Several incidents that happened, and I'll leave out the specifics because, quite frankly, this is a detailed account.

The repair work didn't hold and the company were not willing to guarantee their repairs unless I pay another cost. The technicians didn't carry out a thorough assessment at the location and document current concerns as requested.

The quality of their work was not just subpar overall, but their client relations was even worse. When I spoke with the Manager, he said, “I could walk into any job site and find multiple concerns, but if I acknowledged all of those issues, it is not good for the company.”

That tells me that this service doesn't do a thorough job, and does not aim to do it the properly to increase their clientele.

What I actually prefer about Preferred Plumbing & Heating that stands out is to steer clear of them.

Unsatisfactory repairs and service quality. A single star on a decent day.

Kudos to Preferred Plumbing & Heating!

During sub-zero temperatures, our boiler failed on a Friday evening. We were out of state and an elderly lady was watching our house.

Ryan came over and put in a lot of effort until 11:30 pm to restore our heating. A short time later, that same elderly lady had trouble with the thermostats, and Preferred quickly sent someone over to provide support.

We have used their services in the past for routine boiler checks and pipe problems in winter, and we were happy with the assistance we received. Following this incident, I am more satisfied.

I was disappointed with Preferred Plumbing & Heating because they won't complete a job if you don't use a credit card. I inquired about the reason, the lady simply replied, with a quick “bye”.

Identifying a good plumber can be difficult at times. Over the past few years, I sought advice from friends and home improvement contractors regarding a reputable plumbing service. Preferred Plumbing & Heating was frequently among the most recommended options.

Recently, I decided to put in a water softener. I selected the Culligan brand; the community Culligan shop is a division of this plumbing service. I am happy to assess the services of the technician Robert, for Culligan, and the technician Caleb, for the company, as outstanding.

These two provided superb installation and plumbing services. They are friendly and enjoyable to watch as they execute their individual tasks. The representative Joan, in the Billing section, responded to all of my questions and provided superb customer service with my payments; she also arranged Caleb to conduct the annual servicing of my heating system and heating unit.

Absolutely, these professionals and this service are as reliable as they come!

My experience with Preferred Plumbing & Heating has prompted me to write this review.

Until now, I have always refrained from posting negative reviews about contractors.

I encounter dozens of contractors every week as part of my profession.

While we were away, our heater stopped working.

I had no issue providing my credit card number over the phone.

We asked for an estimate of the costs involved.

They informed us that the rate was $136 per hour with a one-hour minimum.

We requested a call if the charges exceeded that amount.

Over two months later, we received a bill for more than $700.

I reached out to voice my complaints for several reasons:

1. I create estimates for plumbers nationwide as part of my work.

2. I provided the exact issue and model number to minimize the time spent.

3. They assured me they would call if the costs went over $135, but I was charged six times that without any notification.

The house sitter noted that the technician was on-site for 1 hour and 40 minutes, but we received a bill that was more than double that.

4. It took over two months to receive the bill.

Upon sharing my concerns with the owner, he honestly did not seem to care.

With 16 years of experience as a business owner, I found his attitude disheartening.

John, the owner, stated they would charge whatever they deemed necessary and insisted his staff was not in the wrong.

This has been the worst business experience I have ever encountered.

Do not engage with this company entirely. They asked for a credit card prior to carrying out a cleaning ranging from around $200-$300, then bill me an excessive $1,500 for cleaning the boiler and calibration that failed to address the concern. They then requested another further $450 to re-solve the identical problem.

I decided to let go of them and resolved the adjustment they had made. It was fixed.
