Shayne And Sheona M.We had some condensation on our AC unit in the attic so I had made an appt with preferred. Derek Lemon was our technician and he looked at the unit and said the seal was loose which it was a little bit. But then he said our refrigerant was """"extremely low"""" and the coil was frozen and reading 32 degrees. He quoted us $2800 or $2400 if we subscribed to some maintenance plan all on top of the $80 we paid for the service call. He also did a quote for $1517 to replace a freaking drain pan that he told my wife was """"rusty"""" which it was not. It just had a little rusty water in it. I called another company for a second opinion. This tech said our refrigerant R410 was within parameters but he topped it off. He said the coils were not frozen in fact they were at 40 degrees and looked fine. He did a slight adjustment to a floating baffle and sealed up the unit better. Final cost $140. This guy from preferred tried to take advantage of my wife since I was at work. Do not recommend.
Benson F.This business is incredible. Called for service due to our HVAC not working at all. It was late afternoon and a Technician was at our door within the hour. The Technician was great and the problem was resolved in less than an hour. A bit pricey. But the quality of this service was worth it.
Sam D.Recently our ac was doing the opposite of what most people endure during the summer months. We have our thermostat set to 74 but our system would continue to cool past this point especially at night time so around 1 am we would be freezing. So our system is a dual zone system where the room over the garage is cooled with a separate thermostat and damper. So the technician was able to diagnose in a short time that the down stairs damper was stuck open while the hot room over the garage continued to demand ac. Because the upstairs struggled to cool down the ac system had to keep running and because the downstairs damper was stuck open we got the winter wonderland effect at night. He gave us a few options ranging from 1800 to 6000 with a final solution to simply stop using the thermostat upstairs and turn it off and get a good portable unit that plugs into the wall and vents out the window. Which can be bought from Lowe's for about 500. Bonus is not we have a portable ac system that we can even take with us camping if we desire. Our tech did great listening to our problem unlike a competitor that visited a week earlier that continued to troubleshoot our system as if it were NOT cooling the house which was opposite to our problem which resulted in him reprogramming our thermostat and bleeding off precious refrigerant from our unit. Word to the wise. Look for the people with good reviews!! That is a clue
Disappointing. They will not provide a quote for a repair unless you pay them $79 first... Who does that? I can get quotes from lots of reputable companies and then choose the one with the best / most friendly technician and the best prices.

Kilani S.My fiancé and I recently purchased a brand new Lennox system from Preferred. This team was professional yet very friendly. Our salesman, Moe, was knowledgeable and gave us many options that would be a good fit for us. He was able to get us approved on spot for financing and had them here for install within just a few days! Joe 's entire team from the crew lead to helpers were courteous and skilledThey were able to work through many unforeseen challenges with our old home to install the system efficiently. They made sure everything was done just the way we wanted it. They showed up for scheduled times and we really couldn't be more impressed. We would recommend Preferred to anyone. Update. Apparently preferred is only great when you are spending 10k+. We bought a new house and purchased their service plan on the units that were here. They came to install a new thermostat and charged over 300 bucks to install a unit we could have got at Lowe's for $40. Now the AC is not cooling and they will send some one out for $75 bucks or I can wait until the end of June to schedule a tune up. Once they have your money they can care less about you.

I had a water heater stop working and called Preferred because of their high ratings. A technician arrived and diagnosed the problem as a bad thermostat and element. This is a small water heater with only a single element and thermostat. He provided an estimate to do the repair of over $900! I said no thanks and did the repair myself. It was a 2 hour job and $25 in parts. I called the office 3 times to speak to a manger about this price gouging, but was never able to speak to one. Each time the secretary told me she sent an email to the manager and I should expect a call back, but no one bothered calling me back. Pretty disappointing.
Julie M.Would like to like this company, they were prompt and professional when booking my appointment. Unfortunately the person who came for the appointment was unprofessional. It was a Friday and he just came from another job right before he came to us. But when he looked at our plumbing problem he was sighing and had a terrible attitude. When asked questions he seemed irritated and didn't want to be working at all.
Lonnie E.Called this company because they had good reviews. Decided to book plumbing service (had a leaking outdoor faucet) for a rental property I own as well as HVAC service. At the same time, booked HVAC service for my own home. Day of appointment for my rental property, the company cancelled and rescheduled last minute. I wasn't happy, but the company assured me it wasn't how they do business and it was due to an emergency. The apologized. Next up, my appointment for my HVAC at my personal home, time frame to show up was 8-12. At 10:55 am they leave me a message saying they need to cancel. I don't know about you, but if you're taking time off work to meet service people at your house and have two appointments cancelled in the same week....that earns you one star for customer service. I hope you all have better luck with this company. Once is an understandable issue. Twice in one week is a pattern! Again, totally get stuff comes up with emergencies. Cancelling twice in one week....a pattern and not acceptable.
