Cuts corners. Ghosted and didn't fix the issue he created. Costed $4k more and a different company to fix the issues he created.

It's a little long, but if you're looking at Preston Plumbing, Inc. for a big job, do yourself the favor and read. I'll leave a TLDR at the top for the lazy.
TLDR: Preston installed new tankless hot water heater, he botched it and ghosted me, leaving me without hot water during the first 4 weeks of winter due to shit weather and me being naïve.
I'm a new homeowner and not skilled with any DIY jobs. August of 2022 and my tankless hot water heater died and needed to be replaced.
The first few places I called couldn't do installations of tankless heaters. Preston was the first I found who said he could, so I went with him. He came out 2 or 3 days later, ripped out my old unit, then installed the new and was on his way. The new unit worked great, up until the middle of November that is. Our new heater started flashing exhaust blockage error codes.
Called Preston up and he came out the next day to take a look. He took off the front, turned on the water, checked a couple of hoses. He told me I need to go on top of my roof to look for any blockages that in my vent, and to text him with my findings. This was the last I heard from Preston.
Multiple calls and voicemails sent, never heard back. I just wanted hot water before it got really cold. That same week it started snowing :( These calls were over the course of 2 weeks. I figured he might be out of town for the holidays or taking a vacation. We're all people. Eventually I had to come to terms with the fact that I was being ghosted.
A few appointments with other professionals later and the problem was figured out: Preston had installed the tankless hot water heater too high up my wall which in turn pushed up the exhaust vent. This led to a buildup of condensation that turned into over a gallon of water in my pipes, preventing the exhaust from exiting. Additionally, Preston used all the pre-existing fittings and piping from the previous heater while the new plumber replaced all of the old fittings and piping.
Preston was nice, personable, timely, and seemingly knowledgeable. My only conclusion for him not returning any of my calls was that he didn't know what the issue was or that he knew it would cost him more money.

Prompt, professional, courteous, efficient, and informative. Finished the work in record time. 10/10 recommend!

Preston Plumbing has set itself apart as the only plumbing service we will utilize for our plumbing needs moving forward. Preston (the owner) responded to our inquiry promptly. He was able to offer us an appointment within a couple of days, and he kept that appointment. He was respectful and personable throughout all of our interactions. And, perhaps best of all, he was able to diagnose and fix our plumbing issues quickly and competently. It can be difficult to find good, reliable service in this day and age, but Preston Plumbing is certainly on that shortlist.

The sellers of a home we had recently purchased had a plumbing contractor make a repair on a gas fitting in the attic after noticing a smell in the entryway. My brother and I came up from out of state to paint and noticed the same strong smell in the entryway and laundry room. We reached out to the plumber they had used and his response was that he believed the odor was something other than gas and likely a musty damp smell and to turn up the heat. Another colleague from his shop never showed up after stating they would stop by to look at it. We also found that another plumbing contractor was called out to address the smell before the 'repair' was made and they couldn't isolate the leak.
We reached out to Preston after noticing a gas smell coming from the water heater controller area. I asked if he could replace the 10 year old water heater and look for any other leaks. He responded to my late evening email about an hour later and said he would be there the next day at 1PM to replace the water heater and assess for any leaks.
Preston arrived on time and immediately noticed the gas smell in the laundry and water heater area. He went up into the attic and found the gas smell was very strong. He replaced the water heater (found a loose gas fitting) and began isolating the gas leak with a couple of tests and narrowed it to the fittings in the attic. He thoroughly explained the process and said he would need to come back to pressure test the system to isolate the fittings or appliances that were leaking. He turned off the gas at the tank until he was able to come back.
Two days later Preston was back and found two leaks in the attic. One was a small leak and another was a huge leak coming from the 'repaired' fitting the prior plumbing contractor completed. The system was losing about 20lbs every two minutes. Since I was out of town, Preston videoed and photographed the damaged flex pipe caused by the previous contractor when he cut the pipe, which was the primary source of the leak. He completed the repairs and pressure tested the system again to ensure there were no more leaks. Something the prior contractor should have done but apparently didn't.
I never write reviews but I felt I needed to here. Everything happens for a reason. By answering my late evening email, Preston simply saved us from disaster. No question in my mind that Preston will be the only plumber I use for any future projects or issues. Preston was thorough, prompt and cared enough to investigate the gas leak and repair it. He was honest and charged a fair price for his work. If you ever find yourself needing a plumbing contractor, Preston is hands down your guy. Don't waste your time or take any chances with anyone else. Thank you Preston!

Amazing! We found a leak at 730pm hoping for someone to come out the next day. I called and left a message and Preston texted later in the evening. He was out first thing in the morning and saved our kitchen from flooding. We still haven't heard back from any of the other plumbers we left messages with with and the job is already completed. Highly recommend!!! Thank you!!!

I called and Preston was just finished with a client in my area so,
he came within 10 minutes. Preston was very professional and personable.
He did quality work and is now our family plumber.

We've hired Preston to install a new water heater and, more recently, to replace an old galvanized drain pipe to our kitchen sink (still traumatized from the sound of the basement ceiling caving in from a water leak...anyway). He is courteous, works quickly, and knows how to correct questionable plumbing choices made by the previous homeowners. Preston is not the cheapest plumber out there but his pricing is reasonable and we know the work will be done correctly.

Great service from Preston Plumbing all around! Call back, response time, and on-site, Preston was fast and efficient. He also looked at a future project and answered all my questions as well as managed my expectations. I will definitely call Preston again.

with regards to Chandler H's Comments below, I am the property manager for his house. I went over to look at it to make sure it was Not a loose pipe, after doing so, I called my dependable Plumber as in Preston Plumbing (who I have used for the entire time I have been doing Property Management. Anyway- Preston just called the tenant Chandler to set a time, but at the same time asked if she could possibly shoot a picture of the underneath of the sink & text to his cell phone, as there are thousands of parts that possibly would be needed and Preston just wanted to make sure that he came prepared to fix the job once and for all. Anyway- the tenant basically told him that he would not do that and basically told him to get over there and fix it. Preston called me to let me know and I called the tenant to let him know I was coming over to shoot that picture, which he refused to let me do and finally texted the picture. I think I had a tenant that was having a bad day. Anyway- I know Preston personally and he would NEVER tell anyone to F-off, that is for sure!! We felt it best to get a different company to go look at the problem as it seemed that the Tenant had a problem with Preston which went back to installing a brand new dishwasher the owners purchased for this unit. Anyway- I felt it unfair for the tenant to talk about my trusted Plumber this way- as he has done everything right on all the other jobs that I have had him do and at a fair price. As it was the owner ended up paying probably double what Preston Plumbing would have charged to fix if he just had a quick picture of the piping under the sink.
