Let me preface this with I have never written a bad review about a contractor. And part of my job I deal with dozens of contractors a week. We were out of town when I heater when out. They asked for a card number over the phone which was no problem. We asked what we were looking at for the cost. They said its 136 an hour with a 1 hour minimum. We ask for a call if it exceeded that. Over 2 months later we get a bill for over 700 bucks. I call and complain as: 1. My job is to write estimates for plumber all over the states. 2. I gave the exact problem and model number on the phone to limit the time(yet they still had to drive back to kenai from soldotna to grab the part and of course charged for that drive time) 3. Promised a call if exceeded 135 bucks and charged 6 times the amount with no call. Our house sitter said from start to finish he was there 1 hour 40 minutes and charged more then double that 4. Took over 2 months to give me a bill. When I explained my issues with the owner, he honestly didn't care. I am a business owner for the last 16 years. The owner (John) basically said you heard on, we will charge you whatever and said his people arent in the wrong. Worst business experience I've ever had.

Hat's off to Preferred Plumbing & Heating! Sub-zero temps and our boiler died on a Friday evening while we where out of state and our home was being watch by an elderly lady. Ryan came over and worked until 11;30 pm to get things running again. A couple days later that same elderly lady had problems adjusting thermostats and Preferred quickly sent someone over to help her. We have used them in the past for boiler maintenance and frozen pipes and were very happy with their service. After this I am even more pleased. Many thanks to Preferred Plumbing & Heating for all your help.

It can be hard, sometimes, to locate a good plumbing service. In the past couple of years, anticipating a future need, I asked friends and home improvement contractors for their recommendations for a good plumbing service; Preferred Plumbing & Heating was always among the top three recommendations. So, recently, I made my decision to have a water softener installed. I chose the Culligan brand; and, the local Culligan shop is a division of Preferred Plumbing and Heating. I'm happy to rate the services of Robert, for Culligan, and Caleb, for Preferred Plumbing & Heating, as Excellent. Both men provided excellent installation, and re-plumbing services. They are nice fellas to talk to, and watch, as they go about their respective work. Joan, in the Accounts section, answered all of my questions and provided excellent customer service with my invoicing; and, the scheduling of Caleb to do the annual servicing of my radiant in-floor heating and boiler system. Yes, these people and this business are as good as it can get!

Avoid this company completely. They required a credit card before doing a $200-$300 cleaning then charged $1,500 for boiler cleaning and adjustment that did not fix the problem. Then wanted another $450 to re-fix the same issue. I fired them and corrected the adjustment they had made. Problem solved.

There were a series of events that occurred and I'll leave out the details because quite frankly its a lengthy explanation. Their repair work didn't hold and they weren't willing to back their work unless I was to pay another cover charge. They didn't do a thorough inspection at the job site and make note of existing problems as requested. Not only was their work poor at best, but their customer service was even worse. When I spoke with the Manager, his answer was this... ""I could walk into any jobsite and find multiple problems, but if I recognized all of those problems it wouldn't be good for business."" That tells me that Preferred Plumbing and Heating doesn't do a thorough job, and wont do it the right way to get more business. The only thing about Preferred Plumbing I actually prefer, is not using them. Poor work and customer service. One star on a good day.
