I was lucky to be referred to Precision Locating by a couple of plumbers when my front yard main water line developed a link that showed no evidence on the surface. I was dumping 350 gallons of water underground per day so, yeah, I was stressed out worried that they might not be able to find it. This company is in high demand (because they're exceptional) and they were able to book me the next week and a gentleman who I only know as ""Doug"" arrived on the scheduled day and time to service me. A very personable & professional guy and immediately you could tell that he had been around the block many times performing leak detections. He assured me right away that he WOULD find the leak and that it wouldn't take that long. Their hourly rates are fairly high but I didn't mind as long as the leak was found. By the time he performed his preliminary systems check out (maybe 20 minutes), I don't think it took him even 10 minutes after that. My 1"" pex line did not have a tracer so he had to use CO2 gas. When he discovered the location I breathed a sigh of relief. Thanks Doug and Precision Locating. You are very highly recommended.

We have used Precision Locating three times over the last several years. Each time they found the leak in a reasonable amount of time, wrote accurate reports, and were very responsive. The first two leaks were in the slab under the house; ten years separated the occurrences.
The third leak was in the water meter box at the street. Precision found the leak on the City's side and wrote a complete report with photos. We relayed the information to the City and within a few days the City came out and fixed the leak.
We were grateful that Precision was so accurate and complete which gave the City all they needed for the repair.

Precision Locating was able to come out same day I called- fantastic

In less than an hour they mapped out the piping under the slab from end to end in our home
And by exposing the manifold in the wall ( requiring a later drywall patch) determined which of the pipes had a leak and where it ran

Pipe detection was done with an electronic detector, and the leak located by introducing pressurized air into the system- also by using hot and cold temperture differentials

In less than an hour the job was done and I had a report for the plumber.

They responded few days later and refund 225. But because their mistake, I spent 600 more to pay another company to identify leak and dig another hole.
When I asked them why the real leak is 2.5 feet from where they located. They finally told me that they can not identity plastic pipe. So why can they just told me so to begin with?

I would recommend this company. Doug came out to perform leak detection after my water bill went up 200% in a month. After performing all the test on the water lines, the problem was a very easy small fix. Best money spent to have piece of mind that there was nothing major going on.

I VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOUG!!! He came out to my home with acoustic and thermal slab leak detection equipment in order to locate a slab leak, the reason I wasn't having hot water. I noticed right away he was delightfully bright, friendly, and professional. He also really cared about what he was doing, and put all his effort and focus into his work, all the while taking care to communicate with me. He loves people, and loves his work! I would trust him with any problem. He finally found an impossibly unusual situation, where an underground explosion had occured, and the hot water line was dumping directly into the waste water line! It would have taken any other technician a lot of experimental excavation to find that, but Doug was so intelligent, analytical and intuitive, that he figured it out located in very little time! I had two other companies come out prior to Precision Locating, and their techs had no clue. One wanted to start chopping walls and floors almost everywhere. I am so grateful and was so fortunate to have found Doug!

WOW! These guys are SERIOUS about helping people get their problems solved. I do almost ALL of my own home repairs - plumbing, electrical, whatever. But I had a water leak that I could not locate. I called Precision and their mgr had his field locating tech call me within 8 minutes. After talking with me for about 5 mins, Doug gave me several suggestions to try and advised to call for a ""leak locate"" appt if I still couldn't find the leak. Well, one of his ideas was exactly where the problem was - an old gate shutoff valve for our pool leveler wasn't completely sealing when closed. Problem solved (after I replaced the valve). It's very hard to find a business that will quite literally help you to their best ability even BEFORE you are actually enlisting their services! These guys come highly rated and I fully agree. Incredible integrity and caring folks! Thank you guys!

Our monthly water bill was sky rocket last month. It turned out that we had a big leak after the city's technician confirmed that there was nothing wrong with our water meter and that their reading was correct. We walked around our perimeter but was not able to see any potential leak. We called Precision Locating and was so grateful to have Doug Bacon helped us troubleshoot the hidden leak. Doug was able to pin point the approximate leak area by utilizing his advance and sophisticated leak detection gadgets. Our leak was under our concrete driveway which explained why it was not visible to us. To make a long story short, Doug recommended a couple of plumbers to us and we chose Moon Valley Plumbing and Rooter because they were able to come out the next morning.

Doug at Precision Locating deserves 5 stars because he went above and beyond his duties to genuinely help us fix our problem. He came back out the next day to work closely with Cole from Moon Valley Pluming to identify the precise location of the leak so that Cole will know exactly which direction to dig. Keep in mind that Doug did not have to come back out but he did so willingly and did not charge us. What was amazing is that Doug and Cole (2 individuals from 2 different companies) collaborated closely to identify and fix the issue. Great teamwork from Doug and Cole.

BTW, we did contact other companies for leak detection and repair. Let's just say there are many companies out there that are slow at responding and they charge an arm and a leg especially if you live in a nice area. I can't list the names of those unethical companies since Yelp will likely take down my posting if those companies were to complain...hahaha. Do your homework but I do highly recommend Precision Locating (Doug Bacon) for any type of leak detections and Moon Valley Plumbing and Rooter (Cole) for leaks repair.

Had some pros and cons with this one. The tech who showed up was on time, friendly and worked quickly to try to find the problem. He did keep it under an hour and from what I could see tried everything he could think of to find the water leak I have been dealing with. However, I was charged $255 + $35 for driving on down to Queen Creek and he ended up not finding the leak. He gave some suggestions but was never able to duplicate/recreate the leak. Seems like a lot of money spent to not get what I was paying for.
