Had a well pump replacement scheduled for a Thursday, but the pump failed on Tuesday. A crew arrived within the hour, assessed the situation, and replaced the pump in about 2 hours. Everyone was courteous, professional, efficient, and - most importantly - they knew what the hell they were doing. They apologized for having to drive over part of the flowerbed, but hey - I'm the one who planted flowers around the well cap. (No biggie.)
As for pricing, the total ended up being a couple hundred less than the estimate. (Yay!) The new pump also came with a 5-year warranty. (Cool.)
Replacing a well pump is always expensive, but I think we were charged fairly.

Words cannot express how amazing this company is. After our daughter had no water for days and their home warranty company was giving them the run around, we contacted Prairie State and not only was Isabel in their office super pleasant to deal with, she got ahold of their incredible technician Joe who was there within an hour. He diagnosed the problem, bad well pump, and had all the parts with him and got it fixed right away.
I can not recommend this company and Joe in particular, highly enough.
If you have well problems, call them.

Highly recommended. I used the Marseilles office of this company, but the service was excellent. They came to replace our water conditioner and helped diagnose an issue with our well and hot water heater. The service was fast, the installer was professional and punctual. The owner is not condescending when explaining things to us and I was very pleased with how kind the office ladies have been to me when I have called and needed help. Their products are also very robust and I have been impressed with their product line as well.

Late one evening, i came to find out there was no water coming out of any of the faucets. Being on well and septic, the only time the water ever goes out, is when the power goes out, and I had power. My neighbor recommended I call Prairie State. It was almost 11pm and thankfully someone answered the phone. I explained what was going on and he said they would be there first thing in the morning. I was expecting to replace the well pump and sweating that I was about to drop few thousand. Mike and Dan came by the next morning, assessed the situation, figured out what the problem was, and told me what it approximately was going to cost. Luckily, they said it should come in under $1K in total cost. Ended up replacing my plumbing and the tank in about an hour. Great service, I was very happy with them. Will recommend to anyone on a well and septic system!

These guys are truly amazing! My water stopped working and I was expecting to have to buy a new pump. I gave them a call. It was after an ice storm, so I thought I would have to wait a long time.. Even though I live quite a ways away, they were here in less than an hour. They checked out the water tank and the circuit breakers and were able to fix the problem quickly...I was truly shocked when I asked them how much I owed them, and they said nothing. Since my pump is 25 years old, we discussed how much a new pump would be....they quoted me a price that was less than half of what my old well guy wanted to charge me. They were professional, knew their stuff, and most of all seemed like very nice and trustworthy guys. I would recommend them whole heartedly, and when it comes time for me to finally replace my pump, they're the guys I'm going to call.

I called this company to come out to service a pump they installed four years earlier that was still under warranty. They responded immediately and came out the next morning without any issues. The problems started when they assessed the problem. Their tech claimed the tank bladder had gone bad (installed less than two years previous) which caused the pump to short cycle and burn out, thus voiding the warranty. They quoted over $3100 to replace the tank, the electronics, and the pump. I had another reputable local company come out to give a second opinion. They fixed the pump and electronics for less than $800 and said there was nothing wrong with the tank. Clearly, Prairie wanted to overcharge me and claim the warranty for themselves on the back end. It's disappointing to say the least that a company can act in such an untrustworthy manner with a family's access to water. Not recommended to say the least. Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware.

Great communication with immediate call backs and regular updates on eta. Turned out to be a pump pressure switch which is a pretty easy fix. I felt the price was fair and they provided good explanations of what they were doing and options available.

Woke up this am with no water. Called Prairie State Water Systems and Matt and Dolton were at my home within the hour. By 12:30 we had a new pump installed and ready to go. They decided not to ruin our yard with a heavy truck, so they replaced the pump by hand. We are very appreciative and would definitively call them again for any future well issues. Thank you!

I am happy to recommend this company! This is the second job that they've done for us, but this was a crisis! I had water coming into the basement where the water entered the house. They came out the same day and fixed it in no time at all. The guys were polite, knowledgeable and very helpful. Last night I was mopping the basement, tonight I get my ice cream! I will definitely call these guys again and recommend them to anyone that asks!

Prairie State Water Systems is seriously an excellent family owned business. Mike is just a top notch trust worthy, hard working, good man. I'm born and raised on city water and sewers but after moving to Inverness I had a problem with a failing well pump. Mike took his time to educate me on the well water systems as well as the work he would be conducting. Prairie State was on time, informative and very clean when they put in my new well water system this spring. Praire State was very affordable and I would highly recommend them based on my positive experience with Mike because he brings credibility and integrity to well water industry.
