I am always a bit worried when I hire a contractor to work on my home for the first time. You never know if you picked a good reputable contractor or not. I have wanted a have a Flo Smart Water Monitor & Shutoff for a few years but kept putting it off. My basement is finished and access to the water main is limited to a 14 inch access opening. I do have the Moen Smart Leak Detectors in several places around my home under sinks, toilets, etc. but want to have the peace of mind the auto shutoff provides since they can communicate with the shutoff and activate it if a leak is detected. I finally decided to get the Moen monitor and shutoff but wanted to get a professional installation for several reasons. I went on Moen's website and put in my zip code, which is where I found several local plumbers that are recommended by Moen for the installation. I looked at the closest plumbers located to me. All but one had online reviews that were good and bad. Prescher Plumbing Service had all 5 star reviews that were stellar. I read them and they all looked legit. With that I decided to have them do my install. But first some Q&A was needed. When I contacted them via email Mike responded promptly, within an hour! This was on a Saturday. His company utilizes text, email, and phone calls to communicate. I like to use email since it gives both parties a paper trail so there are no he said she said issues. I am very particular when it comes to someone doing work in my home so I expressed my concerns, reviewed the process they use and had a very good back and forth communication that answered all of my questions. Mike knew exactly what I was looking for. We set a date for the install which was just a couple of days away from the day I said ok let's do it. Mike and Jacob arrived on schedule and utilized a text/app that actually allowed me to track his location from when he left his office to driving up my driveway. Mike and Jacob used covers over their shoes and placed covering over the floor to protect the carpet. They stuffed towels in the area behind the wall to prevent water from getting on the sheetrock and insulation. A new 14 inch opening was installed so I could easily access the new additions easily. They installed a new a very high quality pressure relief valve, the Moen shutoff and 2 new ball valve shutoffs. The pipes were then insulated. Mike reviewed the Moen app and helped me set everything up. The experience was excellent. Mike and Jacob are very honest and professional; they are the best anyone can ask for.
