Dispatch was very friendy but whoever I was transferred to that provided the hourly rate was beyond the word RUDE!!!!! He said, I have something to do are we done here? I was like, did he really just say that. I was like, ""no"" please cancel service call. Terrible terrible. Ugh!! By the way, I never write reviews but had to in this instance because I can not believe he said, ""Are we done here? booo to Preferred Plumbing & Drain

Over the weekend, I had a clogged drain so I started calling around to try to find a plumber. The good ones were all booked for days. Others didn't return my calls. One set up an appointment with me but never showed up. I was about to give up (and just take a day off work the next day) when I decided to take a shot with Preferred Plumbing even though the reviews were terrible.

After leaving a message, they called me back after a few minutes and let me know they had a plumber heading out to my area that had to go to a commercial job first, but they would come by in about 1-2 hours. This was fine by me.

Francisco shows up and was able to get the drain cleared out within an hour. He got rid of the backed up sewage out of the tub and also put down plastic so everything was clean.

My only quibble is that I was charged $240 instead of the quoted $180-220 over the phone, but he did let me know before doing any work. It seemed more expensive that it should have been, but actually being available on a weekend (and returning my calls) makes this company A-OK by me.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This Co. is a joke, they tell you someone will call you in 15 minutes, and it never happen, i had to call them at least 3 times, and everytime there was a diffrent excuse. They had me waiting for 2 and half hours, I finally had to call another plumbing co after 8:30pm last night. I do not recommend this company to no one.

Preferred installed a water heater at my residence in July and I am very pleased with their work; i.e. an appointment to review my needs was made promptly, the brand of heater and capacity were recommended and an estimate prepared; the work was scheduled and completed without delay by a journeyman who seemed competent and knowledgeable (he explained what was going on as the project was progressing). And finally, the work was inspected and approved by the City. The price was high-end but I'm pleased with the quality of the work and the professional manner with which it was carried out. I would have given all five stars, but nothing in this world is perfection.

My toilet was filling up with water late night so I contacted preferred plumbing and drain to help me with this situation. They have gotten to my property within an hour and informed me of what needed to be done prior to their service and handled the situation with such professionalism and had great customer service. All in all, I am grateful for the service and expediency that preferred plumbing and drain has given me.

After 3 months, here is my follow-up: The plumbers are decent but the management is terrible. My recurring plumbing problem requires a plumber every 2 months and preferred plumbing keeps dropping the ball. The Manager keeps making excuses and after repeated phone calls, I still can't get them to follow through.

Yay I have a bathroom sink again!!! Many thanks to Preferred Plumbing and Drain for coming to my rescue this Sunday morning. No extra charge for weekends and they give discounts to seniors, county and state workers, military, fire, police and EMT workers.

Had been having this ongoing slow drain issue in the bathroom. I tried liquid drano, and other remedies including taking the pipe off myself, but to no avail the sink drain just would not drain freely. So this morning in the kitchen, I found the kitchen sink trying to back up as well plus my disposal stopped working. Water was backing up and tripped the disposal, but reset does not work and water is still in the disposal, so thinking there is some sort of connection, I called Preferred. Andrew was at my home within 30 minutes,cleared the bathroom sink within 35 minutes. Turns out build up of years of sludge in the pipes. Andrew says never use drano, it's an acid and eats away at your pipes. Don't know how true this is, because drano has been around every since I was a little girl. So now he's headed to the kitchen to see if the problem was connected or I was having an issue there. I'm hoping the two are connected.

Yay good news, two were connected, fixed the disposal and ran the snake a second time just to make sure the line was fully clear. I'm pleased with the service I have received today.

I will definitely recommend Preferred Plumbing and Drain to friends and family.

Lousy! Don't use them - they don't show up on time and don't communicate.

Their ad said they'd be out immediately on evenings and weekends, but when we called we couldn't get an appointment until 10:00 the next morning. They called at 7:30 a.m. to confirm the time, so I thought I was set to go. Didn't show up. Called them at 10:35 and was told they were ""7 minutes away per their GPS"". At 11:00, sill hadn't showed and no phone call about the delay, so I called another plumber (who arrived in 20 minutes! - see review for Able To Plumbing in Livermore!). Called Preferred Plumbing to cancel the appointment, then the plumber showed up at my door and I told him that I had cancelled the appointment and to go on to his next customer. PP called me back twice to say the plumber was there and I told them both times that I had cancelled the appointment and had another plumber on the way. An hour late, no communication, but they sure bug you when they see they're losing your business. Rude and unprofessional. After their second call back to me, the plumber was still in his truck outside my house for another 10 minutes. Felt very uncomfortable. Don't call this company. It will only add to the stress you already have from dealing with your plumbing headache.

Unfortunately I was at home on a weekend when my plumbing emergency occurred. Not having a computer; I was at the mercy of the yellow pages that morning.
1) They said they'd be out in 2 hrs, it took 6 hrs and after having to make a call wondering where they were.
2) The young plumber who eventually came out; because the one assigned couldn't make it; however no one bothered to call me to tell me this. After a brief time there and checking the water flow; which was still slow, he tells me it will be a total of $450 to have all the drains taken care of. When I stated I couldn't afford it he wanted to make a deal, which I wasn't comfortable with then said he could work it out at another time, but that it wouldn't be under the 30-day guarantee as he was doing it on his own time.
3) When its time to leave close to 8 hours later (which I just wanted him out) he says he doesn't have an invoice and he has to go home to get it; an hour or so later, I was billed.
4) I thought he was gone, but he knocks on the door and wants to show me something; its pitch dark by now. He shows me the snake he JUST pulled out to show me the roots that were on it; he wanted to throw them in my trash, but then thought why hadn't you checked the snake before this!!! OMG what a disastrous day. I eventually had to call on another company to finish the task at a more reasonable $85 total who were far more professional. Yes, I used YELP to find this one...
Needless to say... BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS ""PLUMBER"" AND I USE THE TERM LOOSELY...I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

I always prefer to call private businesses rather than businesses that contract since the contractors usually have no idea what you need done and they have to call the boss for every little question thats asked because they don't know the answer themselves. However, he got the job done quickly and the same day I called so I can't complain too much. Average plumbing company, I would probably use them again.
