M H.Ultimate RIP OFF!!!!
These guys ripped us off twice (ugh shame on us for not figuring it out sooner).
First time - we were only in our first home ever for one month and our sump pump failed in the middle of the night and the back-up did not kick in. Our basement was going to flood, luckily, we made it work until precision could come. We came by them because I was just calling random companies at 3 am to try to get someone to come out. Precision did pick up and did make it to our house by 7 am. That's where the good ends....We had no idea as first time home owners how much things should cost and we were in a pickle as the rain came down and our sump pump was not work. Well, they TOOK ADVANTAGE of that and way way way way OVER CHARGED us, like crazy style. We chalked it up to a learning experience.
Next time - wanted our whole house humidifier hooked up. Long story short, again, we got ripped off but didn't really know it. Sucks being a first time home buyer. We basically didn't discover all the rip-offs until the third time.
Third time - (we had signed up for their value customer program which means they come service the AC and furnace). They came out to service the AC and told us it was shot - dunzo, we need a new one and our furnace too. Next weekend, another guy came out and gave us a quote. $14,000 for not even the most energy efficient combo. We didn't need the AC or the furnace right away (it was May) so we decide to shop around and that's when discovered how outrageous these people are. We got several other quotes from other companies, all for the most energy efficient with no destruction to our basement ceiling (they told us they would have to rip it apart to vent the new equipment). All the other companies were willing to work with us too on price. So we are loyal (sometimes to a fault) and went back to precision and were like hey all these others companies offer xy&z for the lowest $9,100 (YEA) for the most energy efficient units. THEY WOULD NOT BUDGE FOR US! So we were done - went with an amazing company ACCUMAX! They were great - check them out!!!
BOTTOM LINE: BIGGEST SCAM OF A COMPANY EVER - THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND ROB YOU BLIND!
Very disappoint...
Let me say Dan M was friendly and knowledgeable. I called Precision because I have water coming up in my living room floor. I had a few individuals come out to view the area and provide me a quote. I need leak detection before I start this heavy duty job.
When I made the appointment with the dispatcher I explained this. In fact I told Bobbie I didn't need anyone coming out saying the same thing.
To make this short and sweet. I was charged $149.00 only for Dan M to come out and inspect. Dan M stated that the notes were not clear, he even let me look at his phone with the dispatcher's comments. Which was not completely true or clear.
Dan M told me the Leak detection would cost $1,400.00. Why wouldn't the dispatcher be educated on that knowledge?
Anyway I am out of a $149.00. With the company saying they will not refund me. However if I took there service they could waive that fee.
Funny thing, I was going to ask for financing to fix this major issue with this company. I read so many good comments on this company.
Anyway, save your time find a company that truly care.
I found my toilet started leaking slowly on floor at 1:30pm, I called Precision Pluming at 2:30pm, I was told the dispatch fee was $49, and would be advice the cost at site. The plumber showed up at 3:10pm, 10 minutes later he gave me quote for $510. I signed the job. he pulled toilet, found the original toilet install sealing was not big enough, fixed it, reset the toilet, and finished at 4:30pm.
The service was prompt, but I was not sure about the total costs $510 for one person, one hour and 20 minutes, and sealing materials, I called the company next day, the Manager told me the charges are correct.
Mike S.Is it possible to give zero stars? They came out to my mom's house - a home my folks have owned for 44 years - for a sewer blockage. Don and Mike come out for their ""$99 special"" and stuck a camera in the sewer line. They show all kinds of pictures and then proceed to say that they can't rod the blockage away and that they will need to dig up the front yard and replace the cleanout at a cost of $4,500.00. WTH??!! You can't even TRY rod the sewer line? Oh, and the kicker. By a miracle, their crew can do it tomorrow. You have to be joking. When you sit there in shock, the hard sell comes. You know what I mean. Lucky for me I had the brains to get these guys out the door. I did a little research and called Fred's Plumbing. He came out and rodded the sewer line and his charge....$275.
To add insult to injury, I called Precision Plumbing back and wanted to talk to either of the two guys who came out (Don or Mike) - neither were available. I asked for their manager - John - and he wasn't available. Not even a courtesy phone call back.
Keep the $99. Running a business like that, you're going to need it.
Great service from coordinating where to park to explaining why things needed to be done and where I could save vs. what really needed to be done. Very professional, courteous, and thorough. I would recommend to anyone.
Laurie V.Precision Plumbing came out to my house to give us a quote on fixing our shower knobs, unclogging a slow drain in our bathroom sink and to install a new kitchen faucet. The man who came out barely looked at our shower but kept saying that the wall may have to be removed in order to complete the work. He looked at the bathroom sink pipes and stated that they were so old he was afraid to touch them because they may crumble. He spent 10 minutes scaring me with all the things that could go wrong once he began the work and said it would take a full day to complete. He gave us 6 different quote scenarios, ranging in price from $1200-$2600. The lower the price, the less work and warranties were given. After hearing the price and not trusting the technician, I called a different company. I did pay the man his $49 estimate charge. The new company came out, assessed the work, gave us a quote of $500 and completed the work within 2 hours. The new company did not install the kitchen faucet and will be coming back to finish that part.
I have no problem paying an estimate fee, if the estimate is within range of the other estimates. This man/company was obviously trying to rob us and scare us into a lot more work than needed to be done.
I will NEVER use this company again and I will NEVER recommend this company!
I should have listened to the reviews this company was given a few years ago. Run far away from this scamming company!
Don't waste your time or money having these guys come out to do your fix. I had a leaking toilet and the service man tried to explain how all the possible repairs that may be needed would cost more than just installing a new toilet. He then quoted a new toilet and valve at over $900. I promptly said thanks but no thanks and found a much much cheaper quote. These guys are ridiculously over priced.
I spoke to the owner Matt Morse to discuss what I think was an inappropriate charge for a job his plumber could not fix. I am currently waiting a week to hear back from him.
If Matt makes good on this issue I will write another review.
Be careful before calling Precision. I called due to my furnace ignitor being inoperable and Mark the technician decided to take full advantage of the situation. Knowing that it is below freezing he decides to charge $400 even though he said $300 at first for a simple ignitor exchange. Part costs $23.99 and took less than 30 minutes to install. Needless to say $400 is a but much for a half hour job, would you agree? He says to me why don't you do it? Super rude and unprofessional. I will never do business with such shady people again, and I advise calling a more ethical company for your heating and plumbing needs.
This review is based on my most recent experience with this company. Let's be clear- my most RECENT experience, and does not reflect my previous experiences with them which have already been reviewed via the company's reviewbuzz site.
Based on 2 previous good experiences with Precision, #1- our hot water heater broke on 12/24 (xmas eve)- and the company was the only one that would send an emergency tech out to replace it $1800 later, and #2- we purchased our new $6000 furnace from them without any issue. The next experience, being the most recent and the most disappointing- is the most unfortunate and reason for this review. If I could review with 0 stars, I would.
Here goes:
1. Based on previous good experiences, I contacted Precision and spoke to Lisa in customer service- and scheduled an estimate for a new water softening system. My appointment was scheduled for Monday, 1/6 at 8am. Low and behold, we had sub-zero temps, I received a phonecall from Lisa the morning of the appointment, and was told that THEY needed to cancel the appointment due to the weather, and PRECISION ASKED ME to reschedule. At the time, I didn't see an issue with this. I asked Lisa- since they were the ones cancelling on me, could I be guaranteed my next appointment time- which we then set up for Saturday morning, 1/11, at 8am. I selected this time because it was one of the rare occasions that my husband would be home from work on a Saturday morning, and was PROMISED by Lisa, that the tech would be AT MY HOUSE at 8am on Saturday, 1/11.
2. Fast forward to the morning of Saturday, 1/11. 8am comes around, and still no tech. Finally, at 8:20am, I received a phonecall from Cathy in customer service- telling me that they wouldn't have a tech available for my appointment until later in the afternoon and that they would need to call me later in the day once they had an idea as to what time they could come to my house. I told Cathy, that when I made the rescheduled appointment that PRECISION cancelled on me from 1/6, that Lisa GUARANTEED me that for my 1/11 appointment the tech would be here at 8am. She said unfortunately they wouldn't have anyone available and they could keep me on the list for a later time if I wanted- which I told them had I known that they would cancel on me for a SECOND time, I would've sought service and the estimate from another company instead of wasting a week waiting for them to never show up. It was at this time, that Cathy told me, they could either keep me on the schedule for a later appointment on 1/11, OR- if I wanted to seek service elsewhere, then by all means go ahead. Seriously? What kind of company tries to tell their customers to go somewhere else? If at all costs, shouldn't you find value in retaining customers and following through on your promises to your customers? Apparently not. 3 hours later, after the initial contact with Cathy on 1/11, I received a second follow up call from her, telling me that unfortunately, they wouldn't be able to send anyone out to my house AT ALL this day. Mind you, they already cancelled my initial 1/6 appointment on me, promised me an appointment at 8am on 1/11 which they are now calling to cancel on me YET AGAIN. She asked me if there was another day/time that would work for me, and I told her I was fed up and I don't think I will be needing their services anymore after this horrible experience. At which point, I hung up on her.
3. After talking about this with my husband and venting my frustration, I called Precision back, and low and behold, it was Cathy on the phone again. I asked her if I could be put in touch with either the manager in charge, or even better- the owner- Matt Morse- president/owner. First, she told me that there wasn't a manager available and asked if she could help me with something. I told her this isn't an issue she would be of any help with, and that I didn't want to speak with anyone other than the manager or owner. Cathy said the manager and owner wouldn't be in the office until Monday. I said, then I will contact him on Monday. At which point, she put me on hold, came back and told me that the manager and owner might be on vacation next week. So I said, ""first you tell me they will be there on Monday. Now all of a sudden they are on vacation?"" You've got to be kidding me.
You would think that a company would value their customers, and follow through and deliver on promises made, however I can now see that this company only comes through for you when it's a ""guarantee"" that you will be spending your money with them. Given that my appointment on 1/11 was only for an ""estimate""- which would have likely turned into a $6000 purchase of a new softening system, I am led to believe that this was the reason why we were demoted to the bottom of the list as far as priorities for them go. Needless to say, we are done with this company.
