Sarah T.Premium Home Services is the best and most responsive HVAC company that I have dealt with living in NoVa. My boyfriend replaced his aging, 30 year old HVAC system this past summer. What he didn't realize when purchasing this home the year before was that it would so incredibly hot on the third floor that it was registering 90°, and yet the temperature on the bottom two floors or 20° lower than that.
PHS came out the day after we decided what we wanted and much to our surprise, replaced both the heating and cooling units in just a few hours. We selected a package that included installing a solar attic fan and cleanup of our air vents throughout the home. I have no words to express how disgusting it was before they did this. I don't think the previous owner ever cleaned them.
Yesterday I had the technician come out to replace the air filter and to check everything out. He was so thorough and knowledgeable, going above and beyond to make sure that he took care of everything -- to include updating software on the furnace and air conditioner. Who knew? They are definitely a solid choice for us.
I am writing with concern and frustration. Before purchasing a Generac from Premium Home Service.....
I would handle a power outage with a gasoline generator. Twice my power went out in the middle of the night. Twice my basement flooded. I have two sum pumps in my basement which controls my basement from flooding.
When purchasing a Generac from Premium, the salesman informed me that if the light on the Generac was any color but green, call them. They would come out the same day or the next day. One day the Generac kicked on for a few hours. The breaker box in the basement was making a buzzing noise. I called them on a Friday. They sent someone out on the following Monday. The repairman said it was nothing to worry about. It would have been nice to be informed that this was not to be concerned about.
One year later the light on the Generac started turning yellow. I called their office. I informed the secretary, and she assured me someone would be out next week. After telling her again that the light was yellow, she said, ""Well, you want someone to come out now."" They made an appointment to come the following day but they did not show up. I call their office again. Again, they said they would send someone out the next day...the light was indicating it was time for the one-year maintenance.
Our electric went out on Thursday, Dec 15 around 8 p.m. Around 12 midnight, the Generac stopped running. I checked the Generac and a reddish/yellow light was on. Prior to this the sum pumps were running in the basement. I phoned the office and they informed me someone would call me back. To this day, Sunday, Dec. 18, NO ONE has called me back.
I wonder if I should had saved the $22,000 on the Generac and the money for the extra five-year warranty and kept plugging in my own gasoline generator. Salesmen tell you one thing but after they get your money, it's a different story.
I was thinking I was buying a peace of mind but now it's still a worry that if the electric goes out, will the Generac keep running, making the sum pumps run, and not have a flooded basement??

Have received great service from this company. Always responds promptly. Issued fixed quickly. Employees-both office and techs are great to work with. Connor came out today and did excellent service, very professional.
Julia M.This is a scam company. We called what we thought was a local electrician ""Maddox Electrical"" for emergency service. The person I spoke with, ""Pauline"" said she could have someone come out this morning and said we could either pay $99 for the visit or do their ""service package"" for $250 which would waive the $99 fee, give us a $50 coupon and a 10% discount on all future services. When I gave her my credit card information, she said we'd get a link to an app where we could manage our appointment. Then she called back saying our credit card had not gone through. She read it back and had changed one digit. She then pretended to put it through and said there was an alert saying transaction not permitted. This should have been my clue that this was a scam, but we were desperate and I gave her my debit card info instead. That charge went through and she said we would get a call from the tech. Then when I looked at the app reviews, someone else said it was a scam. We called back to cancel as we no one had come to perform the service, and they would not allow us to do that. The listing in Yelp has now disappeared. The app now says that our job was completed which it obviously wasn't.
Phillip R.Worst hvac company in the dmv area. They send out the brochure claiming they will come do an ac tune up. Pick your system and house apart to try to find more work and make more money the entire time. The technician was not even knowledgeable and tried to claim I had an r22 leak and my system needed to be changed. The idiot didn't even look at the name plate and realize my hvac system is 410a. This company is a huge rip off don't waste your time or buy into their bs advertisements they leave in your male box!
I paid for an ""A/C System Tune-Up"" and what I received was only a sales pitch. For a ""tune up"", I would have expected the technician to check and clean the inside and outside heat exchanger coils, check the freon level, etc. but the tech didn't do anything except find problems to the tune of $15K. This is on a system that is 5 years old.
Carolyn R.Needed small bathroom vanity Installed. The job is so straightforward I could probably do it. They wanted $1,100. If you are elderly and have gray hair, Watch out!
Beware! I paid for the $49 furnace inspection. The representative said that the exhaust gas was dangerous, that the heat exchanger had problems. He said that he was obliged to shut off the furnace but that I could turn it on after he left. He offered repair estimates in the thousands with a long wait for parts. Then he offered his best deal for a replacement, an Amana with 92% efficiency for $6500. This offer was good only that day and only available because he had consulted with his supervisor. None of these estimates were in writing.
I talked with my son who thought that I should leave my furnace off for the night. I did not as he had just installed combination carbon monoxide (CO) detectors in the house. He offered to be present for the next inspection. I memorized the guidelines he sent and arranged for a second independent inspection. Result! Furnace operating correctly with undetectable levels of carbon monoxide.
This business is a complete JOKE! DO NOT USE!! (I would 0 stars if possible) I needed a simple door install at my rental property. They scheduled to be over between 3-6. My tenants stayed home & my husband went to meet them there with the new door/door frame. 6, nothing, 6:15, nothing, 6:45 nothing. My husband calls & they say he is 15 minutes out, 30 minutes later NOTHING!!! Another call placed, someone new. Saying he is on his way but knew nothing about this job. WHAT!? Are you kidding me. We cancel & reschedule for the next day between 8:30-9:00 am. My tenants arrange their schedule to be home. Guess what??? 9:30 NOTHING!!! No one shows up. My husband calls ""I am 5 minutes out"" he sends my husband a map of where he is at. He is at least 30 minutes out. Needless to say - we cancel again!! I have NEVER dealt with a more useless company. Then they were going to charge us $500 to install a new door. So we cancelled everything including the membership. PLEASE move past this company. The customer service is a joke. The technicians are a joke & the prices are outrageous!!!
Premium Home Services is named exactly right. From the time they answer the phone or email to the point they are walking out of your home. The office staff as well as the in-field team, are true professionals and just amazing! Not only is there workmanship quality, but working with them throughout the company is actually enjoyable. They are on time, every time. The take the time to make sure you fully understand what and why. In addition to listed services they have provided for me, the also installed a generator in my home. Significant investment that they walked me completely through the process and educated me along the way. In this day and age, it is rare to find an organization like this that make you feel confident, even excited about the work they have done or do for you. Again, this is a PREMIUM organization. Highly recommend. Stellar work and team!
