After having a terrible experience with another company in town, Precision Heating & Air came through!

Had another company "complete" an HVAC inspection. Although I received permission from the homeowner to complete the inspection (I was interested in purchasing), they took my money, but didn't provide the report. Precision came through after I decided to end my relationship with the other company. Their technician was clean and professional. The invoice I received was clean and thorough. It included the information about their company, the HVAC licence number, and a FULL recommendation for repairs.

Junior was amazing and showed up within hours when my AC when out and quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem. My house is cool again :)

The whole team has been very professional and transparent, finding other areas that I need to be aware of going forward!

How does this place have good reviews? I had them come out to look at my A/C because the unit was shutting off before it reached the target temperature. The technician did about 5 minutes worth of work, tops, and charged me over $400 for the work. Was he performing life-saving surgery? No! He just blew out the A/C condensate drain line with compressed air.

What an absolute rip off! I will not ever be using this company again for anything, and will be sure not to recommend them to anybody I know. They should be ashamed for taking advantage of people.

*Edit - After seeing my review, they worked with me a little on the price, so I'm bumping it up to 2 stars.

We hired Precision Heating & Air in July 2018. They quite literally might have saved my family and me. After hellish experiences with Preferred AC (as provided by our garbage home warranty company), we learned that our whole HVAC system was not up to code. The only reason why our house didn't explode when we turned on the heat is because it was summer.

Our project manager, Sam, was knowledgeable, empathetic, and very easy to work with. The professionals who installed a water pump and fixed our botched system by the previous company was so dedicated, they did not leave our home until the job had been done. It took them over 14 hours to complete.

When they left, our HVAC was about 10x quieter, the air was circulating better, there we NO leaks, and we had a beautiful water pump. What's more, a month later, the company sent a handyman out to patch up the area where the water pump hose exited our house.

If only we had known about Precision before our 3-month nightmare began with Preferred AC, we would have saved ourselves the trouble. Do yourself a favor, hire them, and gain peace of mind.

After our AC went out on a Saturday, we called our normal AC repair place since we had a service agreement. We couldn't get a hold of anyone, so we ended up calling Precision. Not only were they responsive, they got a service tech out quickly to fix our problem. Kyle handled all the repairs and did a great job. Thanks guys, you're our go-to company now.

precision heating and air replaced my central heat and air 8/2014 in a 1700 sf house for $12000 which i still owe $2000. in the summer of 2017 the condenser went out and they charged me
labor of $800 to replace. now the unit is not draining the humongous amount of condensation correctly and has ruined my breakfast room ceiling. ohhh, i also paid them $150 a year for semi annual maintenance . i posted on their web site after the installation a positive review. i want to retract that but their web site will not allow me to do so. i feel they have robbed me and caused me a lot of stress as well installed this expensive unit incorrectly which has caused me additional expense. one star is tooo much

Precision Heat overcharges you and takes four weeks to rectify the issue.

I don't trust this company.
1. They overcharged my credit card. I called once, and emailed three times to get a partial refund. They said they would fix it the day of service, but didn't get my refund until four weeks later. It took a fifth complaint (via Yelp) for them to notify me that the refund was processed. Bad communication all around.
2. They didn't complete the full service in my contract for either of my AC units. I only noticed this once my friend who does renovations reviewed my contract / bill.
3. Their technician kept trying to upsell me to a $1,500 air purification device that the CDC says is ineffective. This isn't that bad, it's to be expected of most companies doing home service work. Still left a bad taste in my mouth when compounded by all the other issues listed.
4. The technician left a pile of trash on my living room floor after the repair. He even watched me haul it out to the dumpster from inside his van. WTF is that?

I contacted Precision for a preventative check up since my relatively new AC unit was still working but was making some terrible noise. Their service fee was a little higher than other companies I contacted but they have a seemingly good reputation so I went with them. The tech gave me a call during the appointment window with a 15 minute notice, which I appreciated.

The tech insisted that there was a major issue with the capacitor and that it needed to be replaced and a "hard start kit" installed *before* he could properly diagnose the main issue with the AC motor. In hindsight, I should've stopped him there and gotten a 2nd opinion. I spent hundreds and didn't even get the main issue fixed. I got a different company to fix the main issue for way less than the $1500 the Precision tech quoted me and it even cost less than the simple capacitor fix. I don't recommend using Precision unless you want to get ripped off.

This place is fantastic! Whenever I called I spoke to Adam and he resolved the issue that we were having with my home, not only was he very knowledgeable about AC units, he pulled up my account and resolve the issue without any major problems. His demeanor on the phone was fantastic! I will definitely recommend my friends and employees to check out and use Precision Heating and Air in the near future!

When the a/c stopped working in the the June TX heat I called Precision to check it out. The tech pretty quickly diagnosed the outside condenser was fubar'd & told me that I needed a new system. Obviously this was bad news but from there the process for installing the new system was pretty smooth. "Tim" met me in the house I think the very next day (maybe the day after) & explained options... good better & best... but told me the "good" option would probably suit my needs just fine based on my situation... so the absence of the hard sell -- up sell -- was nice. They waived the service call fee towards the new system. He also offered a 5 year 0% interest payment plan through Wells Fargo... which I applied & was approved for. Installation was set for a few days later (soonest they could do it). Two young-ish but very personable techs arrived early to start the install. Someone else from the company checked in mid install to see all was going well. By the end of the day, the new system was in & working fine & the install techs explained everything to me afterward. The office staff ("Audrey") helped to clarify City of Austin rebates etc, the WF financing etc. & scheduling of follow up inspections. "Todd" came out to do the pre inspection for Precision (to make sure there would no red flags for the city to close the permit). C.O.A. final inspection was coordinated by Audrey & is set for 10/1. In summary I was very happy with the whole process... great communication, follow up, follow through & punctuality from everyone @ Precision.
