I have used this company 3 or 4 times in the past couple of years. Most recently, technician #02-Jones reinstalled a water heater that had been installed incompetently by another plumber and so hadn't passed City inspection. After Mr. Jones removed the substandard work of the first plumber and reinstalled the water heater, it passed inspection easily.

The only reason I'm not giving a 5-star (best) rating this time is because my 10:00 a.m. appointment didn't happen until after 2:00 p.m. and I had to call a couple of times to inquire about timing. (I was home that day--Sunday--anyway, and the job was not an immediate emergency, so I was initially a bit annoyed, but not actually inconvenienced.)

I will definitely call this company again if I have a plumbing need.

I had a backed up main sewer line yesterday. They were onsite within about 2 hours of my call. Chris (service guy #17) was professional on the phone just prior to arrival. Showed up as expected 15 minutes after his call. Said the job would take 60-90 minutes which was reasonable. The job actually took 75 minutes which is what he billed. And he ran the snake 3 times and tested it with lots of water too.

And he did not make any mess in the garage where the clean out is.

I love them. I had to call them two times and both times they were able to hep me. They showed up on time both times. I had called two other places ...Roto Rooter said they were booked and couldn't make appointments and didn't offer other times. The other place made the appointment, but couldn't guarantee that they could make it. So I called Preferred Plumbing. I never heard of them before.

So far, terrible. They haven't even been to my house yet. I was told that they would be here between 10am and 11am, with a phone call before they were on their way. At 11am, I called for an update and was put on hold several times with someone finally telling me they would call me right back. Well, almost an hour later I called back and was able to talk to a dispatcher. It was then I was told the new arrival window was between 3pm and 5pm. By this point I'm very upset because our shower hasn't been working in a week. I asked if they could be out sooner and if it was guaranteed that they were actually coming. I was told he would do his best to get someone out here today. If/and when they actually show up a new post may show how their technicians service is. I'm not holding my breath.

Called at 6:00 about a clogged bathtub drain that needed rotorooting and they were there in half an hour and did the job. No problems, no complaints.

My experience was so awful and horrific, that I actually opened this YELP account to document what happened. Last week, I had to book a sewer video three separate times, after multiple issues with late show up, canceled appointments (without notification) etc. Please note, that I took off of work twice to be home for the appointment.

After the sewer video identified the problem, I was clearly told, that PP&D would be able to repair the issue on Monday and that someone would call me Monday morning. No call came Monday, so I had to follow up. I got a lot of double-talk about a permit that needed to be pulled to cover the work. I repeatedly asked if the work would take place on Tuesday, and I was told ""yes, it will happen on Tuesday and someone will call you.""

Tuesday morning came and went, and again, PP&D did not call me. When I called in, and asked why the work wasn't happening, I was told that it was ""due to the rainy day making their work 'unsafe'."" My sewer pipe is less than 20"" from the lawn surface, so the answer is total BS. They didn't schedule or queue their work, and were making up reasons they couldn't work. Again, I had taken time off work to be home when the project would take place.

I found another contractor, and called PP&D back to cancel the job. PP&D kept passing me along to different dispatchers. The process to cancel a job took over 5 minutes. Bottom line, think very carefully about using PP&D. They will not contact you to let you know when schedules change, they will not follow up when issues arise, and they will make up reasons when you call them to confront them about the issue.

We booked appointment for our clogged drains. First day: 2 hours late and no call.( we took a day off from work). Second day: no show and no call (we took another day off from work). Third day: it was raining and the manager said that it's unsafe for the worker to work. Cancelled appointment without calling us. Horrible customer service. No communication. Stay away

My home had a serious leak from a pipe inside the wall, in a spot that was very difficult to reach. Brian (tech #1) responded to my call & arrived earlier than promised. He was polite & efficient and made the repairs (above & beneath the house) in a timely manner and left the area clean when finished. I was impressed by both the professional job & the very reasonable cost. Preferred Plumbing & Drain will be my choice for any future plumbing needs.
