Came in to replace a sink and was quoted $200. They broke some of the tile as they were removing the sink. They then wanted $50 more to replace the tile and for materials. He told me he had the tools were in the truck to replace the tile and that he would go to home depot to get the tile. After it was all said and done they tried to charge me $384 for the job. $84.99 for materials to replace 2 5x5 pieces of tile. Not to be trusted.

Set an appointment for a free estimate. The guy showed up and took one look at our shower and told us it would be $145 and $135 for every hour after that. We asked him if he had the parts to finish the job and he said yes. 15 minutes later he pulls the part out of the wall and tells us he does NOT have the part that is needed to do the job and if he was going to go get the part he would charge us for the drive time (to fresno and back 45 mins each way). As it had been only 15 minutes we asked him what we would be charged if we stopped the job right now and were told we would have to pay the full $145. So we had to pay him and he left us with an even worse problem in our shower. Horrible experience.

Great service, great price and great teamwork. Daniel and Ronnie from the Milpitas office were very professional and courteous. I was impressed with their team work and will be storing this business contact in my address book for future use!

My home warranty company chose these flakes for me after my hot water heater went out.

Day one, they made an appointment for 7PM, but never showed up. I called back and was told the tech wasn't answering his phone, so they didn't know what to tell me. I made a new appointment for 10 am the following morning.

Day two, no show for 10 am appointment. They called back and said to give them an hour hand a half. Finally at about 4 PM they showed up, confirmed the obvious that I needed a new hot water heater, and made a new appointment for 9am the next morning.

Day three, no show at 9AM. After 11, I called and was told he should be here any minute. a few minutes later, they call back and say its more like an hour and a half.

I have no idea what kind of plumbing work they do, since its a nightmare just to get them to show up.

I'm having a leaky faucet shower checked out, found out that the builder of the house used valves or something that cannot be replaced but cut through the walls and cut the pipes. original quoted price is $1200 dollars after already paid $500 dollars for new toilet and installation on 7/19/14. I talked to Bryan (manager) and was able to reduce the cost to $900 including permit. Thomas came in yesterday tried to fix the leak without success, but Today he is here with Matthew (more experienced plumber), after checking out the leak, that's what he found out. the valve is not replaceable, need to cut the copper pipes and re-install a new valve system that will be more beneficial and easier to replace if leak happens again in the future. All in all, I am pleased that Matthew found the problem, it is drought season, and I would not want a leaky faucet or pipe that will add more problem to the drought. I would recommend Preferred Plumbing to people out there that needs plumbing done right.

If I could give them a half a star I would. First of all very unprofessional attire. A guy in a t shirt and jeans shows up. He has No ID or shirt to identify himself. Good thing the office called us to confirm. First the tech was nice, but then he locked his keys in his car. He had to go to Home Depot to get the one part he needed because the store he needed to get the parts from was closed. He was gone for over an hour. Then he gets back works for 10 minutes and wants to charge us for an extra 30 minutes. When he was all done I was charged for the parts and all he did was reuse what I already had under my sink. Only thing that was changed was a seal and two small pieces of pipes. Took way too long.

To start this review, I would suggest anyone who hears about Preferred Plumbing run for the hills, they are definitely out to charge you as much as they can.

We had a massive tree root bust our sewer pipe underneath the cement foundation in our house, and Preferred Plumbing wanted to charge almost $4,000 to jackhammer through floors in two separate rooms because they said the problem was between the rooms. In response to my surprise at how much this would cost, the plumber ""Joe"" told me, and I quote, ""Plumbing ain't cheap, Bro."" I was so furious at this point and never called this horrible company back.

If you are looking for a proper plumber who can be trusted, AVOID Preferred Plumbing at all costs, they are only trying to rip you off, and on top of this their prices are high.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We ended up calling Effective Plumbing and Drain and got the cement removed, the thick tree roots taken out and the pipe replaced for under $800, and they even refilled the hole with the dirt and cleaned up afterwards. Call Effective Plumbing if you are in the area and you will not be disappointed. I will only use Effective Plumbing from now on, the owner Josh is a very respectful and trustworthy individual.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To sum up: AVOID Preferred Plumbing at all costs, and call Effective Plumbing instead.

I have been using Preferred Plumbing and Drain for many years. They have always been there in a timely manner and have always completed any of my plumbing issues quickly and efficiently. Because of the size of the building I manage, I have had many plumbing issues that may happen any time of the day or night. Even when called at late hours, the plumbers always show up on the time they have indicated to me that they are going to arrive, and have gone out of their way to take care of the problem in an efficient and timely manner. They always go above and beyond and they are respectful and courteous to the tenants in my building. They always clean up any mess that is made from any plumbing leaks and are efficient in explaining exactly what they are doing and how they are doing it. I high recommend Preferred Plumbing and Drain.

AFTER the representative had me sign a contract for $139 for the first hour, he said I'd have to pay an additional $50 if the blockage was more than 75' from the clean-out.

I gave him a lecture on the meaning of a signed contract--and sent him away.

These guys are a rip off. Their work failed immediately and then they claimed the drain plugged from unnatural causes and voided the 30 day warrantee. They want $370 to clean the drain. They tried to chrge $1200 for a new cleanout and $400 to run a camera down the drain. They charge for two men -- one to remove the toilet and the other to run the snake. They are just stealing money
