This was not my first time using Prater Plumbing, I have been using them for several years. Each and every time I have been happy with the service and believe them to be fair and honest. This time Leo and Christian came out to my home to replace my disposal. When they got to my home ... on time ... they tried to get the one working before taking it out. It was only 2 years old. They did it! My disposal came back to life and then they showed me to put ice in it to help keep the blades sharp and moving. They were so helpful and honest. They could have just taken the one out and put the new one in and charged more money. I really appreciate their integrity. I will definitely continue to use them in the future and recommend them to anyone who needs a plumbing service. Thank you for being professional and kind.

I called them on Sunday when my tenant called me to report that when she is using the washing machine, the water is coming out of her kitchen sink. When I called, they quickly answered the phone and were very professional (surprising considering it was a Sunday). They gave me a fair and honest price and got a service call scheduled for this morning. Today they came out and took care of the problem and even tested everything to make sure there are no more issues. My tenant is happy and the problem is solved. I will definitely keep their number handy for further plumbing/rooter projects.

I had a leak in my two story house from my upstairs bathroom which was leaking into my living room. Figuring that they were going to have to cut a gigantic hole in my ceiling, they didn't but fixed the problem! They were very professional and quick! They were very nice and helpful with telling me what was going on, to someone that was clueless. My plumber was Leo and he was great! I will be calling Prater Plumbing for any of my other plumbing needs in the future.

We have an older house with galvanized drain pipes. Our kitchen drain plugged up one day. Called one of the plumbers that sends you flyers to unclog. He couldn't unclog. Looked under the house and noticed some rust around one of the galvanized pipe joints. He said he wouldn't touch it because it might cause a bigger leak.

I had a similar problem in one of my bathrooms a few years ago. I had the ad plumber look at and he convinced me to replace one of the galvanized connections below the house with ABS. Spent over $400 for a band aid job.

Told myself that I would use a qualified plumber to do the next repair. I called three plumbers after the ad plumber told me they wouldn't touch it - wanted three bids. That was on a Saturday. Sal at Prater Plumbing was the only one to get back to me that day. By Monday I had all three bids. Prater was the lowest - by a couple hundred dollars plus. Had them replace all galvanized piping with ABS from the kitchen sink to the main drain. 60 feet run replacement under a raised foundation with a small crawl space. Sal and Shawn worked on this all day. I was actually there while they were working Hard working with no complaints.

Very prompt and professional. I'm writing this two months after they repaired and everything is working perfectly. Planning on replacing bathroom galvanized and I will definitely use them again.

Ive had issues twice within weeks apart and called these guys. They are amazing!! They came out the same day and handled the issue. They kept me in the loop as to what the problem was and what they were going to do to fix it. I will def be using and referring them in the future.

NOPE : Two weeks ago, I called to have someone come out and check out a toilet that wasn't flushing correctly and constantly was backing up. I never received a call back until I reached out again and was told by Sal the NEW OWNER someone would be there on Monday morning. The plumber, Larry, that showed up was nice enough and said he would be able to come back either that Thursday or Friday to take care of the two toilets that needed replacing. I never got a call back all week so decided I would call someone else to come look at it. On Friday morning as I'm in my car leaving for work, Larry shows up as I'm leaving and says he is there to install. I told him I never received a call after I specifically told him last time that I wanted to know as soon as possible when he would be coming out again. He then blamed it on the NEW OWNER Sal who supposedly was the one responsible for getting back to me. We decided to go ahead with the $700.00 fix because the toilets needed to be fixed and it had now been 3 weeks since it began. But wait there's more.... this plumber then dropped and spilt toilet bowl water from a shop-vac all over the carpet in the upstairs master bedroom. Not a little A LOT. He cleaned it up as best he could with the shop vac but when I asked for a written statement of the accident he said he would write one up for me after he finished cleaning up. He then went outside, leaving my front door open. Of course, I assumed he was coming back inside so my front door was left open for about 20 min before I went to see what was taking so long. He freaking took off, gone, left without another word. Oh AND he left a bunch of the old toilet assembly in my small bathroom trash can.

Completely Unacceptable.

Last night I noticed the water in our kitchen sink was coming back up through both drains. Pffft. No problem, I thought. I flicked the switch to the garbage disposal. Suddenly the nasty drain water started bubbling up, filling the drain even faster. Damn... my (everyone's) go to strategy has failed. My dad sells plumbing and is an amateur plumber himself, so I asked him for his advice. He tells me to take apart the pipes underneath the sink and check the trap. No problem.

20 minutes later I've taken apart every pipe under the sink and still nothing. So my dear ol' dad comes over and he takes a look. And says we should check the ""clean out"". We we walk around the side of the house and found it and opened the cap and GUUUSH! all the trapped water comes spraying out. My pops says that ain't normal. So he recommends I try to snake it, if I have one, which I do. And if I can't then call a plumber.

So I snake it and snake it, and just can't seem to clear it and now its about my bed time. My precious evening is ruined. First world problems.

So the next morning I call Joseph Prater Plumbing after hearing good things about them and a recommendation from a friend. I explain the problem and they say they can get someone to me by 2pm.

11 am Christian shows up. Bonus. He diagnoses the situation, jumps on the phone to explain to me, and I give him the go ahead. He snakes it from the inside and the outside and clears our drain like it ain't no thang.

I'm at work so I did not have the pleasure, but my wife reports Christian was a polite gentleman, and he took care of the problem like a true professional. He also helped install the plumbing when the house were built in our neighborhood, Village at the Park, so he has insider knowledge of how these homes are laid out.

All in all, it was a 5 star experience. We will be calling Jospeh Prater Plumbing for our next plumbing misadventure.
