company, they are prompt, do good work, and the bill is reasonable.
